Hiro had to work at his power by concentrating. It didnt come easy like Claire who doesnt have to concentrate. If his sister or father has a power, then it maybe that they also have to concentrate. Since they dont really have their heads in comics like Hiro, they may not take the time and may not have discovered their power. I would like to think that they have powers but may not discovered them yet.
I would definitely like to see that Hiro's father, at least, has a power. It's probably not something he can use in his business like, magically picking good stocks, because didn't they say that the company was going down the hole?
Well we sure find out about Hiro's dad in Episode 17. I am sure he knows more about what Hiro can go then he let on in the Episode that he has already been in. I don't think that he has a power.
According to the Thug in the back of the van with Hiro and Ando, Hiro's father is one who has "true power", or something. A bit of a cryptic remark for this show . . . Did it seem to anyone else like Hiro's dad sort of glossed over the whole super-powered mission?
I think he definitely has a power. The question is what is it? I think it has something to do with knowing what Hiro was up to in America. Anyone have any theories on this?
Here is my theory, and I will post it on "Theories and Spoilers":
Mr. Nakamura is really high in the OWI (maybe even the head of it). How else would he be handing baby Claire to Mr. Bennett? But I believe, there is a power struggle within the OWI for control of what the OWI is doing and how they are doing it.
So here is my question: Did Mr. Nakamura pre-date the Atomic Bomb drop on Hiroshima? Remember that Hiro was named after that? If he was born after, he might have a power, if before, then maybe not -- if he has any powers, they are whatever powers come from the Japanese Ansestors, unless Hiro ends-up going back in time....
who are you talking about hercules? the dad born before the bomb drop? i'd say probably. but what does that have to do with powers? atomic bomb causing cells to evolve-> powers?
my thinking, maybe hiro's dad knew of hiro's power and didnt want him to stay around in the US for the "company" to come pick him up. which is why he came to get him back. but then he realizes that hiro is old enough to take care of himself? so he lets him go?
My bet is Mr Nakamura is no more Hiro's father
than HRG is Clair's father.
His handing baby Clair off to HRG
is probably the same thing that happened to him
when his boss handed him baby Hiro.
Both men must have made similar decisions
when they found out about their odopted children's abilities
because if they haven't
Hiro is going to be in a lot of trouble.
I'm betting Hiro's father DOES have a power. Does Hiro's sister have one, as well?
Also, Hiro grew up hearing the tales of Takezo Kensei (is that right?) from his father. There are a few of us psychos that think this person is Hiro, gone back to the past. Was this person one of their ancestors? Could Hiro be his own great-great-great (and so on) grandfather?

I have to admit this theory appeals to me also
although it's going to cost some money in the production budget
to replicate medieval Japan.
I just want to see Hiro in season two
no matter the century he's in.

Good point! I was pondering a similar idea myself and then I went on a tangent about what if Hiro had met a romantic interest back in another century and had a child who had a child etc etc until we get to Hiro's dad - giving him a stronger power and making him a natural for a higher position in the OWI. If Hiro is not Mr Nakanura's birth father then that erases the whole ewwe my dad is my great, great...great grandson thing. But then my head starts to hurt when I get to the whole chicken/egg loop. How did baby Hiro get into this century?
Anywhoo glad someone else had the guts to put it out there!!
