It isn't really consistent with the GN; "Dallas" was completely taken aback by Linderman's ability and seemed like he had never met another person with abilities (which is why I was initially against the idea of his having powers). That said, we are pretty sure that at least either he or his wife are "special," so who knows... |

| Yup, I'm with Hatcher... The online graphic novel seems to indicate that Papa Petrelli had no power? Or as least that he didn't find out about them until a while after Lindeman. Which begs the question... could Lindeman be a descendant of Kensei (I'm not sure about him being Kensei himself, but maybe son, or grandson? Makes it more likely a gene could pass on, and if you could heal yourself, might you be able to live longer than most? Plus it might explain the obsession with the Kensei in his art collection.)? I was going to say, perhaps he adulterated with Mama Petrelli to sire Nathan, but that again isn't how the GN tells us it went down. Furthermore, from the DL/Jessica/Micah family, we learnt that the powers passed down in a family are not necessarily the same. |

I'm not sure how I feel about Linderman being a Kensei decendant, but the way both he and Kaito seem to know a great deal about him (Linderman with the collections of his objects and Kaito with the extensive dedication of his Nakamura website to his legend), it makes a stronger argument for the fact that he may have been "studied" by the original 12, as he fascinated them with his seeming immortality, a trait I'm sure they would all like to have, yet that none of them had ever encountered until him. |

| Well, we first saw the cockroach when Sylar was trapped in the secret company. I'm wondering, did Derek have abilities or not? Sylar usually has ppl show him their ability before he kills them and takes it and he normally doesn't kill 'normal' people, but I wonder if this was one of those "justifiable" killings since it got him alone with the siblings. |
Yeah, he had to kill Derek so that he wouldn't rat Alejandro and Maya out to the cops.

| As for Sylar having amnesia, I don't think so. If he did, he wouldn't remember that he had powers, or what happened at Kirby Plaza. Interestingly, Sylar's watch (which happens to be a Sylar Wink ) is cracked, which I see as a symbol for him hiding his Sylar name, after all, he wasn't about to call himself Sylar in front of the siblings. |
Couldn't have said it better myself.

| So when Parkman and Nathan are looking at the picture of the 12 Parkman says "I know this guy." Nathan replies "Hal?" Then Parkman reveals it's his father... I read somewhere that Hal was Nikki's dad... was it a confusion of names on the posts or could Nikki and Parkman be related? Hmmmmmm.... I'm running out of ideas, but let me know what ya'll think about this stuff. |
He said, "How?" bro... uh, yeah, you just have to see where the conversation is going and the intonation in Nathan's voice.

That's a striking possibility, really it is. Considering that since Kensei can heal, he probably has a prolonged lifespan due to the spontaneous healing process. Let's not forget that in the first season, we're told that Mr. Petrelli tried to kill himself a couple of times in the past but never died. It's plausible. Also, Claire might have inherited his abilities. It might have skipped a generation, maybe.

Are those canon? I haven't read any of them, but they seem to add a lot to the plot. And he could've been taken back because he hadn't met any one else with powers till he met Linderman. |

if kensei IS claires grandfather... then he would have known who kaito is.
if he IS kensei, suicide perhaps was impossible... and whos to say that him committing suicide wasnt a lie also... i mean, he could have died of the virus.
all subject to him actually being kensei tho |

I think they are a useful adjunct to the series, and it seems what holds true in them is carried over to the television show. In the GN "War Buddies part 2," Linderman heals Petrelli after being shot. In "War Buddies part 3," they kill a little girl who has the ability to spontaneously grow food. All the while, Petrelli wants to expose Linderman, but Linderman denies it. The entire War Buddies series (chapters 24-29, still available at www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels) are a quick read and give some great insight into the origins of the company. |

We can't really use people's powers to show that they are related
Flight + Pyro = regeneration?
Phasing + Super strength = whatever Micha does?
Normal Guy + Regeneration = ? (lol) |
