I think Takei's character is Hiro's biological father. I have no proof, but that's what my gut says.
I agree Stoney. Traditionally, the Japanese culture favors male children and almost exclusively, females are the only children available for adoption. It would be highly unlikely that a character as powerful as Hiro's father would adopt a male heir to his empire.
Thank you, BYD! I hadn't even thought of that aspect of the Japanese culture. What you said absolutely cements in my mind that he is indeed Hiro's biological father.
I'm not sure if he is the biological father but if he is i bet he would have some power that he is hiding... and i think he knows Hiro has a power but he doesnt want to admit it or believe him because he is scared they would take him away like they were gonna do with HRG and Claire
no, probably from the rest of his business... i don't think he is the head honcho i think he still works for someone or has partners that will want him...
It's the age old question of
"Who watches the watchmen?"
In any government,
whether ancient or modern,
who makes sure the folks
who enforce the rules
follows the rules themselves.

Absolutely Zone.
We just saw it play out on a lower level with HRG and Claire.

I think the main point to watch for here is: Is Mr. Nakamura one that is helping fund folks like Claude? A man of power and prestige that secretly harbors a power similar to his younger son.. This man then lets his son find ways to explore his gifts while still maintaining face. And he secretly hopes that his son will evade detection and capture by his colleagues...
this my first time posting on this message board, and as a newbie to this forum i ask open-mindedness and mercy in your responses when i put forth this theory:
the Uluru in all it s scariness is standing before a lone human in glasses(Hiro i say Hiro because of the natural progression of comicbook stories, the comics have been about Hiro so far), maybe Hiro's dad turns into a giant rock creature when ever he gets super pissed, a la the Hulk.
there it is my theory not much not much really, i know, but something i was thinking about. now if this is flawed in some way or someone mentioned this idea already please let me know. again i ask for restrint in your replies.
Peace
Nakamura Sr. is either VERY high up, or in charge of the company of which Primatech is a part. My reasoning is the reverence and respect with which he's treated by Claude and HRG on the roof of the Deveaux building.
Nakamura Sr. is Hiro's biological Father, but is completely unaware of Hiro's ability. He knows what he's doing, where he's going, but he's putting it all down to the fact that his son is a dreamer. The reason he doesn't know Hiro has an ability? He doesn't have one himself, so the prospect of Hiro being evolved would probably be dismissed from his mind early on. Nakamura is your stereotypical rich and powerful japanese "business warrior" and is surprised to learn that it is his daughter, not his son who wants to take the reins of the family empire, and is constantly disappointed by his son's dreams of being a hero. This is not the attitude of a man who knows that his son is superhuman. Also, remember that, from a bystander or surveillance operative's point of view, there is no evidence to suggest that Hiro is doing anything when time stops. All that happens is that, between one moment and the next, something changes.
Incidentally, it seems that without Suresh's formula (the one his Father's program uses to identify evolved persons from their genetic code) it's ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to detect advanced evolution in a person who has not manifested the effects of their advanced evolution. I'm thinking Nakamura, Primatech and Linderman have gotten all their information about evolved persons from evidence and reports of the manifestations of those persons abilities.
Nakamura Sr's interest in the evolved humans is the same as Primatech's.
Hiro's sister has the same ability as Charlie
I am also now of the opinion that there are no "good" and "bad" people or agencies. Everybody has their own agenda, and everybody believes they are doing what is right. Unfortunately, most of them are wrong.

Slippy, that's quite a theory. Let me just add this tidbit, lest we forget. Hiro was named for the attack on Hiroshima, in fact he's a child of that nuclear fallout. While his father doesn't know of his power yet, I foresee a point in the future where other children of the fallout will possible come from Japan (remember the show is going international next year) at which point maybe Mr. Nakamura will catch on and start to realize his son is special.... and maybe his daughter also (props to you if that proves true).
