It also doesn't help that I understand what they're saying and it annoys me when the translation is wrong. Which has happened several times. I don't know, it's a pet peeve.
Agreed completely. Same goes for the Japanese. (like when Hiro says dai pinchi at the end of last season and they translate it as !@$% as if he is cursing. All that means is "Big pinch" as in "this is a very complicated situation")
The best thing i liked was Peter's story and the development of Bob and Adam. They are doing a good job of making both characters seem to be in "gray" area and not necessarily completely evil and sinister. Both Bob and Adam seem to be doing what they think is right.
However, everything else was a huge disappointment. I have been saying from the beginning how much I do not like Maya and Alejandro's plot. I never have gotten into their characters. Dania Ramirez is sexy but they should have given her a better character. Im tired of their same old emotional bs. Even her massacre was not what I was hoping to be. Beforehand they were trying to make it out that she was purposely sinister but again she is a victim of her emotions. WEAAAK. Alejandro is pretty useless as well. And yea i agree that it was stupid that they had nothing on Sylar. I know they may be having problems with writing and quintos sched, but they should have kept him gone through this season then. They have completely neglected his badass character. And still their storylines have not had any connection yet either. Way too late now to make ammends. Everybody is already annoyed with where there story is going if even anywhere. Episode 8 has passed and they still are on the run and have not even come to any place important. BAD WRITING! Sylar would have been more effective if we had not heard from him all season and if they decide to whip him out in the last 1 or 2 eps rather than what they have done with his character. They seem to have run out of ideas of what to do with him. We can see where this is going and its not that interesting.
As to the whole Nikki storyline, it speaks for itself. CRAP.
if he really was a bad guy would he have helped Nathan? what can he possibly do to harm anyone?... other than hit them in the back of the head like he did Hiro
his ability is centered around himself and cant harm anyone... he may have given off a bad impression when he promised to cause his pain and suffering but that was over 400 years ago.... he probably had time to think it through
and the company this whole time has been thought to be bad, why all of a sudden do people think that since the new guy is good?
i have hope in Adam and im convinced hes a good guy i havnt read spoilers so i dont know the truth.. but i think hes good...
and i dont understand why the hell peter and Adam didnt just fly away when they saw the Haitan and Elle or when they left the hospital....

Welcome, Gorgondola!
Anyway, by helping Nathan, Adam pretty much got Peter in his pocket. Peter, convinced by this "selfless act" of his, will help him with almost anything he asks. It's basic psychology, especially with a pushover like Peter. Adam's been around for 400 years. I'm sure he can read people like a book, and know just how to manipulate people to reach his goals.

That also gave it time to stew over and become even worse. Most good people forgive and forget, but if a person is lacking in the sanity and/or morals department, it could be a grudge that lasts a really long time. 400 years, even.

You and me both. Plot hole, much?
Unless the Haitian's range has increased, and Peter couldn't fly, but who knows.
that makes sense... the thing about manipulating peter.. but how could he use peter to "save the world"?
if the world needs saving and its Adams plan... im guessing Adam needs to participate in it in some way... and like i said he cant be harmful just by using his own ability.
this episode brought everything together for me... up until now i basically thought that season 2 was a failure but now that everything is revealed basically and i know whats going on i love it again
although im pissed off in the commercial it said that we find out how sylar is still alive and the whole sewer thing... but i got nothing !!!! lol
Just rewatched the episode. In the end where the Haitian goes after Peter, why didn't he just fly away instead of running? Doesn't seem to make sense to me. The scene with Angela and Heidi really sticks out too with her grabbing Heidi's arm when she asks her if she can count on her to keep the secret! Also, after watching DL get shot again, it really makes me mad! I also like Peter little twisted smile at the end of the episode when Adam asks him if they should save the world! It almost looks evil!

