I say no. At the end of ep 21, it looks like Peter is about to explode, but he clearly won't. I'm betting that Claire will shoot him, like he told her to. I'd say it's more likely that Sylar would explode, but we can't say for sure. Linderman (and Nathan to an extent) want to blow up New York, but how do they know this will happen? What if it doesn't happen? It can be prevented, as long as Peter controls the power (after he heals), and Sylar is stopped from getting the power, then it shouldn't happen.

I thought tha the scar in future peter's face was from the explosion, thats why.. Do you know why mikah raise his hand in the promo video?
If Sylar explode he wont be killed by hiro.. Sad
