Japan

Hiro is trapped by White Beard & Kensei by placing opium fumes under his face, keeping him from being able to concentrate and freeze time. White Beard has offered Kensei half of the country and Yaeko for his capture of Hiro. Kensei vows to change history.

Odessa, Ukraine

HRG & the Haitian take pictures of the Mendez paimtings that lead to HRG's death. One of them shows Mohinder (Mo) having just fired a company issued gun. HRG calls Mo and asks if he has a gun? He does not. Mo begins to questions HRG's motives and plan. HRG says his family is in danger. Mo quips,"that makes me expendable?". Niki enters and Mo hangs up. HRG burns the paintings.

Company HQ

Bob is evacuating the facility. Matt explains that his father, Maury, is the killer and that his next target is Bob.

NYC 2008

Peter & Caitlin are in a deserted NYC. Men in Hazmat gear grab them and take them off for decontamination.

COMMERCIAL

Bennett home

Claire gets a text from West. He has come over and made waffles (Yatta) for the Bennett/Butler family. West shows Claire the newspaper clipping of their little incident with Debbie. Claire realizes that it is much more serious than West is taking it, but kisses him anyway.

Company HQ

Bob, Matt, Nathan, Mo & Niki discover that Maury's cxar is parked nearby. They decide to hold their ground at the Company HQ rather than evacuate. Nathan asks about the history of the Company, but Bob changes the focus of the discussion to Maury and his imminent danger. Bob suggestd using the virus to take down Maury. Bob tells Matt that he has the same power as Maury and the he is the only one who can stop Maury short of killing him. Matt says that he does not have the needed control and can't do it.

Japan

Yaeko picks the lock that binds her hands and moves the opium away from Hiro. The guard conveniently stays away from his post. Hiro gains his senses and escapes with Yaeko and her father.

NYC 2008

Peter and Caitlin are hosed down and decontaminated. Peter is told that he is dead, along with 93% of the world's population, due to the March 20th outbreak of the Chanti virus. Peter is shown a room of corpses, representing this week's victims.

COMMERCIAL

Company HQ

Matt is at Molly's bedside, remembering his childhood. He uses his power to tell Molly that he loves. The machine records some indication of movement in Molly's brain.

Mo & Niki discuss using the virus and Mo's ability t0o cure it with his blood. Niki states that the Company saved her life when they could have just tested the virus on her. DL appears and calls Niki a killer. He tells her that she will never see Micah again. Mo enter rounds the corner and DL disappears. They leave and Maury appears.

Nathan asks Bob who Adam is? Bob says that Adam is leading Maury and that he is the one behind the killings. Adam had theories of some kind of holocaust to save the world and Linderman was his disciple. Adam was locked up but escaped 2 weeks ago. Nathan asks why he should care? Bob tells him that Peter is still alive.

NYC 2008

Peter is taken to Angela. She tells him that he has all kinds of powers, but he does not recognize her. She tells him that his brother Nathan died and that he must use his powers to go back in time to save Nathan, who was killed by the virus. Peter cannot control his powers and does not remember any brother. Eventually, Peter concentrates and is able to remember his "Mom".

COMMERCIAL

Bennett home

Claire and West are kissing and sharing an ipod. Claire asks again about the marks on West's neck, but all he remembers is HRG. Claires goes to get popsicles after trying to tell West that HRG is her Dad. HRG returns home, West flips out and runs for the patio with Claire. She finally tells West that HRG is her Dad and he flies away. She offers her extra pop(sicle) to her pop.

Japan

Yaeko feels that all is lost for Japan. Hiro believes that there is still good inside of Kensei. Hiro teleports away to destroy White Beard's guns.

Company HQ

Mo & Niki are collecting the virus. Maury again attacks Niki with a vision of DL and she cannot resist it. Bob appears and shoots DL. As Dl dies he pleads for Niki to kill Bob, to save Micah. Mo tries to help Niki, but is rewarded for his efforts with a massive power punch to his nose as he goes sprawling over a table.Niki grabs the virus and leaves.

Japan

Hiro teleports to the guns and begins to distribute gunpowder all around them. Kensei appears and Hiro attempts to appeal to his gppd side, but Kensei refuses to rejoin Hiro. They duel, but Hiro will not kill Kensei, a lantern falls and fire spreads. Hiro disarms Kensei just as the fire reaches the numerous kegs of gunpowder. Hiro implores Kensei to take his hand and teleport away. Kensei refuses and swears to lay waste to anything that Hiro loves. Hiro teleports just in time, then.....BOOM, Kensei is still inside as the armory explodes.

COMMERCIAL

Company HQ

Bob admits to Nathan that he "lost track" of Peter. The door to his office is being crushed inward by Niki. Matt hears the noise and leaves Molly's bedside to investigate. Matt is now in his childhood home on the day that his father left him. Molly is trapped inside Matt's childhood home, and now Matt is trapped there as well. Niki breaks through Bob's door and looks quite angry. Matt concentrates and summons Maury into the dreamworld. Nathan attempts to calm Niki down as she heads for Bob with the virus. Nathan reminds her of Micah, Niki attacks, but chooses to plunge the needle into her arm. "I had to stop myself" she says. Matt berates his father for his choices and proclaims himself to be a good father. Matt points out that he can leave this nightmare because it is not his nightmare, but it is Maury's. Matt and Molly exit, leaving Maury alone in his own hell. Matt awakens at Molly's bedside, Maury is unconscious on the floor. Molly awakens and exclaims that she heard Matt when he said that he loved her.

