| Well, now that I think about it, there is actually one way we might find out for sure who killed Kaito/how he was killed. What if Hiro goes into the past to try and save his father? If he goes to stop it from happening, we should get some confirmation of what went on. |
What if Hiro was the man who killed him? I mean, he would definitely be the last person I would expect! Hehehehe. |

Kensei would also be one that Kaito would least expect, since he's supposed to be an Heroic figure. Now Adam Monroe, that would be someone with a grudge that I could see wanting to take out Kaito and the rest. However, are we talking about Adam Monroe without any help from Hiro, or the Adam Monroe who has an axe to grind with the Nakamura family?
I dunno. Too many variables still out there to make a really good guess stick just yet. |

| I'd say Adam/Kensei is the best possible answer right now. Only time will tell if it's correct though. |

I am thinking that ADAM would have never become the Hero he was fabled to be if Hiro had not intervened and pointed him towards Heroism, he was a lout to begin with and would have proceeded along that path, he had no reason to change until Hiro introduced him to the Legendary Stories.
The Honorable side of this lout never came forward until guided by Hiro. This makes me believe Hiro had to intervene or the storys could have never been written, the way they were. They would have been stories about a jerk doin jerky things. Hiro would have grown up as a child with no story of a Heroic Legendary Kensei.
I think Adam was always a Profiteer and a swindler out for himself. The fact that a boy had been raised on stories of a Hero, went back in time, and initiated a change in Adam to be the Hero, was the only reason the Legends were even started.
This is what sets up What i call an Eternal Loop, kinda like "You made me", but for you to do that, "I had to make You first" all a total impossibility ( but we are dealing with fiction {ain't it great?} )
This means to me, that the Adam we see is still the same Adam only increasingly Jerkier and with a 400 year grudge to settle, and that Kensei is only fable and legend, even though at one time Adam , for a short period, claimed the name Kensei, he was only the start of the Heroic Legend. |

Exactly! The legend of Kensei was spread by word of mouth, and Yaeko said she would spread it. So to me Kensei was never a true hero, only a legend built up over time by people telling the story over and over. |

Even though Kensei/Adam performed some of the heroic feats of the legend, the actual legend will be Hiro = Kensei. So the legend perpetuated by Yaeko will be of the Heroic Kensei, the one that Hiro had a hand in.
You're all right that the original Kensei stopped being a lout for a bit and became heroic, but now he has a grudge.
So the legend was true and could have become HISTORY if Hiro had not "ripped" his heart out. Yaeko will pass the legend down, and Hiro will grow-up on tales of himself! |

Secondly Hiro did not go back into time with Kensei's sword. If you recall in the season finale, Hiro brought Ando back to the office before the "big showdown" and let him keep Kensei's sword b/c as he tells Ando "the sword doesn't make the hiro"... He ended up taking that blue sword he had with him.
As further proof that he didn't have Kensei's sword when he went back in time is that Ando this season was reading the scrolls left in Kensei's sword by Hiro. If Hiro had it with him, Ando wouldn't have it. |
Well done, you caught me out there. In that case, you can disregard what I said there. |
