there is a spoiler about Hiro's time travel and how we will find out more about his sword and how it plays it has a big part. What does eveyone think about this, any thoughts on what it might do?

I feel that it has some type of power of its own, I believe that it lets hiro do something more with his power, sort of like the mysterious bald black guy with HRG how he has the necklace that he holds when he erases brody's memory, maybe hiros sword has some effect on his powers, I just thought it was interesting how Kring says that it will play a part in the show. Thoughts?

I just can't think of how it will contribute.. just looks super upber cool

the RNA symbol might have something to do with it.. as "The Munipilater" said.. Vodoo has the necklace.. also Niki has the tattoo.

From what we know of Hiro, one would not think that he has any swordsman skills yet. Since future-Hiro was carrying it, it should have some use. We can deduce that he will either learn to master it as a weapon or that it has some power. Of course, it could just be that Hiro wears it to look cool. In that case it is just a cool looking sword.

It should be noted that Masi Oka practices Kendo Swordfighting and has for years.

What if the sword belongs to Sylar or whomever is slicing the tops of peoples' heads off for their brains? And then sometime in the future, Hiro comes into possession of the sword somehow, i.e., after Sylar is defeated? I would think a sword like that, if used properly, would be pretty good at slicing a head the way we've seen it in the earlier episodes...just a thought?! It could be what Kring was referring to in that it "plays a big part"?!

Perhaps it is not necessarily the sword, but what it is made of. We have seen a tast of what Micah can do with technology. What we thought was supergenius seems more likely to be the ability to manipulate technology. However, he may find a way to develope a metal that has specific use for Hiro, such as magnifying his abilities, as someone said finding other heroes, or just being extra sharp. Who knows, but it can have properties of it's own.

Ya "kdesai05" theory maybe correct it may belong to a different hero at some point like Sylar, no one knows I guess we will just have to find out.

I would really like to see the use of the sword as a talisman of some sort.

It could be, as stated earlier, that the sword itself allows him to use time travel with more accuracy instead of simply landing at some random time and place as in his first attempt.

I can't see how a weapon could help someone who has the ability to stop time, unless it gives him the ability to say....kill someone while time is stopped =)

Hiro's sword is an interesting conundrum. I've been thinking about this...why would someone who can STOP TIME need a wicked katana? He could just carry a pocket knife and stop time, then take his opponents out with the knife or even a paperclip without needing a showy katana.

Which leads me to...FutureHiro must have encountered enemies who can affect his ability to stop time, or can move about in stopped time like he can (Peter.) Or perhaps his ability to stop time is limited in use somehow?

Bennet did say to Matt "Your powers won't work when he's around." when Voodoo was in the room. Albiet, that was proved false, but maybe there are Heroes that can cancel out other's powers. A sword is hard to cancel out, so unless Hiro also has the power of inate swordsmanship, he could just use it to fight.
