Okay, so the show itself puts us in an analytical frame of mind. Its very format begs us to study it closely for what clues and information we can glean. Let's face it, it's what we all DO - study the show, sometimes in almost pointless detail, to see if we can work out why such-and-such happened, or what is coming next, right?
So, you'd think they'd be a bit more careful about giving away something really obvious. Not something about the plot or anything like that. Something a little more fundamental.
Clue 1: 5 week "production break" towards the end of Volume 1
Clue 2: The trailer after episode 18 states "We know you have theories, and we want to hear them"
Clue 3: Mohinder Suresh's "Theories Wiki", only a few days after it was brought online, seems to be almost completely user-generated content now
This leads me to think that there are two possible explanations.
1: For some unknown reason, they've HAD to take a break, and all of the above is just to give us fans something to do while we wait.
or, and this is my favourite theory:
2:They're ACTUALLY saying:
"Look, this thing's gotten awfully complicated all of a sudden, and we're a bit stuck. See, we never intended this show to be about super powers, but you all have gotten yourselves so worked up about the hows and the wherefores of it all, we feel we really need to give you a little more information. The only problem with that is, we don't HAVE the information you all want. Like I said, this was never supposed to be about the abilities, it was supposed to be about the people, so we never even THOUGHT about how most of the abilities would work. We just assumed they would. We didn't realise that lack of research would leave us with gaping plot holes, we really didn't.
"So, anyway, some of our team were scanning the fan forums, and one guy noticed that someone out there actually pointed out that you guys were great at explaining away our massive inconsistencies, so we looked a little deeper, and it turns out that person was right, you guys really ARE good at that! Of course, you guys spend a LOT of time on these forums, and we just haven't got the manpower to sort through all the tons of information you have to get to the real gems. On the positive side, a lot of you guys with differing opinions have worked together to thrash out your differences, so you all know where the real gems are, so if you wouldn't mind either sending us your theories, or contributing to the Wikis, we'd really, REALLY appreciate it."
You know when you're obsessed with Heroes when, given that you don't have any more theory-food for five weeks, you start to theorise about what the cast and crew are doing, and why they're doing it.
BTW - I wouldn't use the ability-related information from Mohinder's website wiki to settle any arguments just yet....l'd wait and see what information THEY decide to take from it.
hm.... March Madness, anyone? It's basketball season here in the States - i highly doubt NBC would chose to air "Heroes" over something that would give them even higher ratings...
In the UK we keep our "geek" programming and our "jock" programming on completely different channels! Although we do have some crossover "real men" channels which carry a little bit of geek and a little bit of jock - but they're mostly motorsport and "America's worst whatever" programs.
SciFiUK carries Heroe, and the sports channels carry the sports. That is the natural order of things.
We may be airing it 15 weeks behind you, but I guarantee it won't be taken off air for sports.
Damn you, NBC, I thought you'd embraced the geek side!
Haha, nope, over here they kind of lump all of the really big stuff together. It's kind of depressing that we're going to miss the most awesome new show in a good while for... basketball. ugh
Wow, we haven't had to "lump it all together" since the advent of cable and satellite TV in the 1980's.
Although occasionally, the BBC will drop (yet another rerun of) star trek in favour of cricket, or golf, or snooker or some other, equally entertaining sport.
Hehe, ALL of them, although TOS seems to be most popular on 278 of the 290 channels at the moment. The other 12 channels are showing "When Americas Worst Dumbest Animal Criminal Trainers Camera Crews Attack"

Hi Everybody,
We are huge fans of Heroes - so much so that we had to download them as they were taking too long to come on English TV! But ...WHAT IS THE TRANCE TYPE THEME MUSIC, not the your eyes one , not the one by Hans Zimmerman or the Shenkar but the trancy type one that I think is in the credits, we have searched high and low but cannot find it anywhere(we have even been told its a Madonna remix of Shanti which its not and also by Wendy and Lisa but we have listened to them also )-please please please someone help us !!!
Back on topic for a moment....if y'all don't mind, that is!
Horse's mouth stuff....not that it was too obvious....
It was scheduling conflicts. Adding the numbers up and dividing by something....
It takes (apparently) 8 days to "complete" an episode. The episodes air every 7 days. They started a couple of weeks before the first episode. I'd say they're using the Hiatus to film Chapters 19 to 23, so they can all go on holiday for a while before they start preparing for Volume 2.
Now I think it's time to delete this topic, as I only started it for a laugh in the first place!
