It appears that Maya is the carrier of a fast acting and dealy virus. Alejandro acts as an antidote when near her. Separating these wonder twins is a bad idea.

I agree BYD,
Maya has the mutated version of the heroes virus that normal folk can contract. Her brother stops the spread of the virus. BUT, that doesent tell us anything about thier powers. Unless Maya's power is just making people sick. What is her code name? Ms. Ebola????? It has to be more to it than that. I hope................

Maya is hawt. Aishwarya Rai is joining the cast later. It also appears Claire lost weight (not that she needed to). And Niki will be returning too...

Overall, I'd say this season shall be quite easy on the eyes.

Have to agree that Maya is fit, as I took it she spreads the disease and the brother heals it ie it cant spread when he's around her..... as was pretty much stated above.....

I can see them as the central characters this season, and the others will role on out as the season goes on.

So you have the good guys trying to stop the virus and the baddies wanting to split them up and spread it amoungst the humans, so to reflect the baddies finding out how to become ammune to it themselves then spreading the joy....muhahahahah

I don't see how this is a power or what the purpose is? It's all kinda of strange to me. Alejandro seems to be able to reverse whatever it is so I'd say he might have a beneficial power, but Maya just cries and who knows what happens after that.

To be honest, I don't see Maya lasting to the end of the series. (unless it's a sad copy of the HTSAEM scenario, but with a super who can spread a plague!).

I can see Alejandro making a serious impact on this season, and the ones to follow.

If his ability is to take a sickness and remove it, as we saw in last night's episode, then he could be the cure-all for those heroes afflicted by their plague that Mohinder is tracking and clearing up.

Thoughts??

Well, from last night's episode, we saw how his power "counteracts" Maya's ability.

He basically took her affliction onto himself, and then made it harmless. It affected not only Maya, but their friend and guide as well, so it's not just a contact ability. It does have a range, albiet a short one for now.

Thus, I'm thinking that his power is something more than just a nullification of a disease, but some kind of cleansing ability. He takes and cleans out the power flowing from Maya, making it harmless. When he's not there, the power turns again, and Maya becomes a walking affliction.

When she go's to see that healer, she lells her that she could "Kill the devil"

WTS ? Uluru perhaps?

Could Alejandro's ability be that of a power leech, nullifying the ability of those around him? I guess we'll see when he encounters other people with abilities.

i kind of see it as a chimera / bellerophon (from mi2? lol) kind of a situation, tho the fact that her eyes and tears go black when it happens suggests theres something altogether more sinister.

i can see maya kicking around for a fair while, if only because she, as the healer said, is able to "kill the devil".... perhaps this might hold out hope for the end of "the boogeyman" whoever that turns out to be.

I think their powers are tuned to each other. I don't think Alendro's power affects anything other than nullifying his sister's power. I could see Sylar offing Maya but her brother escaping and trying to follow Sylar the rest of the season keeping him from destroying people wherever he goes.

That is one nasty power Maya has, I just see it getting old quick if they keep the two together. I'd like to see her stick around for a while but that power makes it complicated for someone good of heart. I think her brother is sort of useless if his power is what I think it is, unless either Sylar or Peter get that ability. Then he would be quite useful.

Maybe the dude is like Leech in Xmen and absorbs peoples powers.

Either way they both suck and i hate every scene involving them.
