on 'Hiros blog' He refers to the future hiros sword. saying he may call it 'Masamune'. And so the sword may in fact be one of Masamunes swords; considered to be some of the best ever created.

Isaac eat your heart out.
heh...that will show that Isaac!
wasn't he (Masamune) a figure in Japanese history? a fighter or sword maker or some such? damn may have to sniff around on wikipidea that site makes me nuts sometimes. there are also some video games based on the persona of Masamune if i'm not mistaken...
I also think the book A hiro's journey may have something to do with this as well but i can't find info on it...
what if hiro is a mock version of truncks and the way he gets it is from a future character like peter From the future and by the way if anyone is interested the way trunks gets his sword comes on tonight on cartoon network at 9:30 pacific
He was VERY famous; the 'book of 5 rings' is still a must read for any martial artist. His name appears in pretty much any modern thing involving swords, Ie video games (a masamune is used by one of the characters in final fantasy and misurugi in soul callibur), and the katana used in highlander is also supposedly a masamune (though the handle would suggest otherwise). In western cultures he is often confused with Musashi as he also wrote a /book of 5 rings.
Such a famous heroes sword would no doubt be vey tempting for a man who cold teleport past security undetected........
do you know when this happens because i dont remember that happening and that means sylar might be on the run again which would be bad
We will all know on monday friend... just sit tight! and i couldn't agree more...
sniff around on tv.com and look up heros for some interesting tidbits..

Nice job, SwordOfMasamune! I mean, Isaac, lol. Nice find! Of course Hiro's incredible giant ninja kitchen knife has to have a name, haha. I wouldn't have it any other way! =]

Since I don't play video games, previous references to Masamune went over my head. I went to see what I could find out about him and a few other historical Japanese figures with 4-syllable names starting with M. I tried to summarize concisely, and I included links for Wikipedia. At the very end, I have included a few quotes about Goro Nyudo Masamune which may bear on Heroes.
Goro Nyudo Masamune was a sword smith who worked in Japan around the early to mid 1300's, known for the beauty and quality of his work. His swords appear in some role-playing games, folklore, and fiction. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masamune
Date Masamune was a daimyo in the Tohoku region of Japan in the late 1500's to early 1600's, known as a great tactician and ruthless. He is a character in some role-playing games. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_Masamune
Muramasa was sword maker who is compared at times to Goro Nyudo Masamune and is sometimes described as his contemporary, but he really lived about 200 years later.
Miyamoto Musashi lived at approximately the same time as Date Masamune. He wrote the Book of 5 Rings and perfected a two-sword kenjutsu technique. He is the subject of a well-known historical novel as well. Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miyamoto_Musashi
Shirow Masamune is a modern manga writer. (from Amazon.com)
I couldn't find any mention of any books by Goro Nyudo Masamune or Date Masamune, only Shirow Masamune. There are plenty of books about the first two men.
Wikipedia says: "The few works of Masamune that remain all have the legal status either as Japan's national treasures or part of the imperial regalia," and, "In legend and fantasy, Muramasa's blades are described as bloodthirsty or evil while Masamune's are considered the mark of an internally peaceful and calm warrior."
So I can totally see Hiro with a Masamune sword, and the real ones are all in museums. I don't easily imagine Hiro stealing one, unless it formerly belonged to his family and still does in his mind, as another poster suggested. Or maybe his dad has one squirrelled away somewhere, but then he would have to be carrying it around in a museum for some other reason.

Wow, Payquage - nice work on all the research! Good job!!
I did a short search on the Web, and the only information I found about Takezo Kensei was in reference to Heroes. In another fan forum, someone pointed out that this name may have been made up from a combination of Takezo Miyamoto (I thought it was Takezo Shinmen) and Musashi Kensei (Miyamoto Musashi).
I'm also pointing out the following here because this seems like the best topic for it: Hiro faced down the dinosaur in the museum with the "sword" still sheathed, but in Isaac's painting it was a naked blade. I don't know if that's an error or a hint that the prediction wasn't fulfilled.
I loved it that Hiro brought the replica back! He could have just left it for them to find or kept it anyway.

Logistically, he had to take it back. Had he just left it, then it would have still been stolen and when found and fingerprinted he would be considered a thief. Since he took it back, the guards would have been like "Huh?!?" because it was there, then gone, then back again. Also, the security cameras would have picked up Hiro being there and then gone. But since it is back, it probably wont be fingerprinted.
**I wonder if HRG or Linderman will get a hold of the security video and come after Hiro now. That might cause complications when Hiro shows up with Symone at Linderman's.
If Linderman's not after Hiro from finding out Hiro tried to steal the sword from the museum, he will when Hiro takes it from him in Las Vegas. I'm waiting to see how Hiro is going to find out where Linderman keeps the sword.

Well, when it comes down to it, if his powers work correctly, Hiro has all the "time" in the world to search for his beautiful weapon when he gets to Linderman's. Lol.