NYC 2008

Caitlin is on the other side of a chain fence and is being deported. Peter goes to her but they are pulled apart. Peter is then teleported back to Montreal in present time, alone.

COMMERCIAL

Japan

White Beard's camp is in ruins following the explosion and his army disperses. Hiro takes Kensei's mask and teleports away to Yaeko. Hiro explains the story of Kensei and the Dragon to Yaeko and bids his farewell to her with a kiss as the cherry blossoms fall. Hiro teleports away.

Company HQ

Mo is giving Niki a transfusion as she apologizes for crushing his nose. Something is wrong, the antibodies aren't working. Niki realizes that she is going to die.

Yamagoto Industries, Japan, present

Ando is in his cubicle working and Kensei's mask appears on his desk. He turns to see Hiro! He explains that it has been months since they saved the world. Hiro is excited that they stopped the bomb and wants to see his father. Ando tells Hiro that Kaito is dead....murdered.

Compant HQ

Mo tells Bob that there is no cure for the virus. Bob directs Mo to Claire Bennet and advises that her regenerative power might be a cure. Bob issues Mo a "company" gun and tells him that HRG killed Ivan, HRG's mentor. Mo tells Bob that he had been working with HRG to overthrow the company, but Mo is now unsure of what is right and what is wrong? Bob states that Claire is the key.

Bennett home

HRG learns of Claire's new boyfriend and confronts her about the newspaper clippping. He asks if the boyfriend put her up to this? Claire begins yelling at HRG asking him what he was doing on his "business trip". HRG states that the family is moving and is no longer safe. Claire says that they can without her and storms off.

Montreal

Peter is trying to concentrate and use his powers, but fails. A hand appears around the corner and Peter shoots it with a lightning bolt. The hand chars and then heals, as Kensei comes around the corner and greets Peter. He tells Peter that he is Adam Munroe and that together they are going to change history.

Awesome episode! It looks as though Mo might end up being the one who shoots HRG by the looks of the paintings, I think they are linked, from the same scene.

Was great to see Kensei make his appearance in the present at last, not hugely surprising, but a well crafted entrance. Smile

It ties in rather well with what Bob was saying earlier abut him, and he's obviously got some very big plans. Sparks are really going to fly if he meets Hiro!

Looks like we've gotten a good explanation of what's going on in the future, the virus mutates so that it can take out regular humans as well as Heroes. We see this beginning already after Niki injects herself, not good!

Good to see Matt get his own back and teach his father a lesson, Molly is finally free! Good stuff.

We've now seen a few of the paintings come true, Peter looking through the glass at the corpses, Hiro and Kensei fighting, and Niki banging away. (These should really be added to the synopsis). Great to see Hiro back in the present at last, things feel more normal now.

Thanks for the summary BYD. My DVR messed up for some reason and I missed the first 20 minutes of the episode. I thought what I saw of the episode was pretty good though. Adam Monroe was finally revealed and I'm sure not alot of people were surprised at his identity. I guess the evacuation was due to the Chanti virus after all. Wonder who gets their hands on it since Bob said he will destroy all the viles, unless he's just covering himself. We now also know it was HRG who kidnapped West, and he questioned Claire like he was being set up by her. I'm wondering if it's just a ploy or if it is really true he didn't know. I thought it was good to see Matt turn the tables on his dad. Seems Matt is learning and improving in his abilities every day.

After watching the scene with Angela and Peter I'm wondering if her power has something to do with the mind like the Haitian? It seemed to me she was feeding him memories, but I could be wrong. Now I'm really wondering who took Peter's memory because it would appear he helped Adam escape and Adam is going to convince him to help him kill those in the company. Doesn't sound like the Haitian was involved to me. Maybe he really just has amnesia or something.

Well a couple things come to mind.

What was Peter doing when he was remembering all those things?
At first I thought it was Peter reading his mom's mind but does he just hear people's thoughts or has the power he got from Matt developed already? Or does his mom have some mental projecting ability? I'm confused.

But I did find it interesting that she was still alive a year later. Shouldn't she either be in jail or dead? Something changed from the first timeline. Maybe in that future timeline Adam is again detained and Maury is dead from the virus.

I'm super excited to see everything come together! Adam seems to have lived his 400 years as a bitter man. He vowed to kill everything that Hiro loves so he is an obvious candidate to be Kaito's killer... but I'm still hesitant to say that since Kaito said "of all of them I never expected you." And if you put someone in jail for 30 years you'd assume he would've expected him. As for Peter maybe helping I'll just say that he was in Cork when Kaito died right? The only thing I can think is that HRG and Adam both want to take down the company and HRG helps convince Peter to kill Kaito for the greater good... and if this is pre-mind wipe/amnesia than Peter would still have the malice for the company (from being locked up after the explosion) and trust for HRG b/c he's his Niece's "dad". Anyway.... Good f'n episode. I can't wait to see next week's episode so we can see what happened on that fateful night!

