For keeping yourself pretty well in check over there, you sure are able to cut loose in here Obsidian!
I'd have to agree. Considering the mess that NYC traffic can be, and the likelihood of there being even more of a mess with major folks like the Heroes cast and their World Tour, I'd have to say that PK isn't going to be posting anything until fairly late..
My joy was killed when I found out I couldn't be in NYC for the party.....
On the positive sign, I might have even better job news... Oh yeah, that other job I was telling you all about, didn't materialize (I didn't want to take it), because of something MUCH< MUCH BETTER.
Anyhow, I am excited about my future, and I am excited about "Heroes". Can it get any better?!!!
I actually got back home to Long Island (after travelling from the city to NJ to pick up my car, and then NJ to LI) at 3:30pm, so I made some excellent time
The reason I posted the pics on Facebook first is simply because I was tired and feeling lazy lol - posting them on Webshots or directly here with links here takes a little more time.
Anyway, onto the point of this topic...
TODAY WAS THE BEST FREAKIN' DAY IN THE WORLD. NO JOKE. Here's how my day went, moment by moment, lol-
Woke up at 4:30am, got to Karl's house in NJ at 6:45am, and left his house at 7:30am. Him, his mother, and me then went to pick up Virginia, who is the person that Karl's mother wrote about in her essay. Virginia has created and participated in countless number of projects in the community, for schools, parks, and otherwise, not to mention that she had actually worked for and was close with the Rockefeller family at one point in her life.
Anyway, we got to NBC at 9am and got our visitor's passes. We were then escorted to the front of the line (the VIP section). However, at first, only Karl's mom and Virginia got VIP passes to cut the line, but after walking around the area for a bit and being paitient, we got a call saying that they would be providing us with passes as well. Rock on.
Virginia & Karl's mother both received free t-shirts and Season 1 DVD sets, so they got their DVDs signed while Karl and I got our VIP passes signed. Afterwards, we headed to the upper level of the NBC store, where all of Tim Sale's (Isaac's) paintings were on display to the public. They looked pretty bada$$ up close.
After seeing/taking pics of the paintings, we had about an hour and a half to kill until we had to meet up at the Visitors Center again at 11:50 for lunch, so Karl and I hung out on the Observatory Decks of the NBC buildling which, by the way, provides an incredible view of the city (in other words, for $17 you can see for countless miles in all directions, so go there future NY tourists lol)
At 11:50 we were escorted to the Rock Center Cafe (I think that's what it was called), and one by one the cast members were brought into the restaurant, and we followed behind them.
We got to sit with Jeff Loeb, Dania Ramirez, and Dania's assistant. After I returned from getting food though, Zach was at our table congratulating Virginia and Karl's mother, and it was at that time that Karl and I struck up a conversation with Zach for a good two minutes. I forget what we talked about - I think Zach asked, "Okay, so who's the hardcore Heroes fan," at which point Karl pointed to me and the conversation carried on from there.
Get THIS though - the funniest thing was that I ended our conversation by saying to Zach, "I'll see you on the 24th of September," and just as he replied with a "Yeah!" I thought to myself - "Wait, that doesn't sound right" - so I whispered, "Oh wait, no, actually I'll see you in episode 3," and he's like "Wait?! How did you know that," so I chuckled and said, "Well, man, I heard it through the grapevine - I am the spoiler man" haha. It was a freakin fabulous interaction. And then I snapped a pic with him.
I spoke mostly to Jeff at the table, as Virginia and Karl's mother were conversing mostly with Dania about the activities Virginia has been a part of. Unfortunately, I didn't squeeze out any spoilers from Jeff, or anybody else, and I didn't even ask for that matter - I just didn't think it would be proper. We basically just talked about the writing process that they go through - that ideas are like pulling rabbits out of a hat (that was his analogy) and that they always know their 'final destination' in regards to the plot, meaning where they want to end up - they just need to somehow fill in all of the development in between to get to their end point. I also didn't take any pictures with them at the table because I didn't think that would be proper either, you know, with food in their mouths and all lol.
So after we ate, we conversed some more (at this point, one of the studio managers - I think - came over to speak to us as well - I forget his name, but he was a really cool guy). Photographers also came over to take group shots of us, so that was really cool. Our pics might be up on NBC, so if you see them and I don't, then let me know!
After lunch is when I got the rest of my pictures. In FACT - after some more press group pics, I actually asked Zach if he could do the Sylar "two-finger slice to the forehead" pose with me, but surprisingly he said no because he doesn't do that outside of the show. He said he'd be happy to take another regular one though, so I wasn't about to turn that one down haha.
I can't get over how RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL Dania is, especially in person. When we were all saying our goodbyes, I got the BIGGEST hug in the world from her and a nice kiss on the cheek. At that moment, it felt like Dania had Zane Taylor's ability - she pretty much made melt. From the cast to all of the NBC affiliates present, everyone was so awesome and friendly. It really was one of the best days I've ever experienced in my life.
Congrats PK. Don't forget us poor folks when you make it big in the entertainment industry!
Lol thanks - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed (in addition to working my a$$ off), so if things do one day take a turn for the best, you can bet that my Superhiro.org buddies will be getting some shout outs. I might even have to take up Linderman's suggestion and form a group of specials... 13 of us... to rule the world. Mwahah.
Lucky number 13? I don't think you want that kind of "superstitious" nonsense following you around in your career!
Think more along the lines of that magical number '9'!
Heh... nah, my lucky number is 32, lol. Did you read the spoilers I posted last week about WTTB and Linderman's group? Not a whole lot there, but they just tell us that
even though 8 or 9 of Lindy's super-group are only left, 13 was the original number
