Not Stupid. Ando is Hiro's cousin and best friend. He KNOWS that Hiro is a naiive spirit, who will need help dealing with the harsh realities of life. Besides which, he's probably reporting directly to Hiro's Father or Sister.

Not Stupid. He thought that the Curare dosage he was giving Sylar would be enough to stop him using his powers. He didn't want to kill him straight away - he needed to study him further. Unfortunately he was hasty, scared and excited and didn't double check everything. Sylar managed to turn off the IV - the rest is history.

Focus more on character and emotion, rather than intricacies and methodology, and you may just start to enjoy it.

Im hoping for a few things...earlier, we find out Hiro was "flagged" from the hotel, most ppl thought it was from when ando + hiro were gambling.....what if linderman KNEW hiro was there to get his sword....(maybe not but maybe)
what if that isnt ando =[ what if theres a shapeshifter (not reality bender, but a shapeshifter) that works for Linderman. Linderman sends said shapeshifter to hiro, helps him get the sword and basially just wants the shapeshifter to timetravel with hiro. a stretch yes, but its almost more plausible then "omg ando was following him all along!"
I also neglected to mention above that the ability to fly at supersonic speed is of ABSOLUTELY NO USE WHATSOEVER in the ground-floor kitchens of a hotel. It's Linderman's hotel, so Linderman's men would be everywhere. If Nathan had shot Linderman, then Nathan himself would also have been dead before he reached the exit from the kitchens.
The other thing that needs to be mentioned here is this:
Over analyzing a show like this borders on dementia. Yeah, maybe it's been done before, yeah, maybe it's been done better -- but who cares? Who's done it on TV? Who's pulled it off on TV with this kind of quality?
That's what's important. You want to "flame"? Flame on. But leave the rest of us alone to enjoy this show. Beacause we will. We might not always agree on interpretation, and we might not always agree because we don't have all the info, but we still enjoy a very well executed show for the small screen.
After all, will you rather be watching this show OR the 20th iteration of some reality TV show crap?
Me, I'll take Peter vs. Sylar, and HRG trying to stumble and bumble his way past the OWI any time....and let's not forget Hiro......

Anyway, I don't think that the plotlines the writers are trying to form is stupid. Far from it.
Mainly what is happening now is them setting the scene and tone for next season as well. You need to have some diverging storylines, create a few subplots, and give depth to these that will be revealed after a time brewing.
Nearly like mentioning Linderman back in episode 1, but not reavealing him until episode 18, even though he could have made cameo appearances well before this time. I have to think that there's going to be a couple more of these episodes that are going to be leaving us with more questions than answers, and those are going to be teasers for the next season, just to keep us on our collective toes. Much as waiting five weeks between episodes does (darn newtorks anyway!)
You know what I think it stupid? People logging onto a website to claim their adoration and devotion to a show, only to bash the writers who make a stupid story. If you're a fan, that means that you take the show as is. Enjoy the show, and suck it up a little bit. If you want to flame, make a new topic, and let others vent as well!

(An aside: I may be misreading, but Jormengrund, the end of your post makes it look like I was the one flaming. In case anyone else reads it the same way - Jormengrund was talking about the guy flaming on the prev.page - I was defending Heroes, honest!)
Incidentally, the scene at the end? Hiro and Ando in the future post-holocaust? That's the writers saying "It's happened. He couldn't stop it. He won't stop it. The New York Story will be done at the end of the season."
It's official. The previous spoilers I posted, the change to Hiro's blog, all of it is saying the same thing.

I'd have to agree that nothing in this show is stupid. There are flaws with everything, and television is certainly no exception (for example, with reality shows, it's the fact that everything is edited to seem overly dramtic and ridiculous, causing us to form opinions about people we have never met and don't even know aside from what TV stations WANT US to see), and just because some things may not make perfect sense in a TV show, it does not mean that the writers are flaking out on us or doing a poor job. The fact that Heroes is one of the top rated shows right now on television says a lot. This is a show that provides an outlet for all of us who have wild imaginations, dreams of flying, and being a superhero. It brings out the kids in all of us while still remaining true to the fact that it is a serious drama. And plus, I'd rather be watching Heroes 24/7 than The Real World, or Days of our Lives. Lol...
Yes, Heroes is quite a bit better than much of the horrible crap out there. But they do resort to silly pop-corn predictability every now and then.
What an ugly scar to have! "You look different without the scar..." But a Sylar-full lobotomy scar? Why doesn't it heal? Does Peter loose his powers out of fear and have to get rescued by someone else? Or are his power mimicking abilities limited by distance? Claire leaves the country and thus is too far away to use her power.
Here's what'll happen at the start of epi 19: Sylar will be cutting Peter's head, while Peter screams. He;ll close his eyes and then suddenly appear in future NYC with Hiro and Ando, on the roof. He'll not be able to heal because Claire, and all of NYC, will be dead in that timeline. So he'll loose the power. The only power he'll be able to use is Hiro's... but Hiro will get scared in teleport into ancient Japan, leaving Peter and Ando stranded in the future.

This battle will be short lived. Peter will come through it ok. So will Sylar. So will Mohinder. There will be another confrontation. That's my gut feeling. 5 more episodes to go.