Did you notice the preview for the next episode...It showed the Haitian and Peter together I didn't really pay attention to what they were talking about but blah blah blah *help you* blah blah

on the preview for next weeks episode if you slow it down it looks like the haitian is pushing peter into the shipping container... maybe peter had a secret that he himself couldnt know and he asked the haitian to take it from him to keep the secret safe from anyone who may look for peter etc...then hid himself into the container.... just a thought..

Well this episode was just brilliant! And it brought to fruition a few theories that I thought might happen: Kensei being 'immortal' and living through to the current age; the Shanti Virus being the new 'bomb' / 'Macguffin' for those in the know and Matt being forced under necessity to develop his ability to face off against his dad. And then of course there is the matter of those intriguing paintings... WILL it end up being Mohinder shooting HRG? (I think so, but as ever, there'll be more than meets the eye). And WILL Bob end up being Elle's father? Are the Heroes writers getting more predictable or am I just getting more brilliant? Razz

But it looks like next week is where it really all kicks off, with Peter finding out about his past, Elle being more revealed... And it's looking like Hiro and Claire have got their stories kick started again. Hiro vs Adam Monroe should be interesting watching Very Happy

Didn't think Kensei would really die, to be honest!

And regarding, Peter, I think he just... Matt-Parkman'd his brain. It's not really *reading his mind* per se, because that seems to be in speech-style only, but we DID get the Parkman mind sound when he was doing it. And it HIS memory, not his mother's..., unless Angela Petrelli has memories purely of herself and from an external viewpoint Razz

I think it's more like... he forced his memory to work on triggers related to his mother. Though if he doesn't remember Adam Monroe then his memory isn't totally back. What a plot device, eh?

And I'm really glad Matt Parkman is coming into his own as he's always been such an underdog figure, and that Molly's safe! Very Happy

EDIT: Just another thought, what is UP with Peter's powers btw? I thought, the point of his endeavours last season was that he'd have to know about the person he got them from and... well... emote in order to use them. And post-memory loss (caused by the Haitian? Wait, maybe he didn't Parkman himself, but de-Haitian'ed himself?) he just does it instinctively? And he Nakamura'ed himself to the future and back to the past without intending it? What is UP with that?

Hey Guys' LONG TIME NO SEE,

I loved this episode and squeeled when I saw David/Kensei/Adam at the end.. I really didn't have a clue it never crossed my mind. I feel kind of silly.

but then again I haven't read anything on HERO's in such a longtime. i hate being spoiled..

loved peter's flash back got a little tear in the corner of my eye...

I'm glad to know that my prediction of Adam and Hiro becoming mortal enemies did come true. At least I'm still able to read some human emotional conflict, if only the bad parts.. lol

Anyway, my biggest question right now is "Is Peter going to be falling for Adam, or is something that Angela did with him going to help him stop the madness before it gets too widespread?"

Simply put: Is Peter really good, and going to try to stop the plague, or is he really going to be completely without memory, and play along with whatever he's told?

I don't think I could deal with the show making Peter Adam's patsy. That would just be too cheesy for me.

Wow! What an Episode! After watching episode # 7, I had this reaction: Why couldn't episode # 7 and next week's episode # 8 have been the Season's FIRST TWO episodes, to kick the season off with a bang!

Then they could have done the Hiro - Kensei stuff in one flashback episode (sort of like "Company Man" last year).

Still, "Heroes" recovers nicely during sweeps. The story gets a tremendous turn. The players are being positioned for another dramatic showdown, and those we thing are GOOD, are not 100%!!! A great turn of events coming up, I think.

I wonder if they forget about Maury now that he's locked-up in his own nightmare.

I also wonder if they forget about Caitlin now that she's in the future.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Yep, episode 7 was a good one. Lots happening. Geez, poor Caitlin, her brother gets killed and next thing she knows, she's being herded like cattle in a dystopian future.

I will not be sad when HRG bites it. He has annoyed the piss out of me since day one. And the fact pure Mo takes him out, is sweet indeed. I honestly wonder if HRG has been the one killing the 12. I wonder if Matt's dad went on a rampage out of self-defense for his life. He sure didn't look like the calculating killer type (could have used some lessons on hygiene also). Good point HeroAddict, Kaito would not say "of all people, I never expected you" to Kensei. Might he have said it to HRG?

I'm confused about Peter's memory loss also. Why would the Haitian wiped his memory out on purpose? Why was Peter found chained in a crate with his memory wiped? I really want to find that out and hope episode 8 is the one!

Crappy about Nikki getting the virus but she's so brave injecting herself like that. Makes me think the Company might have indeed helped her integrate Jessica and Nikki into one controllable person.

West in Claire's kitchen making waffles? That kid needs to be killed. LOL kidding. Sort of.

Umm what the flip happens to Katlin?

She went from the current NOW...into the future (1yr). Which will change if Peter stops the virus. Does Katlin just appear in 2008....POOF...
