Yes I have to say I was surprised that he and Ben both made it off the island. I've got to say I thought Ben would bite it for sure and I felt Sayid was very likely too as well. Guess I was wrong and now he's part of the Oceanic 6!
On another note, what's up with the time being off there?? Hmmm that should start alot of theories or add fuel to the one's already out there.
Creepy? I saw it coming as well, but I still liked it. It's got to make me think that Claire doesn't make it and her dying wish is for Kate to take care of Aaron for her. I'm speculating here of course. I also think that Jack finds out Claire is his sister and that's why he doesn't want to see Aaron. I guess I could be wrong though since Jack interacted with Aaron on the island and has already seen him before.
I don't think Jack knows that Aaron is the child that Kate is raising.
I got his hesitation to go see the baby to mean that he thought that it was Swayer's baby. BUT, we were of course given every indication that IT WAS NOT Swayer's baby -- unless Kate was lying about not being pregnant, and she had a boy that she named Aaron....
Another thing to think about is this: How did Kate get a hold of Aaron? Where is Claire in all of this?
Also remember that Aaron is some kind of possessed child or something that Claire was warned NOT to "have"?
Something is wrong in this picture....
The other thing that struck me yesterday was this: We thought that six have made it off the island (survivors of Oceanic 815), right? Ok, not counting Ben who we saw last week, that means:
Jack
Mystery dead person
Kate
Hugo
Sayid
Aaron
But I also distinctly thought I heard them refer to the Oceanic 8, yesterday..... So, something in some equation has changed!!! Who are the two new mystery persons? I wonder......
How about the boy and his father that left on the boat.... Walt and... what's his name?
I believe the reference to the "Oceanic 8" was that initially 8 people "survived," but two people "died" before the Oceanic 6 were rescued. I may be remembering things incorrectly, but that's how I took it to be.
I wonder why they made Kate the hero of that story? When Jack was first testifying, I assumed he was pulling the story out of thin air, but then Kate mentioned that she'd heard him tell that story so many times that she wondered if he had started to actually believe it.
And I'm not sure why I found it creepy. There's something about the final scene of the episode that really rubs me the wrong way. I don't know if it's because I had figured out the baby was Aaron beforehand, and that Kate letting him call her "mommy" just sent off alarm signals in my brain. But then I think, she's all he probably remembers about anything. So, I don't know. Something just wasn't right about that scene.
And where is Claire? Is she dead? Or did she entrust Aaron to Kate to make sure he got off the island? And finally, does Jack know the baby is Aaron, and that Kate is raising his nephew (something that HE should be doing, for all intents and purposes)?
No, I don't think Jack know Claire was his sister, and I don't think he knows Kate has Aaron.....
If he does, I'll be blown away..... But maybe, he plaintive, "We must go back," in the relative future from Thursday's Episode, means that he does know, and he knows that Claire is still alive on the island....
Hmmm....?
Another thought (and theory), I am starting to develop is this:
PART 1: Ben, and his cadre on the island as the forces of evil, or the forces of Lucifer.
PART 2: The forces that Ben and Sayid were fighting last episode (and Hugo was hiding from) two episodes ago are the forces of GOOD, the forces of God. Some representative of God is on that boat. There is going to be a reckoning soon for the Oceanic 6 (or 8 ) with the forces of God with Ben and Sayid hard on their heels.
I'm not sure I'd include Aaron in the Oceanic 6. I mean he technically wasn't alive when they crashed. Plus they have to pass him off as Kate's son. This is crazy. Alot of ways this could go. I could see Claire being dead, I could also see her sending Aaron with Kate just so he could get off the island. I really don't know, that's why I love this show. As far as Jack not knowing that Aaron is the baby Kate has, that would make no sense at all. They would have had to come off the island together, plus if Jack thought the baby was Sawyers and that was keeping him and Kate apart, don't you think Kate would be like, Jack it's not Sawyer's. I really think this was misdirection by the writers to make us think it was Sawyer's baby and then hit us with the surprise of it being Aaron. I could be wrong though.
The finale has its high and low points, but one thing is for certain:
Whatever the writers are smoking, I want it. It's gotta be something SERIOUSLY good. You'll no doubt agree with me once you watch it.
I wanna blab about it but I won't spoil it for you. It had me cursing at the screen and squealing with joy all in the span of a few minutes. Yes, I squeal.
