ahhhh, i know this one.... the aussies right my freind... if you remember future hiro asks if the cheerleader was saved (referring, i presume, to his message to pete on the train) and said that if she had, then sylar was still vulnerable... but that he'd tried to kill sylar before and it hadn't worked... meaning that (for some bizarre reason the writers overlooked) the future they ended up was the future where the cheerleader WASN'T saved, presumeably a future where pete never went to her school to save her. difficult to work out, but if you watch the episode back and really listen to what future hero says, it kind of makes sense. god only knows why the events from pete saving the cheerleader haven't taken effect, but bare in mind this series has been full of holes since pretty early on.

anyway, taking all of this into account (if it makes ANY sense) it could have been possible for someone (maybe sylar?) to scar pete's face (in the original timeline) and then for pete to absorb the healing power from sylar... somehow... we may never know. but i really don't think pete's going to be scarred anywhere in the second season; i'm pretty sure that was more of a symbol to indicate that pete had been scarred by the whole experience of blowing up millions of innocent people and surviving the blast. or maybe i'm just out of my depth again. back in the corner......
