Heh, my mum and I might have to join in on this madness - Heroes and Jericho were the only two new shows this past year that I really got into, and I was utterly disappointed to hear it had been cancelled.... maybe I'll pick up some at work tomorrow |

Did you mean me, parasite?
also saw THIS on www.jericholives.com:
SPECIAL DISPATCH - LATE UPDATE - DAY 16 - THURSDAY MAY 31, 2007
Jericho Executive Producer Carol Barbee called into the Shaun O'Mac "Talking Jericho" show and reported that the options for Jericho are very much alive (the rumors out of the affiliates meeting in Vegas not true). She and the other producers are currently talking with CBS about what the options for the show might be. You can listen to last night's show in Shaun's archive: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/shaunomacradio

Jericho SAVED!
In case you didn't know:
Resurrection: The fans save 'Jericho'
This is great news!
And I totally agree with this quote:
| Quote: |
| I think they have to understand that the Nielsens are not telling the story anymore and that the 18-49 demographic they're all so keen on is online and that's how increasingly they are getting their news and entertainment. |

Nielsen's is a dinosaur from a different media epoch, saving it from extinction is NOT the natural order of things.
I just hope that all of the "save Jericho" boards don't die off now...
I've told people on www.jerichorallypoint.com to come here if they also like Heroes.
If anybody here likes Jericho, it seems to be one of the better sites.
P.S. Nielsen's also doesn't take into account people using TiVo &/or DVR to record episodes for later viewing & REviewing. |

I totally agree Blob! I finally officially joined www.jerichorallypoint.com today after lurking for two weeks! And what happens? The show gets picked-up! Can you believe it?!!
I have said this elsewhere (another forum):
| Quote: |
The reality is, the old Nielsen rating system is a joke. Is anybody on
this forum even a member family of Nielsen? I know A LOT OF PEOPLE who
love HEROES, JERICHO, SMALLVILLE and other Sci-Fi themed shows. But,
many times due to obligation they might not get to watch them for a day
or two. "Time shifting" (TiVo, VCRs, DVD recorders, etc.,), Internet
downloads (legal ones) and other methods are the way people watch shows
now. I talked to people who never watched the first 8 episodes of
"Heroes", heard about it, caught up with it on the Internet (NBC website
or iTunes), and then started watching it on TV.
This is the reality of new media. I hope and wish that in the future
there is a way to show how popular a show is by:
a) How many people legally download it;
b) How many people record it on their TiVos/DVRs.
I bet this info will BLOW the Nielsens AWAY! |
