Ack! For the first time since episode 6 of the 1st season I missed an episode
I'm in the process of downloading the episode now, so once it's done I'll hop on here to write a synopsis.
Costa Verde
Noah is sitting at the kitchen table as Sandra enters the house from going on a walk with Mr. Muggles. He asks Sandra if Claire is dating anyone. "What makes you so sure it's a boy," she asks. "What makes you so sure it isn't," he retorts back. Just then Claire walks into the room, and Noah tells her he needs to have a talk with her about boys. She's afraid it's "the sex talk" again, but finds out it isn't. She then tells her father not to worry, she isn't seeing anyone.
New York
Molly awakens from yet another nightmare about the guy that can see her. As Matt and Mohinder run into comfort Molly, she is feverishly apologizing and saying she can't help it. Matt and Mohinder talk about Molly's problem and Matt reveals that he can't seem to listen into what is going on in Molly's head. Mohinder sits down on Molly's bed while Matt fetches the water for Molly. Mohinder then begins to sing an Indian lullaby to Molly.
Washington
Nathan is standing by a gate looking at some school children when he calls his son Monty over. Monty and his brother come over and greet their father with smiles on their faces. They notice Nathan's beard so he asks if they like it, but the say they don't. Nathan tells the boys that their grandma is in the hospital and to get their mom to help them call Angela. Nathan then apologizes for not being around more and says he'll be coming home soon.
Mexico
Somewhere in Mexico Maya, Alejandro, and Derek are driving. Maya asks Derek if he's from California and he says he "picked up" the car there and that he's from Jersey. They abruptly stop when Derek sees someone lying on the road looking to be dead. They turn him over and we see it's a very dehydrated Sylar.
New Orleans
We see Micah laying in bed while his cousin tries to wake him up by pouring a glass of water on him. They go into the kitchen where Nana is watching a cooking show. Micah's cousin then asks Nana for $65 but she doesn't have it. Micah's other cousin, Monica, walks in happily and asks them how she looks and she reveals that she had applied for the Regional Manager Training Program. She leaves and says she'll bring dinner home. She leaves and then Micah then begins to look at the younger of his two cousins and says he might be able to get him pay-per-view.
New York
Matt and his boss are in the hospital room of Angela Petrelli as she is confessing to the murder of Kaito Nakamura. Matt says that her wounds were self inflicted. As Matt tries to read Angela's mind, she tells him to let it go and not saying anything that would provoke further questioning.
Costa Verde
Claire is closing up her locker as one of the other cheerleaders approaches her with a permission form to be on the cheerleading squad. The cheerleader says that most of the team wants her on the squad for standing up to Debbie, the captain of the squad. Claire says she'll think about it and get back to her on it. Claire then runs into West who is acting very excited because they both have powers. West asks when they can hang out again and Claire tells him it's not a good idea because her dad is very protective about her dating. West proposes that he takes Claire out on one last date and will back off the next day if she so wishses.
New York
Nathan goes to confront Matt about questioning his mother while she's in the hospital, but Matt stops his and tells him his mother confessed. He then tells Nathan that he can read minds and tells Nathan that he's not backing down. Nathan agrees to help if he gets 5 minutes alone with his mother. When Nathan begins talking to his mom she tells him that she has done a lot of bad things in her life and deserves to be punished for them. Matt and his boss then step in and Matt's boss places Angela in handcuffs. Matt then wheels Angela out of the hospital.
Mexico
Derek asks Sylar where his stuff is and he lies saying he was robbed. They ask where he's going and after he says he's going to New York, Maya reveals that she and Alejandro are going to New York also to find Dr. Suresh. Sylar then says that he can take them to see Dr. Suresh and then Maya asks him what his name is. "Gabriel, Gabriel Gray," he replies.
New Orleans
When we return to New Orleans, we see Monica cutting up some tomatoes and singing. Her friend comes up and they start talking about the test that Monica took. Her friend then looks down and sees that Monica had cut a tomato to look like a flower. Her boss pulls her aside and tells her that she wasn't qualified for the Regional Manager position.
