I still highly doubt that the guy in the Heroes preview is Matt. Why would Matt ever say "you can't hurt me." It just doesn't make any sense. The only reason he couldn't might be a reference to Elle protecting him. Otherwise, very unlikely.
Hmm I wonder what all the information is on the database. Probably information on every evolved human encountered by the Company. With all this, Matt will know all the weaknesses of them. But, seeing him in this comic with all the computer monitors, Matt looked more like a common super-hero hacker. He reminds me a lot of Barbara Gordon when she becomes Oracle, photographic memory and all. Even without the use of her legs, she was still a force to be reckoned with. So looks like Matt will be "oracle" of the Heroes universe: The Keyboard Samurai!
That's not the only reason "Matt" could be saying "You can't hurt me." We all know the previews are always edited very cleverly. Nothing is what is seems. For all we know, this person could have been saying, "You can't hurt me... you NEED me." The editors might have just cut out that second part (as they tend to do when editing). And if that's the case, then it could definitely be Matt Neuenberg in the preview.
There is definitely potential for Sylar to need Matt, especially with all of the information about The Company that Matt has loaded into his brain as we've seen in the GN. There's no way that Sylar can upload all of Matt's information into his own brain (especially if Elle will be destroying the mainframe in part 3 of the GN), so yes, Matt would definitely be of help to Sylar, especially if Sylar hopes to strategically take down The Company (and especially if the info that Matt uploaded has to do with everybody The Company has encountered - Sylar would know everybody's weakness).
Of course, the reason that the person is saying "You can't hurt me" could be because Elle is protecting him, but I like the possibility that writers had the clip edited to throw us off, as they tend to do.
To me, with this last GN, Matt's brain is now some kind of super neural-cybernetic interface. Because of this, I could honestly see Matt having some kind of BORG-like drive, needing to assimilate as much data and information as he can.
However, I don't really see him as any kind of real threat. I see him more as some kind of infernal library that wanders about on two legs, and can recall massive amounts of data.
We'll see. I don't see him as any kind of mastermind, but I do see him as a useful tool to be used for or against just about anyone or anything.

However, Jorm, wouldn't you agree that if Sylar got his hands on Matt, and The company knew of this, The Company would view Matt as a threat as well (in addition to Sylar)? If he has the potential to be a useful tool for someone else, then depending on what side he's working for, he's technically a threat to the other.
Do you mean that you don't see Matt as a real threat by himself? If so, then I agree with that.
Yeah. I can't see Matt as a solo nasty. I can see him being used, and contributing to problems, but I can't see him as some kind of arch-nemesis type of character.
That would be like making Mr. Muggles the head of The Company. It just wouldn't fit.
I like think of it in comparison to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the cartoon, not the movies):
Sylar = Shredder
Matt = Krang (the big brain inside the big walking machine)
The only difference is that Matt would be Sylar's subordinate (whereas in TMNT, Shredder and Krang were more like allies with neither having a drastic precedence over the other).
And of course, this means that Matt is disposable. But while he is disposable, I believe he is extremely useful.
After all, Sylar also has Matt's ability, so if things were to go downhill, Sylar could always dump everything that Matt knows into himself, and get rid of the patsy. Makes for a nice, clean getaway..
Matt is going to be one of those guys who is going to get in over his head really quickly, and then be left in the dust once his usefulness is done. Sad, but true. I called it here first!
I just wanna know exactly what was "downloaded" into his brain... if the internet is an actual other universe which allowed Drucker to "reveal" it to the world, who can tell what kind of information could be there? Is it something like the Akashic records the Edgar Cayce claimed to tap into? Perhaps a repository of all knowledge, past present and future? This has serious potential to make Matt a badass, cuz we all know from our childhood tv watching that "Knowledge is Power", right?

I suppose the only issue I'd have with that, Jorm, is that unless The Company is hiding some type of machine, I doubt Sylar could upload all of Matt's info into his own brain (personally, I don't think physical taking/eating his brain will give him any info, which means that Sylar doesn't benefit at all from killing Matt, unless Matt has already fulfilled everything that Sylar needs him to do.

Well, it's been confirmed that Matt was searching through the mainframe for any unidentified files (which is what he found - Hana and Drucker). Although Drucker was referring to cyberspace on the whole, I believe that the part of cyberspace involved (the "mainframe") was that solely having to do with The Company (and not the internet on the whole). To me, this means that since Matt's uploaded The Company's "mainframe" into his mind, he knows anything and everything that was in The Company's system. And IMO, at the very LEAST, this means that he knows everything about everyone who has ever gone through, been bagged and tagged, associated, or killed by The Company, as well as every single ability encountered by The Company. He is now an encyclopedia for special abilities.

Now confirmed on the title page of the new Graphic Novel, Chapter 70
pfft...as far as im concerned...they have a plan for matt, and uploaded false info, knowing it get hacked, and let matt "dwnld" that...and yada yada...just so he THINKS he has all this data on the company...i know its a heck of a lot to get someone to do something but really..this is how the company works.
(this coming from a guy that thinks the main explosion that hiro sees in season 1 eps2 was candice, tricking hiro into bringing everything together)
After reading GN Chapter 70, if Matt were to somehow come back to life, I definitely think that he would be even angrier at The Company for hurting him, and pretty much almost killing him. In turn, I could definitely see him develop a hatred for The Company, much more than he already has. Elle has promised him a number of times that she wouldn't let them hurt him, but what has always happened? He's been hurt. I hope they revive Matt and bring him in to "Villains."
If anything, Matt is the brain in the vault, and he isn't going anywhere. The artists must have just messed up the banner saying 2008 instead of 2007. Plus, the Haitian was still with the company.
This would then connect Matt with the main series, and give us information of who's brain that was. It is perfectly logical that the Company would lock up the brain if it is Matt's. It is their entire mainframe, all their information and secrets.
Great theory, VeryBadOmen! I like it! IMO though, I don't think we'll ever find out whose brain was in the vault (especially if it was Matt's, seeing that he's dead now), but I like that theory a lot. Knowing that Sylar can acquire abilities from brains, The Company might not take any chances with disposing of the brain since it's now a powerhouse of information. It could definitely be Matt's in the vault.
Don't you think it would have been a really smart decision to take gallons upon gallons of Adam Monroes blood over the years, and store them away for later use. Now would be a perfect moment to use it. You would think that with how ruthless to the company is, they'd have made a special Monroe blood-bank. Lets go writers, think up some ideas like this, haha!
