I'd have to side with Byd. If it were physical damage, then they'd be able to regenerate. If it was spiritual or "soul" damage, then they'd just be dead. There'd be no outward sign of death, just a corpse.

Claire, I'd let you touch this, but the Stanley Cup is like a Unicorn. Only a young virgin male can touch the Stanley Cup and survive. That's why nobody living really has ever seen the real thing!

Since the disappointment of finding out Claire was in fact Peter's niece, Milo had to find other excuses to get close to Hayden. This was perhaps the flimsiest.