Costa Verde
We next see Sandra Bennet discussing what they could have for dessert and Claire pipes up and says she can't go because she has to do a research paper on libraries and how they're being used less and less because of the digital age. Noah then asks if she needs a ride and she says no and that she'll walk. Ash she heads out the door Noah follows behind her, but as he round a corner, she's nowhere to be seen. We then see West fly off with Claire in his arms.
New York
We go back to Matt and Nathan and they're looking through a bunch of old photographs looking for the one with the group of 12. While Nathan looks around Matt begins telling him about what happened between him and his wife, and says they got divorced because the child she was carrying was Tom McHenry's. Nathan finds it and begins pointing out the people in it when Matt points one out and reveals that it's his father.
New Orleans
We go back to Monica and see her remembering the disaster that hurricane Katrina left. Her friend comes and Monica reveals that she wanted the job so that she could get out of New Orleans.
Costa Verde
Once again in Costa Verde we see West and Claire sitting on top of the Hollywood sign. Claire talks about her life in Texas and the gravel tower she'd jump off of. She says that she's not fully sure if she can trust him. She stands up and jumps off the sign, and as she's falling, West catches her. When Claire asks him why he did it, he says that he never wants to see her get hurt and then they share a kiss.
New Orleans
We return to New Orleans once more with Micah and his cousin by the TV. Micah puts his hand on the TV and the wrestling match comes on. Monica walks in to see her brother watching it. Micah walks over to Monica and says he was just trying to help. Micah hugs Monica and puts his hand on her as if trying to use his power on her. Monica looks at the TV just as one of the wrestlers is doing a sort of flying kick move. We then see the TV screen reflecting in Monica's eye.
New York
We return to Matt standing in his apartment when Molly and Mohinder walk in. Matt asks Molly if she'll help him find his father, but when she sees a picture of what he looks like, she reveals that he is the one who has been in her nightmares.
New York
We see Nathan going through pictures of Peter from when he was younger and places a few in a mirror, but when Nathan looks up at the mirror we see a burned and scarred Nathan. Nathan then punches the mirror in anger at seeing himself like this and then looks at his fist as it is bleeding.
Costa Verde
West and Claire land back at the spot where we last saw Noah. They begin talking about how they're going to sneak away again and what Claire is going to use as an excuse the next time. Claire tells West she has a plan.
Mexico
We come back to Mexico again where Derek finds a newspaper with Maya and Alejandro's wanted picture on it. Derek tells Sylar he's going to call the cops. Sylar then grabs a brick and follows Derek in. He hops back in the car shortly after and shows them the newspaper. He tells them that Derek is calling the police and as Maya begins to panic, her power is activated, which is affecting Sylar. Alejandro manages to calm her down, which is when Sylar discovers that they have powers. He then tells them that he too is being chased for something he didn't mean to do. They then decide to head to America together.
Costa Verde
As Claire walks into her home, Noah is sitting at the table waiting for her. He asks her how the library was and she tells him that she was actually at cheerleading practice and the girls took her out afterwards to celebrate. Then after some hesitation, Noah allows Claire to stay on the cheerleading squad as long as she doesn't date anyone, for now. After Claire goes up to her room, Noah looks outside at a chime hanging out the window. As he steps outside the Haitian comes out from around the corner and says he has found the rest of the paintings, but they are in the Ukraine. Noah then says he'll come up with some sort of lie so his family won't suspect anything.
New York
Back in New York with Matt, Mohinder, and Molly, Matt tells Mohinder that he has to get Molly to find his father. Mohinder says no and the two begin arguing until Molly walks into the room and tells Matt she'll do it.
New Orleans
Monica is sitting down reading the newspaper at work when her boss tells her they're closing early due to a lack of customers. As she's locking up the back door, some guy comes and shoves it open saying he's hungry. He then pulls out a gun and heads to the cash register. Monica sits down at a nearby booth and then gets up the courage to do something about the guy. When she does, she repeats the wrestling move she saw earlier in the episode smashing the guy through some glass. The guy then runs out of the store as her boss comes over and asks her where she learned that. "On TV," she says.