Good points Mattk25.
Previously, with the Haitian around, Peter was able to just take off and fly away. Oh, but he couldn't do that in this Episode. WHY?
Second point: What is up with all the touching Angela is doing? I have brought it up in the Angela power thread.... but is that a manifestation of her power then?
Overall a great episode, but also it showed what is wrong with "Heroes". In a way, except for Episode # 7 last week, the first six episodes of the year where unnecessary. This episode had the sort of pacing and plot development we were used to seeing last year. In addition, the characters moved, not necessarily in the predictable ways we expected, but they developed as characters SHOULD DO for a character drama to survive. This is again similar with how the show became successful last year. Yet, this is the same formula that has been missing for much of this year. And I am referring of course to the first 6 episodes of the year.
Niki's character went somewhere. So did D.L. (and what a damned lame way to kill him after making him an interesting character). New characters were introduced, but they moved and were developed in arcs that paralleled those of the existing characters. This is how new characters should be introduced. I actually have pity and sympathy for Elle and how the company has used her and abused for all of these years. And look at how the Haitian betrayed the Petrellis... yet, he could have done so much more, when he caught Peter. What motivates the Haitian? Will we ever find out beyond the graphic novel?
But see... I cared about the characters yesterday (Monday). For the first 6 episodes, all I wanted to do was talk spoilers and find out what was going to happen next.
"Heroes" has got my attention again as a good TV drama. The only other show so far this year that has managed that....?
Maja & Alej: I found the plot interesting enough. At the moment it seems completely detached from the story, and that's what the problem is. As it stands, the whole M&A&S corner may as well not exist. BUT! I'm sure we will see (or would have seen) this line merge with the main plotline, in a stupendously awesome and breathtaking collision. But now that season two is potentially cut in half, it may lead to a dead end.
I agree with this. I think Maya & Alejandro will play a very important part in the storyline, but this break in the season isn't going to help. I do think we need more info on HOW Maya got her power, but that may come later.

Niki, DL & Mikah: Wow, this kid's life sucks. Niki has a 12-year-old crack-addict personality - And DL got taken down by a pimp with a gun =/ After fighting fires and saving lives, I must say it was a comedown. I really like Ali Larter - she's brilliant, but I feel the writers pretty much screwed her this season. And it would be so easy to fix as well..
Writers, please, no more of this whiny victim cr*p! Let Jessica win the personality battle -for good- so Ali can kickass and break hearts (and necks) happily ever after!.
I'm so PISSED about the way DL got killed! Not COOL at all! I also think it sucked majorly that Niki didn't turn in to Jessica and rip the killers head off! She just passed out on the wall. Are you kidding me??! This needs to be made up to us and quickly!

(Don't worry 'bout Mikah; his new family is awesome)
Peter etc: I find it reasonable that he let the company lock him away and drug him. Anything to avoid hurting people. I thought Peter and Adam had great chemistry on screen, so I look forward to seeing a lot more of the Duo. I think we've established that Adam is a darkhearted tyrant. But, to be honest, right now I don't care if he manipulates Peter and threatens humanity - He fixed Nathan! That earns him a pedestal. Up you go Kensei. Please have some waffles!

Come on guys. The Haitian's power is something he has to chose to do and focus on doing. He was definitely focussing when they chased Adam and Peter at the hospital.
As for the rooftop. If you watch carefully, they were targetting Claude - not Peter. Maybe they didn't consider that he had powers at all - and Claude wasn't even using his, since they were casting shadows (meaning they weren't in 'visible to viewers' mode). Even if Claude and Peter were invisible (hence the IR goggles), the Haitian had his power OFF to get close without being noticed.
The way I see it, the Haitian started blocking powers from the moment Peter used TK to stop the stun-gun projectiles. But Peter dragged Claude off the roof, falling several hundred meters (and well out of range) before he began to fly.
if he really was a bad guy would he have helped Nathan?
hes a bad guy. and yes he would have helped nathan because doing that secured peter's trust, and put peter right in adams pocket.
*edit* just saw obsidians post, i practically said the same thing... oops

the hatians range is huge, we know this because weve seen it in the past.
for example, when the hatian and hrg are talkin the car park at the paper company, matt is being blocked, at a similar distance to what adam/peter and elle/the hatian were this time.
id guess that to put this range of power dampening out probably involves some effort on the part of the hatian.
basically, its not a plot hole, the hatian stopped him.

