The List 21

Alright. I do not own Heroes. Any characters that you do not recognize are mine. This story takes place after the events of Season 1. This is an AU fic. Now here are some warnings. If reading anything that contains original characters, Sylar falling in love, alternate universes and Sylar struggling to become a good person is not what you are interested in please do not flame. I would like for you to read it and give me your thoughts. Thank you. Also to let you know anything in other languages will be in english but I will have a creative way of letting you know that they don't speak english. Alright lets begin.

CHAPTER ONE
The soft gentle moonlight came through the small window into the bedroom. The room was moderatley decorated with some a more down to earth flair not going to over the top. Picture frames hung on the walls showing different stages of life. To a young girl with messy and unruly brown hair going to a teenager who looked awkward and bony to when she graduated college growing into her looks after so many years of being a social outcast. Sleeping peacefully Ami Farris was under her grandmother's comforter resting peacefully her curly brown hair was splashed all over her pillows as she was deep in her dreams. Her peaceful slumber however was broken as a loud bang caused her to jump and become aleart. Getting out of the bed Ami grabbed her robe and slipped it over he flannel panjama pants and her white shirt. Walking carefully Ami came out of her bedroom into her living room/kitchen area looking around to see if their was anything happening. Walking out she made her way over to the smaller guest room and after looking inside saw that the window in their was closed and that no one was in the room. Sighing feeling stupid over some sort of bang she began to walk back to bed when a groan caused her to pause and look at her door. Ami gulped and pulling her robe closer she made her way over to the front door grabbing one of her biggest kitchen knives and holding it ready to use if someone broke through the door. Ami gently grabbed the door knob and with a few shaky breaths pulled the door open only to scream as someone fell to the ground with a powerful bang that she was sure would wake up the neighbors. Her second emotion was disgust as a putrid smell overtook her and she had to cover he mouth and nose with her hand to keep her from smelling it even more. Ami's disgust quickly changed to shock as she saw the pool of blood that was starting to form on the floor. Kneeling down she quickly turned the person holding back her disgust as she felt whatever was on this man transfer to her hands. Once the man was facing her Ami froze the knife falling from her hands.
"Gabriel?" said Ami dumb struck as she quickly ran into the living room and grabbed the phone.
"Yes hello operator. I need you to get me an ambulance." said Ami panicked. "No a man fell into my apartment. He's bleeding and he looks really pale." said Ami. "I live on 415 Prescott Lane. Apartment 412." Ami then looked at Gabriel. "Okay please hurry." Ami then hung up the phone and walked over to Gabriel kneeling again and placing a hand on his face, her face brought with concern and fear as she looked at him.

Ami was pacing the waiting room. Her attaire now slightly different than what it had been from earlier with just a pair of jeans, her old college sweater and her hair tied in a very sloppy bun. Ami was worried and every moment that passed only increased her worry. She was still shocked that Gabriel Grey had landed at her doorstep after all these years. Although she had to admit she hardly recognized him from when they were teens. Ami sat back down and her foot started to tap before she got frustraited again and started to pace. She almost cried out in joy when the doors opened and a balding man in wrinkled scrubs walked into the room. Dr. McDreamy he was not.
"Are you Ms. Farris?" asked Dr. Hendricks.
"It's Dr. Farris. I'm a child psychologist." said Ami getting up.
"Alright Dr. Farris." said Dr. Hendricks nodding.
"How is Gabriel?" Ami asked ringing her hands nervously.
"Well we just finished surgery and took him to a room in I.C.U.. I have to be honest with you Dr. Farris he has lost a lot of blood and he was lucky that the wound in his chest missed his heart and lungs. He was also lucky to not get that wound infected since it looks like he went through a sewer." said Dr. Hendricks.
"But he's going to be okay right?" Ami felt like she was on the verge of tears.
"Yes it seems that way. I have to tell you he has a very strong spirit if he's able to last this long." said Dr. Hendricks.
"Oh thank God." said Ami letting out a breath she didn't know she had. "Can I see him?".
"Yes he's up on the fourth floor but I do have to ask you to keep it short. He's very weak." said Dr. Hendricks.
"Thank you." said Ami as she walked out of the room.
Dr. Hendricks just sighed as he sat down. He was glad to actually give someone tonight some good news. His mind was still haunted by the blond haired woman and her child as he had to tell them that they couldn't save the man who was brought it with the gunshot wounds. He only hoped that he didn't have anymore surguries like this for the rest of the night.

Ami walked silently into the room and had to hold back her tears as she saw how frail Gabriel looked. His chest was bare and wrapped up tightly with gauze and who knew what else. His cuts on his face had bandages and he was hooked to an IV. Ami however fought back her emotions and walked into the room and grabbing a chair moved it over to his bedside. After a few moments of stairing at him Ami took his hand and gently rubbed it only to freeze when she felt his hand clutch hers.
"Gabriel." said Ami in a whisper as she got up and went closer to him.
Ami felt a smile forming as Gabriel looked at her and blinked as if he wasn't seeing her.
"Ami?" Gabriel said his voice hoarse and barely above a whisper.
"Yeah Gabriel it's me." said Ami. "Are you thirsty?" asked Ami.
Gabriel just nodded and Ami let go of his hand and started to looked for the water pitcher unaware of the person who was looking at her now. Sylar's eyes even though weak began to take on a predatory like glare as he looked at his old friend. Inside he could hear the ticking as his cravings started to grow. However as he tried to lift his hand a pain shot through him that made Sylar's vision blur. Sylar took another look at Ami, she was special like he was. He could see it and now he wanted whatever it was that Ami had.

Okay everyone that was chapter one. Now to adress another concern Ami will not be a Mary Sue. In fact this story will feature her as a main character but will not overshadow any of the others.
