It's called a Soap Opera in Hollywood. I'd really prefer to keep Heroes out of that genre of TV show, thanks very much! Shocked

I'd have to say that HRG's brain would've been mush once the bullet made contact with the back of his skull, so the argument here is basically moot.

The bullet may not have reached the back of his skull. It could have exited the side of his head. The "miracle blood" and the brain's redundancy could have been responsible for his being normal afterwards.

I love that his response to waking up alive was the same as Claire's when she found herself cut open in the morgue.

Discussions based on the absurd don't make any sense....

In my hometown, TODAY, December 18th, 2007 they buried a cop. Last Friday he was assisting during a minor traffic accident. It turns out, one of the "gentleman" in one of the involved vehicles was intoxicated and was sitting on the side of the road. He had recently returned from Iraq where he had worked as a contractor. At any rate, as part of the traffic accident, the cop and his partner attempted to arrest this "gentleman" for DUI.

The perp pulled a gun....

The perp shot the cop....IN THE EYE!... (just like HRG).....

The cop survived from the gun shot wound for about 12 hours (and after a long surgery)....

But the thing is, the odds of surviving such a wound ARE astronomically high. Please don't tell me what happened to HRG is based on any reality, because what just happened where I live, proves YOU WRONG.

BTW, if you're interested in contributing to this officer's fund, just PM me and I'll send you the particulars. He was only 36 and leaves behind 5 children. Very sad.....is real life.

Awww, Herc... that's so sad. I'm so sorry for that family and for your town.

I think that's the main reason that I no longer watch shows like CSI, ER, Law and Order... I could go on... I see enough death and pain on the evening news each night. I don't need to be "entertained" by it.

I enjoy this show BECAUSE it's not real. Because the people in it are extraordinary... because they can fly and because being dead doesn't necessarily mean you are really dead. Let's face it - that's not possible in real life.

I just hate to see people over-analyze things. Just except it for what it is and enjoy it and realize that there may not be logical explanations for everything that happens in it...

But do we really need to have logical explanations? Can't we just except it for what it is and enjoy it?

The alternative is real life...

Anyway, my thoughts go out to the police officer and his family and to all affected by the tragedy. Sorry for any offense, Herc, I meant no disrespect.

Heh.

Maybe I'm a daydreamer, but I like to watch this show, just because I like to think about the "What Ifs" that hit me each time I watch an episode.

After all, how cool would it be to see someone fly? Or regenerate? Or TK an object?

Granted, I don't think anything like that will ever come to pass, but if they were able to, I'd like to think that the Laws of Nature would still have sway over their actions, and the Newtonian Theory of "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" would still apply.

I don't mean to nitpick, I just like to think that the writers would think through a scenario before trying to play their "I wrote it, so it has to be true" trump card.

Anyway, My condolences Herc. Law Enforcement officers take quite a few risks, and they don't get nearly enough compensation for putting their lives on the line daily, IMHO. That's why I donate quite a bit more than I should to our local police corps here. I think it's adequate compensation from my part to keep these wonderful folks on our streets, and in our lives.

I've heard that they have gathered a lot of money for him in local banks....

But, how can money replaced the father of a child who's only 9 months old?

Anyhow, during the holiday season, I always pray for people like that!!! They're the true "Heroes" out there.

What I hate, hate, hate ( mad ) is when the writers contradict their own principles like with Claire's power. The power is in the brain. Wait, it's in the blood. Wait, the blood can heal non-specials, but healers need their unique brain for their own blood to work. Getting injured in the brain won't kill you, wait yes it will. Wait, no it won't. Or at least it won't if your not a special. Wait WHAT?!

I have a very analytical mind. I watch carefully and I piece things together as I receive information. The puzzle pieces we have been given as viewers simply don't fit a lot of the time. Is it in the blood or in the brain? Can you survive a shot to the head or no? The writer's don't know any better than we do.

I hear you. There are some ways to reconcile these things, BUT clearly they need to pay their continuity department more to avoid the need to make something up to try to reconcile the brain/blood origin.

As one possibility (and again I agree that they just messed up and that this is damage control) - those saying "shoot the brain its the only way" are just theorizing and aren't speaking "truth." To explain the "part of the brain that heals" in both cases with the head damage it was something "stuck" there.. Perhaps this all a bloodflow problem... Does it make sense with real blood flow? No- I don't think it does..

I completely understand where most of you guys are coming from with your opinions about season 2, and I agree that it wasn't quite as good as season 1. Then again, there was the bloody writer's strike.
Anyhow, when it comes to the fates of Nikki and Nathan, I'm not convinced that they are actually dead. For Nathan, I'm pretty sure that Peter will realize that his own blood now has the same healing properties as both Claire's and Adam's blood, and will use it to save Nathan. As for Nikki, has anyone ever seen her get hurt or seriously injured? Perhaps the super strengthalso enables her body to have a higher resistance to pain and injury. Also from the scene change from Nikki looking around the room to the scene of the building exploding, there was a good minute or two time lasp where Nikki easily could have found a way to escape the main part of the blast.
