Peter just has to "remember how they made him feel"... He needs to remember how to feel so in a way he has to file it away, but his powers are absorbed like a sponge... so theories are right in a way. If Eden ever used his power, the way he felt will activate that power. When Sylar was flingin locker doors at him he was probably a little startled and scared, and both time he used his TK he was in similar situations; Claude was beatin his ass with a stick and Isaac was wielding a firearm... Now the question is (and this may not even matter) does he have to recall that specific emotion or is their a "feeling" he gets when he uses each power?

If not, that sucks cuz i don't know where else this clip is posted, but between reading the graphic novels, this clip and my hero knowledge i'm going to officially change my stance and say that Linderman is Nathan and Peters dad..... ya'll make your own theories.
But, he also doesn't seem to have the ability to shut off his powers (as we see with Dale's power)
In my opinion, I actually believe that Sylar can in fact now choos as he pleases between his powers. Perhaps the reason he couldn't "shut off" Dale's ability when he first got it is because he had no idea to control it (which would sort of shoot down your/my theory about reconfiguring his DNA for each different ability because if that was the case, then why didn't he just go into telekinesis mode when he was getting the headaches in the car).
Another possible reason is that perhaps Dale's ability is like Claire's in that it is always active. I mean, technically if Sylar doesn't want to move anything with his telekinesis, then even if he were to look at an object, he just wouldn't focus his mind on moving it. Simple as that.
With hearing, however, it's not something that you can just turn off... even in a normal scenario. We just can't "stop" hearing when we want to unless we physically close our ears out. Perhaps now Sylar does have control over Dale's ability and he can turn it off and on when he pleases (I don't believe that the Mohinder/Sylar situation is a good example because he was under the influence of Curara which caused him to lose control of his powers), but until he tells us otherwise, then I'm going to have to stick to stay on the bandwagon for your old theory, Fatal But Jorm, I call shotgun ...
...do bandwagons even have front seats?... ...lol...

i think peter survives as if you remember an old episode where hiro from the future said "you look different without your scar"
Well i think sylar gave the scar to peter at the end of episode 18 and i think peter will force sylar away with sylars telekinesis powers (peter used them on roof during training)
and i think the next episode will be amazing but puhleaze too many breaks really, this is the second break heroes has had and i get withdrawal symptoms.

Welcome to the forum, Broken
It's definitely a possible turn of events, but we must remember that Peter does have his healing factor from Claire, so if he were to get a scar from Sylar's cut, then something must have blocked his healing ability. In addition, there's an interview clip floating around with Milo Ventimiglia (Peter's actor) and he says that Sylar's cut and the "scar" are two totally different things... but only time will tell
And I agree, lol - although it's only been two breaks, it feels like a million. What adds to the intensity is the drastic cliffhangers they leave us with... back in December it was revealing that Peter is the bomb (or may be, at least), and right now it is what seems like the death of Peter. However, I think that winter Heroes break was much easier to deal with because we had the holiday season to occupy our minds... on the other hand, we pretty much know that Peter will not die, so it's a toss up between which break was harder to deal with ~sigh~ only two more weeks exactly (that is, if they air episode 19 on Sunday, April 22nd, in Canada!)

Once again, welcome broken
Thanks for the welcome, but how does peter survive from sylar then? cant exactly think of claire and heal when ya dead can ya?
I don't have any tenure, Broken, but I'll welcome you anyways
The first time Peter healed was when he was already dead, and Claire showed up. He didn't know he could heal yet, but her presence triggered it. I think this will be similar: Peter's on a couch at Ma Patrelli's, Claire was last seen with Ma, and we see a shot of Claire on a staircase in some pretty posh looking digs. *glares at ugly apartment* I think we'll see her do her thing again.
Something that doesn't make sense to me: Peter's supposed to think of someone to call up their ability. When he starts defending himself from Claude, he uses the telekinesis that he doesn't realize he had, and didn't even know he got from Sylar until Claude asks about it. What's up with that?

Perhaps, then, Peter recalling powers has to do with the emotions/attitude he felt at the time of first absorbing that power. When he is getting beaten by Claude, his body is in the adrenaline pumping defense-mode, the same state it was in when he confronted Sylar, which is when he first absorbed TK. Likewise, perhaps Peter's body will then associate the feeling of pain with that of Claire's healing factor. Hmmm....
Here's something I don't think we've thought of - what if Peter absorbs some more powers from Sylar and thus the reason that Mohinder thinks he is "dead," and furthermore the reason he is lying on Angela Petrelli's couch, is because he once again overloads, faints, and goes into a coma.
Here's my thought: I want to see the *expletives deleted* episode!!!
NOW.
....make that yesterday, so that instead of just feeling stoopified by all the awesomeness, everyone will be able to think and theorize and say, oh, that totally makes sense now.
Although, I really do like that they've released 2 new previews, each with a little snippet of what's to come. I think they should have been doing that all long - perhaps one new preview every week with just a tiny scene that we haven't seen yet. Bah1 week 3 days
I saw a commercial where they had a countdown timer. Ipointed it out to my wife who at first didnt know what it was about but then when I told her it was for Heroes she rolled her eyes. 9 days is sooooo far away!

...just a theory... thoughts?
I think the break has been too long. Theories are getting recycled.
