IMO, I think Sylar really did kill Candice, but he can't use his powers because hes injured. If we remember the episode in the future, Sylar used Candices ability twice. Once he posed as Nathan and the other to kill Claire. I was wondering how he got that power, but EP 3 explained this. This could be wrong, and Candice might still be alive, who knows?
No way, Candice is D-E-A-D dead. What I wanna know is why Sylar can't seem to use his abilities? Is it solely because of his injuries, or is there some other reason?? I wonder if Candice actually was working on the Company's behalf; if she was, what did/does the company want with Sylar?
The best part of this episode, for me, was Mohinder's discovery of painting 8 of 8 in this series left by Isaac. It shows Bennet lying dead, and Claire in an intimate embrace with West . . . definitely the "OH MY FREAKING GOD" moment of the episode. We saw Claire learning that West had been bagged and tagged by her father, and then THAT!! I griped about the episodes up to now, but HEROES IS BACK BABY!!!!!!!
Now that i have seen this episode it really makes me think that they only delayed the bomb.
I really think this reminds me of Terminator 3 about how they just delayed D Day not stop it. Ahhh well who knows really all i can say is i am excited. Ohh btw this is my frist post hehe i love this site
Welcome to Superhiro.org Silar101!
I also believe that New York will still explode (tho it may not be Peter/Sylar). My reasoning; that Isaac's paintings always come true.

So then you think there is no way the "Heroes" can stop it right?
I wasn't thinking about it earlier but there is a 3 hour time difference between CA and NYC so it is possible that West is the killer
I still think it might be a stretch for him to fly that far that fast for that long. I guess we dont' know the full extent of his powers, but I'm going to say it was someone else at this point. Kaito was shocked at who it was so I'm not sure.
... I wonder if Candice actually was working on the Company's behalf; if she was, what did/does the company want with Sylar? ...
I've wondered if Candice was really working for someone else as well. The company knows that Sylar's extremely dangerous, and they should have known better than to have him in an insecure area with just one keeper. Whether it's the company or not, Candice was working for someone with enough money to pay for Sylar to have eight surgeries.
In the scenes we've seen with Bob and assigning Mohinder projects to do, Bob has been just a clueless about how to handle people with special powers..
After all, they both underestimated The Haitian and his response, (even though Mohinder's underestimation was possibly planned) I could honestly see Bob being some office-type paper pusher, and nobody that would really be calling any kind of operation.
My theory? Bob had Sylar put under wraps as soon as he found out they'd been able to capture him. He's planning on holding him to use as a trump card against Mohinder, since Mo's still burning to even the score between himself and Sylar.
I'd be willing to bet that Bob's bitten off a bit more than he can chew. He doesn't seem to be as cool or as calculating as HRG or Thompson was. Something about Bob just doesn't really sit right. He doesn't seem to have that serious leadership potential that you'd see in a company of this calibur.
Could that be because of the untimely leavings of Linderman, Thompson, HRG, The Haitian, Eden, and Candice all in such a short time? There's a lack of quality leadership now?
So do you think Bob's using his authority to get the company to do it, or do you think it's a side project?
If he's using the company, then it's another case of managerial error, because somebody there should know, or HRG or Eden wrote a report, about how dangerous Sylar is.
If not, he may just not have had the right information or enough people to do it properly.
Honestly? I'd go with the managerial error, as some folks determine what they like, regardless of the paperwork that you can put in front of their face.
In my line of work, I tend to see this quite a bit. You can give plenty of user manulas, and guidelines, and whatever else needs to be given to prove that something should or should not be done. However, if the person making the decision has more authority, and has the determination to make this choice regardless of the evidence to the contrary, it will get done. Usually with quite comical, sometimes disasterous results.
I'm guessing that Bob decided that Sylar could be too useful of a tool to just throw away. He's guessing that if they can turn Sylar to their cause, then he'd be willing to work with them, and hopefully make his job applying pressure to the good doctor Suresh quite easy.

Someone like Bob?

we can never underestimate the bumbling fool.
have you seen Usual Suspects?
bob is Keyser Soze.
#1 Film of all time.
Now if only they could get Kev Spacey in to play WTTB, I'd shake with excitement every time he was on screen.
I have to say that the episodes in general are getting better. Not that I didn't enjoy the first two, but the plot is thickening a little now. At first, it was just wonderful to see all our old Heroes again, but now I'm at the point where I'm just aching to see some cohesion. When in we saw some oldschool cast interaction between Matt and Nath, that gave me warm fuzzy feelings They need to hurry up and get a bit more cris-crossing going on! I don't like it all disparate!
Re: painting 8/8, I can live with what it shows, but I really wish HRG could have spent a little more screen time with other members of the gang. Esp Peter, since their onscreen chemistry in S1 was so great. Maybe in the flashbacks, eh?
re: kensei the englishman. i like the theory about kensei being linderman... thats a good one, and id like to see that pan out.
re: hiro as kensei... i think its becoming more + more likely that the legend of kensei stems a lot from what hiro himself does.... even if it is attributed to kensei, not hiro. remember the story of kensei and the dragon? well... remember isaacs paintings of hiro and the t-rex? perhaps 'kensei' was actually HIRO against the dragon...
re: candice. id like to THINK that candice isnt dead, but i think she is, because of the whole true-form-when-killed thing.
re: peter. if this is a new theory, i claim it. peter was around nikki at least once, right? and when nikki switched to become jessica, she gained a tattoo (the logo). we PRESUME that nikkis split personality was due to a medical / mental reason, but what if its actually an ability? weve never seen peter exhibit outward agression in the way he did when he looked like he was gonna kill the irishman... but now that much has changed, we see a difference. perhaps, hes picked up the 'skill' of a duality, leading to good peter / evil peter...
re: the hatian... the above reasoning perhaps this explains why his memory was blanked, because the hatian was aware of the change, and thought he could 'fix' peter by blanking his memory, chaining him to the container, and getting him out of the country, leaving the necklace as a memento (because he thought of him as a friend, just one in need) but ultimately trying to help peter in the long run. obviously time has passed (how much time?) so we have a big gap in our current understanding.
re: west... its probably not mr bennet. hed know, more to the point
re: the bomb going off. we've proved that the future can be changed. ando is still alive, hiro has not spent all his time in isaacs apartment trying to change the past. destiny therefore is not written in stone... does this mean that it never will go off, or just that its not going to go off, just yet. i wouldnt use isaacs paintings always coming true as a reason to presume the new york explosion is still going to happen, especially given that actually, the explosion DID happen.
I like the thought that maybe Peter has the dual personality now. Something is definetely up, but what exactly we'll have to wait to find out. I'm wondering who put his idenity in the box?
