Save the Cheerleader, Save the World!
Maybe in the end Claire does save the world, with her regenerative blood as a cure for the virus. Peter’s blood probably wouldn’t work because it’s not his ability and doesn’t exist in his genes. Kensei’s blood wouldn’t work because... well, it probably would, but they have to take him down. Gogo Claire!

Peter’s Memories! (TLDR)

In #7 “Out of Time” Peter somehow regained his memories of his mother. I initially thought she was feeding him her memories of all the time they spent together, to replace his memories which are gone. But then I realised the flashbacks were all angled from his perspective... so I eventually concluded that they really were his memories.

So... how did he get them back?

One possibility is that Peter’s ‘managed’ to remember his mother – that his wiped mind is capable of recovering past memories of a familiar person (only memories of that person) when he is in the presence of that person. On this theory, he should remember Nathan when he meets him. But I don’t buy this theory. Nor do I buy the theory that Angela somehow entered Peter’s mind and ‘unlocked’ the memories for him. I believe his memories are truly gone; erased from his mind. So... how did he get them back?

Squeaker Theory! <.< Stay with me here;

ANGELA!
- Angela gave to Peter those memories which related to her - but giving memories is not her actual power!
- Angela is an empath, but not like Peter. She doesn’t absorb powers, she absorbs people’s memories and experiences - maybe feelings too, hence being so cold/switched-off sometimes.
- This aspect of her power may or may not be voluntary - though I suppose it is, and that she can choose who to absorb, else she would explode.
- I also believe that she can reach out to someone she knows / has a bond with, allowing her to absorb their ‘immediate’ memories, thus allowing her to experience what they experience in almost real time (I’ll get back to this).
- The described power would explain how she always knows absolutely everything. I’m sure she has some kind of amazing memory filing system in her head so not to become overrun.

PETER!
- Peter’s memories are in fact lost - gone forever! His memories now only live within his mother who has been absorbing them since his birth.
- Peter has of course long since absorbed Angela’s gift, but has yet to discover how to absorb people’s memories.
- He has however manifested the ability to reach out to the people he’s connected with; to experience what they experience, as they experience it. This is why he has insightful dreams about people, particularly his brother. This came from Angela.

SO WHAT HAPPENED?
- Ultimately, it was Peter who regained his memories from his mother.
- His mental and emotional state at that moment, combined with physical proximity to his mother, allowed him to trigger her power within himself (old-school-Peter-style).
- He absorbed his own memories back from Angela, who has been carrying them along with many others.
- I do however believe that Angela chose which memories to return to him – for his benefit. If she allowed him to reabsorb his whole life at once, he would probably go catatonic. So she showed him only what he needed to remember in order to trust and listen to her. She was probably aware that he would be yanked back into his own time any minute.

Afterall, Angela knows everything.

Thanks to everyone who types up the Synopsis ! This was the best episode of this season as far as im concerned ! I thought Nicki shoved that injection into Nathan, because in the future with Pete he was told Nathan was one of the first to die......... I have been planning on rewatching it, now i definitely need to!

Bob also said that Adam was using Maury as the tool for the killings, i wander if Adam is just really persuasive or multi powered, id like to think just persuasive.

I also wondered about why Adam isnt killing them himself, you know he is kinda resilient, but they did lock him up once before, so now he is being less direct? Although i do think it was Adam who bear hugged Kaito off the roof.

I think Pete just regained his memories no power internal or external involved, just he mear force of memories returning on their own due to a stressful situation in which a familiar face was present, he has been away from any familiar faces or places so far and there has not been anything to jog his memories. Seeing your own mother is ,IMHO, pretty strong.

Did i mention WOW this was the best episode this season, the first one i really want to watch over again?

I like the idea Squeak. However, with The Haitian wandering around and destroying those memories, I'd have to say that Angela's power doesn't quite balance out his ability. After all, there's supposed to be a balance, so I think there should be more to this than just her ability to absorb whatever she's come into contact with. I think she's also able to find those 'hidden places' in the mind where even The Haitian can't find the repressed memories, and can bring those out as well.

After all, she's had quite a bit more time to play with her ability. I'd have to say that she's going to be quite well-versed in her ability compared to The Haitian.

What do you think of that?

Im kinda leaning towards Angelas power being some sort of Amplifier.

How's this for a theory about Kaito's death:

Maury tracked down Kaito and used his power to put Kaito into a nightmare where he thought he was being pushed off the ledge, when Maury wasn't actually there physically. Ando could have simply walked into the nightmare.

Remember that in this episode Matt says that Maury killed Kaito.

However I'm more inclined to think that Adam pushed him off really, the figure has the right body shape/build. At the same time though, it could have just been an illusionary Adam. Who's to say really? Smile

Also, HeroAddict said that if it were Adam, Kaito wouldn't have been surprised. I disagree since Adam was supposed to be buried, Kaito would not have been expecting to see him again! It was obviously meant to be a permanent burial.

Something else that hasn't been said is the interesting fact that Hiro currently has Kensei/Adam's sword. Seeing as Adam has been alive these past 400 years, it makes me wonder why he let the sword be taken by Linderman. Perhaps Linderman took it after he got sealed away? Or maybe Adam gave it to him as a gift.

One way or another, imagine the look on Adam's face when he sees Hiro with the sword. Smile

There was also an interesting time paradox when Hiro went back in time at the end of Season 1, both he and Kensei were carrying the exact same sword, and were both using the same sword in the fight they had! It's like some kind of time cloning! Very Happy

Interestingly, Kensei didn't notice this.

I dont think Ando could have walked in to see the killer if the killer were in Kaito's mind, much like Mohinder did not see D L in Nicki's Mind........... I think the Killer was actually there not one of Maury's Dreams.

do we know for sure Ando saw someone tackle him off the building?
i can't remember what happened in that episode.
or did he just see him fall off the building?

Yes he did see the killer, he saw him charge at Kaito and he tried to stop him, I just re watched that scene
