Here's something to consider about Nathan being shot. Who knew where he was and what he was planning on doing? Only Peter, Matt and whoever was watching him in the company survillance camera. The later would seem to be the one involved in the plot to shot Nathan.

Overall, I hate to sound negative, but I was a little disappointed with the finale. Maybe my expectation are just too high and I need to lower them. I don't understand why they kept Maya alive. What purpose does her character serve? No confirmation on whether Niki died or not, but since it's Heroes she could still be alive. I think I like the fact that Sylar got his powers back and will be reaking havoc next volume. I'm also wondering how Hiro got Adam in the casket. I didn't post it, I don't think at least, but I had thought that burying Adam alive would be a great way to get rid of him. I bet Sylar digs him up though. I love how they are portraying Angela. She is willing to sacrifice her sons for whatever cause it is she believes in. I'm assuming she was talking to Bob, but it could be someone else. Still would like to know what her power is!

Why does everyone automatically assume that "two heroes will fall" means that anybody will die and stay dead? The way I see it, three people with special abilities could have been described as having "fallen" during this episode - Maya, Nikki and Nathan. (You might also apply that same description to Adam...?)

However, this doesn't necessarilly mean that any of them is actually dead. Nathan could heal thanks to Adam's blood, or even Peter's blood (though I hesitate to assume that his mimicry extends to all aspects - maybe his blood won't work the same way?). He could also have survived simply due to the fact that the bullets didn't hit anything vital, and medics are able to save him.

Nikki may not have died - she could have found another way out. She could have survived the blast and been rescued by firefighters just after the camera cuts away from the fire. She could have been saved by D.L., who never really died in the first place. Who knows?

Maya, obviously, was shot and "killed" by Sylar and then saved by Claire's blood.

I think that, with Sylar getting his powers back, Noah going back to the company and Bob and Angela hovering ominously over everything, not to mention Adam still breathing (stale air) and Maury out of the picture somewhere but most likely still alive - we have quite a rogue's gallery ready to assume the title role in Volume 3: Villains. I can't wait!

when she gave herself the virus she wasnt under maurys control was more of a crazy niki thing going on. cause maruy had already been pulled into matt's nightmare. really showed how bob's therapy cured her Smile

The whole die and come back idea gets really old - I regret they chose Nathan to go down though. And the blood only heals for the wound at that specific time, do you really think they would give everybody immortality and regeneration?

Maybe they would if they figured out the die and come back idea sucks.

I think (hope) Nathan is definitely dead. The fact that many of you want him resurrected is baffling to me.

Was Nathan a good character? Yes. Did I want him to die? No.

But when you put a bullet in a character, it has to be OF CONSEQUENCE. Remember last year's finale? D.L. and Parkman were both shot and Sylar was stabbed, yet all three of them survived. WTF, mate?!

Sometimes you have to let people die on the show, and not just peripheral characters like Alejandro, in order to create a real sense of suspense.

Claire's/Adam's/Peter's blood is the true pandora's box that the writers have opened. "Oooo! Maybe ______ will come back to life! Remember the blood?!"

Gag me.

From a story standpoint, consider the fact that Nathan was shot dead on national television and resurrecting him might raise some red flags.

More to the writing point, it would suck all the drama out of the show to watch Nathan get shot to death and then simply get resurrected. He better be dead.

Niki was more ambiguous, but I hate her character and her storylines. Her whole role this season was primarily irrelevant to the main conflict. Please be dead and stay dead.

Overall, I liked the episode, but shared the concerns of others that Volume 3 is gonna be Volume 1.2: Sylar is baaaaaaaaaack! *yawn*

I think it's a strong possibility that Noah pulled the trigger on Nathan, but daaaaaaaaaaamn.

Also, anyone else notice that "Exodus" as the name of Volume 3 turned out to be a foiler?

Overall I was also disappointed. Mohinder shows up at his apartment knowing Sylar is there without his gun? Maya has Sylar incapacitated, yet doesn't grab the gun from him? Peter never reads Adam's mind to know what he is really thinking?

I hate to say this...
But there isn't a single character on the show besides Hiro who's welfare I'm actually interested in. Maybe Nathan. MAYBE.
I don't know if it has to do with the writers' strike, but all I get from this season are expendable peripheral characters (which Niki has been from day 1; now they've magnified it). New Orleans plotline--pointless. Niki's overwhelming angst--pointless, again.

The blood bringing people back sort of sucks all the suspense and drama out of the show...I'm not a fan of cure-all phlebotnum in any form!

Maya should have stayed dead. I can only hope Niki stays dead. If they REALLY killed Nathan, I'll be half bummed (he was one of my favorites) but half relieved that they set up a dramatic plot even that will have a big impact AND ACTUALLY STUCK WITH IT (I'm looking at you, Not-Dead Noah).

I hate being the whiny person...don't get me wrong, I'll still watch the show. It's still a million times better than anything else on television. Wink

The only thing that could make me stop watching would be to kill Hiro--which I think we all know they really can't afford to do, viewership-wise.

So here's to Volume 3. May it be better than whatever the heck that mess was.

THE MAIN THING THAT PISSED ME OFF WAS THE VAULT. AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT ELSE WAS IN THE VAULT??? IF A VIRUS THAT CAN KILL ALMOST EVERYONE ON EARTH IS STORED IN A VAULT WITH OTHERS ITEMS WOULDNT U WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE OTHER ITEMS WERE? THEY MUST BE EQUALLY DANGEROUS OR IMPORTANT, YET THEY WERENT WORRIED ABOUT THAT THEY JUST WANTED TO GO PUBLIC WITH EVERYTHING. BS.

Well, I think that's what Nathan's whole "no more secrets" speech was about. He was looking around the vault as he was saying it. I mean, the guy's no Peter (anybody else think the wrong brother got the mimicry? Peter was my fave before the whole him and Adam thing), plus having been a politician, he's all about diggin up dirt. Now he's dead, though, (maybe? again, the blood revival thing is chump) and anything they took and the exposure of it is up to Parkman and Peter. Peter should've been the one making the announcement anyway; he could've taken the bullet and jumped right back up, illustrating the point they were there to make better than his brother or Matt could. I've said this for like the past 4 episodes, and i'll say it again -- this episode felt so rushed, so cobbled together, that it lost something. Yes, there was lots of kickass action (Hiro is the man in a fight -- teleporting kicks the sh#@ out of bobbing and weaving!!) and seeing that our boy Sylar will be back is awesome (along with a now officially evil Angela -- they just killed your son, you heartless beeyatch!!), but some of the happenings could've used a better build-up; it would've made them more meaningful (Case and Point: Niki's death). I just can't get over my man HIRO!!! Burying someone alive is a pretty cold, dark move anyway; Adam's apparent immortality only makes it colder and darker. Good lord, keep the bad guys away from his sister, who knows what he'd do . . . .
