| Yeah, they could maintain a professional relationship, while investigating all the FBI's paranormal-type cases. Of course, since Matt will soon be single he'll develop an addiction to porn, but then HRG will have to take up smoking, and FBI chick will get abducted by aliens... |

| I have been looking at Matt as the one that I am not sure about, between being drugged at the bar and losing a days worth of memories and the fact that he doesnt seem to be as "main" a charecter as some of the others. I could be wrong about that, but it seems that the focus is more on some of the others than him, but maybe that is just my perception.Could he be the one that goes to the "dark side"? (Matt, I am your father!). Or maybe I am way off base on this one, just my input though. Thanks for listening. |

Since the FBI girl already knows Matt's secret, I think she is a valuable ally to keep around, romantically or otherwise. Another benefit of having an FBI agent on a team of Heroes is that she will know where all the crime is going down. Who better to point to the bad guys than her? Plus, I have hope she will fall into a vat of toxic waste, or get bitten by a radioactive insect and get powers as well. |

I think there has been clues all along that part of the problems with Matt's marriage is Matt himself.
He has major communications problems with his wife.
Forgetting his counselling session with her, although he had a great excuse, did not seem to be an isolated incident.
His repeatedly not answering his cell phone when she called. The show took pains to make this obvious to the viewer.
His wife obvious shock at Matt's sudden attentiveness and understanding.
Her cheating on him may be Matt's wife's attempts to end a relationship that was over a long time ago.
Basically I am sugesting that there is always two sides to these stories...
Matt's relationship with his wife may prove to be very interesting and very real. |

This is kind of a horrible thought that just occurred to me as I was rereading over the entries to this thread.
Matt essentially has these two woman in his life, his wife and the FBI agent that he is working with.
The closer he gets to Skyler the more danger both of these woman will be in.
What if Skyler kills one of them?
All bets would be off...Matt would no longer be bound by any rules in his desire for vengeance....he will no longer be just a police officer bound by rules and procedures but a true vigilante.
This is all just speculation, and probably does not belong here, please forgive me if it seems out of line or far fetched. |

You're right. Even though she's cheated on him he probably still loves his wife. While Sylar would not be interested in her since she has no powers we know about, he could still use her as leverage. |

| I just don't want to see him and her (Audrey) get together so quickly (as a couple). I think she's going to be a semi permanent character in the show, and will eventually become just fine, but for know I hope they just run together as partners of justice or friends as they all have personal issues to work with. |
I also don't think they'll get together quickly because such an event would be too climactic too early on. Better yet to have their characters interact with low-level sexual tension for a season or two. Meanwhile we'll all scream "Kiss! Kiss!" at the TV whenever they're onscreen alone, because some of us will be watching and hoping they do get together.
As a writer, a moment like that is not something you just write into a script. It's something you build up to, even save up for. Then you spend it. Once you've spent it, it's gone. There's no tension, no suspense, nothing that keeps people watching unless you introduce some other twist (Audrey is secretly married? Matt's wife wants him back?) But then people expect even more progression in that subplot... |

Signatures create useless clutter, and contribute little to the value of a post. Proponents of brevity and concision would be fools to append signatures to online posts.
LOL, what a great signature |

She was SO cool in "Carnivale" too.
The character of Matt's wife is, unfortuneately, like many Americans nowadays, constantly on the look-out for the BBD (Bigger Better Deal). Having a man so obviously devoted to her isn't enough, he needs to be richer/smarter/better looking etc.
I know too many people like this & I personally derive much satisfaction by observing them self-destruct... but then again, I'm a the illegitimate offspring of unmarried parents. |
