I recently finished reading all of the blog posts by Hiro and yep, it's official, Hiro's a full-blown Final Fantasy fan...does this make him an uber-nerd? I lmao'ed when I saw his reference to Setzer Gabbiani. LOL...just LOL.
Anyway, as I know there are a lot of Final Fantasy fans out there, I thought I'd let people go at it and mention which was their favorite game and why. (please don't say FF VII >.>)
Mine was FF IX, because it has all of the best elements from most of the games that came before, and retained the feel of the classic FF games like I, IV, and VI. It had interesting characters and a great storyline...plus, you just can't beat upgrading your chocobo through a mindless and monotonous minigame XD.
Let the debate begin! |

First off, I'll admit that I have never played VII or X. Or III.
I think my favorite is VI if only because I got so attatched to the characters, but IX was pretty fun, too.
Psuedo off topic: Personally, though, I didn't like II so much. It was so frustrating! |

Well, FFI was great. It would have ranked much higher, but I didn't know how to save on the NES and haven't picked up Origins for PS...
I never really got into IV or VI, although I thought that V was really good as well. Maybe that's why I liked X-2?
VII wasn't bad, but I didn't play that too much. VIII, I liked, but something did seem off. IX, I really liked, and at that point would probably have been the best.
But then came X, X-2, XI, and XII... Wow...
I liked X, but the sphere grid was kind of off - having to use up items in multitudes (some of which I don't think I EVER got) to gain abilities (and hope that you don't ever make a mistake on your sphere grid...).
X-2 was better on the leveling up, and I found the dresspheres a very good idea, but the characters were very limiting... You play Yuna, Rikku, Paine, and... that's it.
XI is good, although it has most of the MMORPG problems. It also has the monthly cost, which has always bothered me.
XII is also a great one, I think. I like the idea of the license grid, however I don't like that I have to get somewhat random abilities in order to use my character type for everybody. (For example, having to learn how to use something like Spears 3, Bows 2 and something else for my Katana/Greatsword wielder - or having to learn light or heavy armor to use the other.) You do get a steady amount of LP, so you can figure out about when you'll be able to get the ability you want, at least. |

| I <3 V, VI, VIII(most underrated), and rather fond of IX. I love FFVII but I've loved FFVII since it first came out before I knew about all the greatness it seemingly was. I despise FFX though |