New York
We return to New York as Molly, Matt, and Mohinder are preparing for Molly to find Matt's dad. Molly closes her eye and begins to search for him. She reveals that he's in Philadelphia and says he's in an apartment building on the third floor and the unit number is 9. Matt tells her to get out of there, but as he says it, we see Molly's drawings. Molly begins to freak out and she falls over, motionless but breathing. Matt reads her mind and hears her yelling "Matt help me!"
I actually like the fact that there was no Peter or Hiro this episode. I think it told the story better. I thought the Sylar scene's were great as well. So is he suffering from amnesia as well or is he just playing it cool with Maya and Alejandro? He called himself Gabriel instead of Sylar. Wonder what's going to happen with Molly? I'm sure Matt feels awful for making her find his dad now. So it looks like Matt's dad has some sort of power dealing with the mind as well. Wonder why he's scares Molly so bad, unless he's doing it for his own safety, and maybe he isn't a bad guy after all. I'm trying to figure out where this whole Claire/West thing is going. For some reason I don't see it having a happy ending. HRG will fly off the handle when he finds out he's been duped! Next week's episode looks awesome!! I can't wait!
First, nothing is as it seems! I was wondering how Claire was in a cheerleading outfit in the painting when Noah wasnt letting her cheer. Well now we know! Sneaky girl.
Second, did anyone else notice the roach crawling around the guy Sylar killed (Dale? that name seems wrong)
Third, NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS!! Keep that in mind when you try to use the show to guess what will happen. Kring is setting us up for a "Holy Crap! I thought 'A' was gonna happen and didnt even think about 'B' happening"
Aye, the roaches is an odd theme. I guess either they are unrelated to his power, or he's not as powerless as he feels. I always thought the roaches belonged to someone else anyway - and they were just watching him. But then... of course, it is America (N&S) - roaches are everywhere
I think it’s going to be significant though... there was an early episode where Mohinder told his class that, if God created life in his own image, it must be the cockroach. That was classic!
Yeah I'm still trying to figure out what's up with the cockroach thing? So is Claire really going to be a cheerleader then? I know she was planning on using that as her cover, but I assumed she'd just be saying she was going to practice but really going with West.
Well, we first saw the cockroach when Sylar was trapped in the secret company. I'm wondering, did Derek have abilities or not? Sylar usually has ppl show him their ability before he kills them and takes it and he normally doesn't kill 'normal' people, but I wonder if this was one of those "justifiable" killings since it got him alone with the siblings.
If West is a spy, it would be incredible cruel for Claire; I wonder (assuming he is a spy) if he'll have a change of heart when it comes time to rat her out?
And Molly - looks like the Nightmare man/WTTBM/Matt's Dad has her trapped in his mind or something. I guess it's a good thing she found his address before he got her. That should be a cheery reunion for Matt.
This episode was a lot better than the previous ones; in fact, I was almost about ready to stop watching because I found them a bit boring. Next episode looks like it will be picking up too. I'm glad they didn't cram as much stuff as they have been into the episodes - less is more!

I know they live everywhere But I’ve lived 24 years in England and I’ve never seen even one (which is a shame, they’re awesome little creeps!). They just aren’t ‘visible’ here. I guess they hide away because they don’t like our weather – or they just don’t like us!
On the whole Claire/West thing... I’m a bit bored of that plotline ^.^;; (sorry). I’m hoping they will sort that in the next episode. Push it foreward a bit;
Claire: “West, I think I love you.”
West: “I love you too, lovely lizardlady.”
*Enter HRG*
HRG: “Claire! With a boy! You lied to me!”
Claire: “Dad, he’s...err...on the team! He’s our mascot!”
HRG: “Goddamnit, Claire. You suck at lying – I’m ashamed to call you my daughter.”
West: “OMYGOD! It’s you! You kidnapped me! Shoot him evil accomplice!”
*Appear Evil accomplice*
Evil accomplice: “BANG”
West: “Use a gun! Don’t just point your finger and shout ‘BANG’!”
Evil accomplice: “But I don’t got a gun.”
West: “DOH!”
Evil accomplice: “...umm, I have a pointy stick?”
West: “Poke him in the eye!”
*Poke*
HRG: “Urk!”
Claire: “Daddy! NooOOOoOoooo!”
*Silence*
West: “Cinema?”
Claire: “... ... ... ...’kay.”
