what im saying though, is everyone of isaac's paintings have cause ACTION by someone else, i've yet to see a painting that he's done where someone looked at it and "oh...thats nice" or "wow, thats the future, cool"
infact....every painting has had a HUGE impact in the show...even the one with peter painting the stick figures...allowed peter to KNOW he had that power/could use his power.
the one with nathan probably got linderman on the course of .07%, and might even get nathan to go along with it...
think of any pic we've seen isaac create, and it has PROFOUND direct effect on everyone, not just that its going to happen....
think about this...even the one with peter INVISible has had an impact, the entire scene with HRG+haitain with tazers, and claude taking off (leaving peter) had to do with THAT ONE PAINTING
i'm thinking i might make a thread bout this....just every painting we've seen isaac make and the consequences/actions that its caused other characters to do...cause seriously its uncanny
the painting of the bus exploding
the painting of the train wreck
the drawing of simone and peter kissing in the rain
the comic that was being drawn in episode 2's future in Isaac's loft, showing Hiro looking into an explosion.
all pictures that caused no action, but predicted the future.
the 2 pictures of the terrorist things= allowed isaac to KNOW his power to predict the future, otherwise he's draw the bomb of NYC and just think "wow..neato" (maybe) but yea, the 2 pictures allowed him to look at the bus # (which was the same as his painting) etc etc....
the one of simone and peter in the rain...he had no idea peter+simone were getting intimate or w.e.....point is, he thus became jealous....the scene with peter and isaac and isaac shooting simone ring a bell?
oh yea that one with hiro+explosion i have to go back and watch though, i dont recall it
he saw it BEFORE he focused, and went back onto the subway? if so...
maybe reading that, allowed hiro that split nano second extra of time where, he focused his power JUST before it hit him...whos to say it didnt? maybe he wouldnt have been fast enough and the bomb woulda just killed him?
honestly, episode 20 is null and void. it was a clever way for the writers to create the greatest heroes episode, kill off a whole bunch of characters, spin off several different storylines and get us talking like crazy.........and it doesn't mean a damn thing.
Negative! It sets up the final episodes. Specifically, it gives Hiro the information he needs to kill Sylar (Isaac's last 9th Wonder comic book.)
I agree that there must be another Shapeshifter out there somewhere, because I don't believe that Matt is that evil. Yes, he's living in a difficult world, apart from his wife and child, but a transformation like that - to such a horrible character is absurd. There's got to be something going on there.
I don't think the Matt we've seen up until Ep 20 is evil, but he is weak. I don't believe the character has as strong a sense of self as Peter or Hiro. He'll start making one compromise and another and they'll build until he goes 1 step too far and then he's lost.
After watching the episode once again, there are two scenes that got my mind going:
1) When F. Hiro, F. Peter, and Ando infiltrate Homeland Security:
We see Hiro slash a few guys, and then another officer go flying because of Peter. Originally I thought that F. Peter TK’d the officer. HOWEVER, who’s to say that he didn’t physically throw the guy. After all, he did absorb Niki’s super strength by being, ya know, her boyfriend and all. Lol.
2) When Matt calls "Nathan" to let him know that they've captured Hiro, but that he can't remember anything about the past five years:
Nathan says to Matt - “There may be something we’ve over looked
You’re a mind read Parkman. Rip it out of him. If you can’t do it, I’ll get someone who can.” (A.K.A. MYSELF, BECAUSE I’M SYLAR AND I WILL RIP HIS BRAIN OUT)
We should have seen it coming!
Someone mentioned that Matt isn't bad, but just weak. Couldn't it be that Sylar just used the 'power of the spoken word' he ripped from the girl who shot her head off.
We've seen him use that on Isaac, although i ain't sure if it worked on the painter.
Sylar said him: "show me." And then nailed him to the ground.
Why did Sylar not take the Haitian power? It would made him nearly untouchable, and Couldn't it be that Peter also has the 'power of disabling all the superpowers nearby'?
i enjoyed the episode...it was by far one of the best, though i didnt like the fact the jessica and peter were together...and since they were together does that explain the scar and the demenar that peter had?? did he develope another persona like jess did??
yea, i brought up that "if you dont rip it out of him i'll find someone who can" aka himself because he's sylar, i actually brought that up like on page 1 or 2 of this thread i think..anyways...yea, it was during the discussion about if matt knew that nathan=sylar...
so i brought that part up, then when he sees nathan pull peter out (aka phasing) he didnt even care, he looked mildly astonished, probably that sylar was showing his true self...
first off...does matt even know nathan HAS a power, or is "one of them" if not, he woulda been waaay more shocked to see the president instantly "appear" from flying...not only that but then the phasing part!? in essence, matt saw "nathan" use two powers, and HAD to have known it was sylar...

Unfortunately, Sylar doesn't have Eden's power of suggestion - she shot herself in the head to prevent him from taking her brain. It's been confirmed somewhere (I'll try to find the link) that the "voice" that Sylar uses is just an audio effect to make scenes seem more intense. Thus, Sylar didn't use Eden's power on Isaac either.

Well then I apologize - the credit is all yours - I haven't been keeping up with this thread as much.

Hmmm... I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Matt looked really confused as to what the heck was going on. In fact, after "Nathan" says his line to Matt (I think it's something like, "Get in there" or "Get them" or something), Matt looks at "Nathan" and says "Yes, Sir" with a very distraught expression on his face, as if he is thinking either "Who is this guy? He's not President Nathan..." or "WHAT? The President is one of us?!?!"
We also can't say whether or not Matt saw Nathan-Sylar fly in - the camera was focused on F. Mohinder, F. Peter, F. Hiro, P. Hiro, and Ando the whole time.
Thus, in my opinion, I believe that either Matt knew that Nathan could fly, or he had no idea that President was special. I don't think he knew it was Sylar at all.
Apparently Future Hiro stabbed Sylar in the past, but Sylar regenerated. The graphic novel shows Sylar going supernova before his eyes, but how much of that was poetic drawing? Did Hiro actually see Sylar go nova?
And something that hasn't been discussed here (that I can see anyway) is that would decapitation be a permanent injury the healing power wouldn't recover from? The brain is the centre of that power, and without a body attached, it couldn't regenerate it.
Why didn't Future Hiro go back to semi-Future Hiro and tell him how to kill Sylar properly?
