He...Ripped...Up...A...Action...Comics...
That's the most expensive comic...ever!
But I thought it was sweet. It reminded me of a book I read in 2nd or 3rd grade: Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.
And now, the gratutious link! www.sadako.org |

| I think that Hiro tearing up the comic was a big turning point for his character. He's so focused on collectibles (See: Hiro's desk. lol) and material things and has got his head in the clouds, but once he realizes that he's special and that he can make a difference and possibly save thousands of lives, he let's himself let go of that prized possession. It's like when Zach tells Claire that she doesn't need to be pretty or popular with an ability like hers, except that Hiro really takes it to heart on his own instead of having to be convinced. I think the dialogue with his grandfater was really sweet, too. It makes you really want his character to succeed. Well, that and no one wants to see NYC destroyed. |

| Yeah, I think the ripping of the comic was definitely symbolic. He's leaving behind "childish things" and becoming a man. |
