Bob was expecting Claire to possibly replace Linderman or PaPatrelli in the future. He mentions her being from good "stock"
Elle was sent on assignment to monitor Claire at her highschool. Elle lurking outside the Bennet house is about to zap Mr. Muggles when Eden turns on the sprinklers and causes her to zap herself. Eden was kicking her butt, when Noah comes out and tells Elle to buzz off. Elle says she is under orders to watch Claire.
Elle despises Claire and looks down on their happy family life.
This raises the questions:
good stock = 2 powered parents?
they were certain she would manifest?
they already had reason to distrust Noah? |

I'm going to have to say that this GN revives my faith that things are going to turn around for the series.
I'd become a bit disillusioned by the end of this season. Now? This type of plot and story gets my intrigue button buzzing, and I'm thinking up all kinds of possible scenarios for what the company could have had planned for Claire once they knew that she'd manifest.
I'd have to say that Elle is going to be a good character to watch this next season.
I don't think that she's going to head in the direction we've all thought she would. This gal's got a mind of her own, and it tends to take her places that get her into lots and lots of trouble! |

I think this GN actually raises a few other questions as well. One, why doesn't Claire recognize Elle in or from school? In the show we are never lead to believe they know each other. Two, company policy is one of them and one of us, why was Elle on her own?
Aside from that, I really like this GN. It gave some good info about Claire. Bob said she was from good stock, and could be the next Linderman or Arthur Petrelli. He also said she could be Elle's boss!! LOL! Claire working for the company? That would be real interesting. |

I wasn't even in that big of a school, but I don't think I'd have noticed a new student, esp someone who wasn't there the whole year.
I helped build the contact list for my 20 year reunion recently... and easily 10-15% of the names were - uhh... who was that? And 25% or so, I couldn't recall what the person looked like or which "group" they might have fit in.
I think Claire WILL end up working for the company. |

I'm curious to see if all of this focus on Claire and her relationship to the company (as seen in "Special" and this latest installment) is going somewhere specific. It could be intended merely as filler and to help entrench the newer characters (West, Elle, Bob) into the storyline more firmly. However, it could also be something special planned to lead us somewhere. I'm willing to wait and see.
Filler I can live with - especially while the show is on hiatus like it is.
But if there is something special in the works, I'll be pleasently suprised and reasonably impressed. |

Too bad Elle won't live long enough to fulfill the promise she showed in this GN.....
Overall a great story. I am so out of "Heroes" mode, I just remembered to go read this, can you believe it!!!? |