Maya and her Anti Maya brother, Lame so far I agree ! I do not understand why people are wanting to know where Maya got her powers or What is inside her causing it....................I think its just like all the other Heroes, it is Genetic.
Look, however you put it, "Heroes" has decided NOT to answer some questions, just like that other show we (or some of us like -- "Lost"). They have not really answered how the Haitian's power works (at least the blocking ability). And they have not really answered how Maya's and Alejandro's powers work.
Is that bad? Is that a plot hole? Not necessarily? Does it detract from the story for some people? Yes! For me it does. I would like to know a bit more.
Personally, I have liked the Haitian from the beginning. He sits, just on that shade of gray, and he some times does things that can be categorized as good.
As for Maya and Alejandro they have grown on me. Regardless of the marriage massacre scene.... I just have not liked how they have allowed Sylar to manipulate them. That has been TOTALLY LAME and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY.
So can Peter heal with his own blood since he has Adam's power? Why can't he just reflect the Haitian's power during a conflict? Because he's still "untrained"? *yawn*
This episode was chock-full of crap that makes very little sense.
Look, this whole regeneration/immortality thing is spinning out of control.
"If they could've found a way to kill me..."
Gee, let me count the ways:
1. Drown you and keep you under water.
2. Throw you into outer space.
3. Bring the Haitian and then shoot you in the face.
4. Lodge something in your brain and bury you under ground.
5. Throw you into a volcano.
6. Cut off your damn head.
Are these so hard to figure out? Or is Kensei's power even more absurd than we could ever imagine?
Also, as I mentioned elsewhere, the fact that the phasing character on this show was shot on three separate occasions is outrageously unimaginative. The only time it made ANY sense was when Jessica shot him from a distance.
Think about it. D.L. can phase through a sucker punch to the face but can't phase before a guy whips out a gun and shoots him. Whaaaaaa...?
Also, why did D.L. allow himself to get hurt by Linderman? Why not just grab Niki and phase instead of taking a needless bullet to the stomach?
The writers aren't thinking these things out to their logical conclusions and it's hurting the show.
That's why:
1. Sylar is still alive.
2. There are more "secret" Mendez paintings.
3. They need to prevent ANOTHER "evil future"
4. D.L. has been shot on three separate occasions
5. Hiro jumps through time and changes it all around, but sometimes it has HUGE consequences and other times it has NONE.
Speaking of Hiro, apparently without his romp in the past, Adam may not have founded the company later. Yet it the pre-existing timeline, clearly Adam was already part of the story (unless you are to suggest that our narrative is constantly skewed by an unknown number of time travelers).
Honestly, Hiro's actions make serious changes for the "evil future," but his actions in the past are of little consequence to the present (already as if his future self had been in the past before he was born).
All this being said, I just watch this show to tune out and have fun these days. Any inkling I had that it might surpass LOST in quality has been squashed by Claire's acting, West and Sylar's so-what presence, and generally sloppy story writing. The GN series actually seems to be more coherent, and sometimes more interesting, which is good for the GN, but bad for the show.
I believe there is a plot hole with the haitian since last season. I mean, why could Nathan fly away while the haitian and HRG were so near him at the hotel's parking lot in Vegas ???? The writers are not counting on our memory.....
I see so many questions, Talmidi. Some good suggestions too (I liked the volcano idea). There are possible answers for a lot of your queries.
Why can't he just reflect the Haitian's power during a conflict?
~ Because Haitian's power nullifies Peter's power, long before he can 'do' anything (ie reflect).
"If they could've found a way to kill me..."
Are these so hard to figure out? Or is Kensei's power even more absurd than we could ever imagine?
~ I was under the impression this was one of Kensei's lies, and that he was 'alive' because the company were still using him.
Also, as I mentioned elsewhere, the fact that the phasing character on this show was shot on three separate occasions is outrageously unimaginative.
The writers aren't thinking these things out to their logical conclusions and it's hurting the show.
~ Or DL isn't thinking things through Maybe he's just a bit of a slow learner. He 'thinks' about phasing through things, I've never seen it happen as a reflex or reaction.
Speaking of Hiro, apparently without his romp in the past, Adam may not have founded the company later. Yet it the pre-existing timeline, clearly Adam was already part of the story (unless you are to suggest that our narrative is constantly skewed by an unknown number of time travelers).
~ Or maybe Hiro’s destiny is inevitable. The future happens as though he already tampered with the past, because when the time comes he has no choice but to go back and tamper. Fate sucks, doesn't it
Anyway, sorry to hear you're not enjoying the show. Maybe you fan fill in your fun-void by creating some games for all those little things that annoy you.
