I'm a sucker for adventure of all sorts--both self-experienced and vicarious. I do what I can to see as much of the world as possible, and to make sure that my life doesn't get too "safe."

But, I still gotta face the facts--I can't stop time. Or walk through walls. Or recover quickly from getting hit by a bus (this is only speculation--I haven't actually tried that one.) Heck, I don't even have the funds to create a suit of powered armor that shoots laser beams and allows me to fly, throw cars, and take a bullet to the face.

As such, I'll always be a junkie for all things superheroic. I also believe, however, that we all have opportunities for real heroism, and truly enjoy meeting those who step up to their own challenges.

I stumbled upon this site while feeding my need for more Heroes. Once a week just ain't enough. I found myself visiting the site a couple of times a day for a week. I figured that I should just step out and take part, rather than just lurking.

So, as we're on the introduction forum, I'll just post the basic profile stuff for myself:

Name: Deef (short for d4, which is short for something else.)
Location: Kuwait City, Kuwait (but home is Dallas, TX)
Occupation: Webman
Age: 28
Interests: Sailing, Hiking, Climbing, Traveling, Games (of all varieties), Snowboarding, Writing, Cinema, Drums, Martial Arts, and Violence in General.

Many of us take for granted the blazing speed available in the Western world for our connections to the all-encompassing interweb. Stuck in Kuwait, as I currently am, I must rely upon a slower-than-dialup connection to sustain my newfound addiction to Heroes.

Were it not for those kind souls--heroes in their own right-- posting the latest Heroes episodes on Youtube, GVid, and bittorrent, I would simply have to suffer in the sand, knowing what I'm missing. I salute you all.

From all the reading I've done so far, this board has a great bunch of people, and I'm grateful to have others around that get excited about the same silly stuff I do. Thanks for giving us a place to gather, Superhiro.

Deef, welcome aboard! This is a great ride, for the mind! Along with SuperHiro i thank you for what you are doing, it sounds as if it is military support of some type, and i applaud that!

P.S. dont try the bus test.
