Hiro, our favorite super powered time traveler. Carries a sword and a premonition about the future and the will to save it.

Where have I heard this before?

Hopefully the sword lasts as long as it did in DBZ...

Not that swords don't rock, it's just that Hiro doesn'tNEED one.

Hell, if he wanted to just cut someone up, all he'd have to do is stop a molecule-wide segment of someone's torso in regards to the rest of the surrounding space-time continuum. SLICE!!!

Perhaps the sword is just a wooden sword(or metal with no sharp edge). Like a police stick but with a cool hilt and curve. Designed to knock someone out. This could be posiable(but not likely i know).

As far as simalure events from other storys. Ive said this before to someone on a forum
some years back. If you look hard enuff you will find a story(show/book/comic) with simalar aspects and weather or not that was taken from that story into the story we are injoying now is hard to say. But my guess is that the writers probley did not take any idea's from dragon ball z.

I have seen DBZ and know of the simalaritys but there is allot of differences
(DBZ spoilers ahead)
-First Trucks is super powerful (superman basically)
-Hiro is normal as far as strength speed etc.
-Trucks is back from the future to give goku med's and inform him of andriods
later finding out that he simply went to another dimention and the past is another realality and he cant change the past for his reality
-hiro was worryed about cazing a rift. Meaning he "Can" change the past that affects his future, unlike in DBZ.

So some Big difference's Idea's might have been spawned form DBZ but i dont think theres any plagerizem (or copy cating) going on.

Trucks cant change his past
Hiro Can

oh and that cool thing with cutting people in half with the time thingy the other person was talkin about . Thats cool but i dont think Hiro or even future Hiro has that kinda control... YET. Smile

Actually it would be awesome if Hiro did a classic samurai face off thing. Where it's at a stand off then all of a sudden Hiro is on the other side of the guy with the sword halfway sheathed and the the guy falls in half.

I think the sword is everything BUT a weapon.

1) It serves to intimidate.
2) It makes Future Hiro look uber-cool.
3) It has the symbol on it, so it may function as a talisman of sorts (power-booster?) like the Haitian's necklace possibly does.

I discussed Hiro's sword a few weeks ago on here. We obviously don't know the exact nature of Hiro's power, and during the discussion we never could come to an agreement on just about any of his power's aspect either.

I believe the sword is the perfect weapon for Hiro. In a gun fight there is little time for reaction in real time (disregarding time dilation... possibly a more advanced power) and there is the whole question of the dynamics (thermodynamics, transfer of momentum [e.g. cards return into place with embued velocity], etc...) of objects, such as bullets and gun mechanics, in his frozen time, but from what we've seen already, we know objects he touches can move in frozen time. Thusly, a sword is a perfect weapon to be used in frozen space.

Perfect Assassin:
Pop in -> Freeze time -> *Slice* -> Unfreeze -> Pop out Smile

Knowing one's time, date, and location, no one is safe haha.

i like the "talismand" idea
since this show borrows a lot...perhaps its a take on the donny darko idea of time travel, something to do with harmonics, a metal object and some other jargon. Lets say his sword is made by a master craftsman. meaning it would have perfect balance. tapping like a tunning fork the vibration of the sword could help effect his ability to travle forward or back in time. or something like that...donny darko was full of bizzar ideas...

Being the comic book NUT that he is, Hiro chooses to dresses like a comic book hero. The goatee, the sword , the over coat, and long tied back hair, are all apart of his custume.

Also we don't know how far into the future "Future Hiro" came from, so he may have learned how to use it. He had atlease a year or two of hair growth on his head.
