There are so many theories sorrounding this. I think that Matt is in the same time as everyone. It just doesn't seem likely that he is from a different time period. It is interesting to think that Claire is that little girl, but again becuase of things that have already happened, I just don't think that is the case. Like it has been said before though until we see Matt with another hero or we see any solid proof of what time period he is from we will not know for sure if he is from way in the past or not.

The girl's name is Molly Walker, now some can say Voodoo-Man comes and clears out her real name too...
Too much of conspiracy theories... Mr Bennett seems to love his daughter, why would he???

How could HRG and Voodoo man capture matt if he's in the past? that would make HRG and Voodoo man time travelers or they looked EXACTLY 12-14 yrs. ago. that's confusing

Its and interesting theory. However, there is evidence against it. Some has been posted, but a big one is the fact that Chandra Suresh went to New York to find Sylar about 2 years before the show starts. In the phone message he leaves Chandra, he says that Chandra worked with him to realize his powers, and now Chandra wants to stop him. Meaning that Sylar is only 2 years old as a supervillian.

In Matt's timeline, Sylar has left a trail of bodies for the FBI to follow.

I think we can rule out that the powers started with the eclipse because Claire's mom said she had something wrong with her chromosomes as a baby and Chandra Suresh has been working on his research for a good while.

TY ZIE for actually reading the theory, and supporting me. It is still plausible, as we have yet to see any true connection and/or appearances between Matt and other "specials". Let's keep our eyes Open, the theories are made to be challenged/debunked. But, for now, I am sticking with my theory on this one =]

No problem, SUPRMN7. I don't see the writers going this way, but I haven't seen anything to disprove it. It's just that it's too much time travelling, and too many time travellers. Something definantly seems out of sync for Matt. All of them have been linked and linked together - except Matt. Except for when HRG and Voodoo had him - this is his only link. And you deal with it in your theory.

Well, it has been a nice "ride" on this theory, but because of what we saw Matt "riding" in, on tonight's episode, I am quite certain this theory is debunked.

The car they were driving before entering "Pyro"'s house was a Ford Crown Victoria. The grill, hood, and headlights matched years 1998-2005. Now, we could say they are from as late as 1998, BUT the alloy wheels are specific to 2004-2005 models only.

*sigh* Like, I said, was a good "ride". Theories are fun though, and with a show like Heroes, involving minimumal, scattered fragments from different timelines...the possibilities are a PLENTY.

I would say Matt is definately present tense - did you see his wife's outfit, the decor in the house, etc. He is just in a different location, but his work with the FBI is going to draw him across the country to NYC so that he can fulfill his part in thwarting the bombing.
