yep. at first i meant the scene before cnadice took micah. but then i remembered the finale he sure acted like he still had plans for her in that ep. obviously it was jesica he wanted not niki in most of his plans.
Very well said, Darcy! It goes back to me just trying to make sense of things, and I'm doing so, Action man, because there still needs to be some sensibility to this show IMO. Logically, if someone can stop time, only another person who can stop time (or teleport) might be able to avoid Hiro's power. It doesn't make sense if someone who can run really fast is able to. The only difference between her and everybody else is velocity, and as Darcy said, if there is no time, there is no velocity (aka Daphne can't move). Certain things have to make sense! lol... Just because Nathan can fly 20,000 feet high, cross-country, doesn't mean he'll be carrying 300 passengers from JFK airport to LAX. lol
Thanks PK.
Kitome, nicely put. I do however think this isn't quite right since Daphne's ability to process information shouldn't have any relation to her speed, and with such a slow rate change of time, it'd probably take her days before she'd even understand a thing Hiro says. If her brain can process information at the same speed she can move, I'd imagine she'd go completely insane almost instantly.
Thanks! By the way, I really really really doubt that is only daphne's body the one that can move at such speed, 'cuz if that was the case she would be like a plain bullet: just a moving object. We have seen her thinking while running at the GN, and I think that if her brain can't keep up with her body then she wouldn't be able to turn in time, she will be like a real-life insect (sorry forgot its name) that it runs so fast that it has to stop at some moment just to be able to see where it is at... Besides, I think that there is enough power-is-brain-related kind of evidence (sylar, inmortals weak point) to say that Daphne's power is for her body and brain as one
its also possible though she sees things real time while running. In the bloodrayne game you get hte super speed power and everyone appears slow compared to you so you can go around them. who knows how they want daphne to be experiencing her own power.

Same thing occurs in Smallville, when Clark super speeds.... It's pretty cool actually, and it would make for some excellent camera trick shots if they go that route...
I think whether Daphne can move when Hiro stops time depends on the exact nature of her ability. If her ability is just to physically move fast, then it would be impossible for her to move when Hiro stops time because movement and velocity have time as part of their equation, so if there is no time, there can be no movement or velocity, velocity would be undefined if time were zero. Average velocity equals change in space (displacement) over change in time. If time stops, and change in time becomes zero, than velocity would be undefined since you can't divide anything by zero, so she would be frozen since she would have no velocity. However, if she has some non-physical power that allows her to move super fast, like she makes everything around her slower, or just makes herself faster in relation to the objects around her in a space-time sort of way, affecting time as well as space, rather than just moving faster in a physical sense, then maybe she could move when Hiro stops time. This would involve more than her just moving fast, though. I'm not sure if it made much sense to anyone else, but it makes sense in my own head and that's really all that matters anyway lol.
makes perfect sense to me because that is exactly what i've been thinking too.

Oh, thank god. You know, when PK said that I had said that, I started thinking I had grown a second personality and had no memory of actually saying that. Phew, no need to check myself into any mental institutes...at least right now.
The thing is PK is that i don't think time is frozen. Hiro just slows it down a great deal or can go back in time or to the future, but he can't stop it fully. I guess we'll find out soon enough, Daphne is a really interesting character already.
On other topics, i wonder what Niki is holding in that picture from the new promo? Is it just me or does it look like what Daphne finds in the latest graphic novel?! I'm not sure.
lol! I find it amusing that we are talking/watching a show about people with superpowers, yet we have spent 2-3 pages of this forum debating if it is feasible for someone to run fast enough to escape a time freeze. I hate to say it but this show isn't really basing itself in reality, so I think which ever way they go on the answer will warrant the same amount of suspension of belief as the alternate option, don't you think?
your right ally it does. i dont pay attn very closely to the novels as mcuh as i
should.
the easter egg this pic was a nice "incognito" pic that always made me laugh
"your chasing 2 men in broad daylight how is THAT lying low!" Niki, Run
I'll be ok if Daphne can 'outrun' Hiro's instant moment of concentration, but we'll have to wait and see on Sept 22nd.
Yes, I'd definitely be okay with that too.

Unfortunately, I'm gonna guess that Daphne actually can't move faster than light, because if you can move faster than light, then that means you can teleport. I know I'm getting really technical now, lol, but I'm just saying...

This leads me to think that if he can move and interact with these things, isn't it also possible that someone with an equal affinity for his ability, or with a comparable ability, would be able to interact with him if released?
Yes, I do agree that it's possible, but for me personally, I don't view super-speed as comparable to chronokinesis at all. But that's just me...
Jorm wrote:

Could it be that her speed is actually based off Hiro's ability to bend space and time, and hers is more localized than Hiro's is??
If this is so, then she's still have the potential and ability to move in his frozen world regardless of his actions to stop time and space, because of her ability to control it locally around herself.
Plainly speaking:
Hiro = Shortwave radio.
Daphne = tin can & string
One is very localized, and the other can broadcast quite a distance and area.
Why are you a genius? lol. I love that theory, and am totally on board if that's the way the writers decide to describe how Daphne can break Hiro's time stopping.

Isn't it true that when Hiro actually stops time, he's not really stopping it? Just really slowing it down? Really really slowing it down...

Eh... the writers have made it a point to state many many times, through Hiro/Ando/Peter and other characters, that Hiro actually stops time, and it's even been stated that he stops time in the novel Heroes: Saving Charlie. In my opinion, I don't think they'd change their minds about something so significant to the story line and all of a sudden say that Hiro just slows down time a lot.

I like this theory a lot, which would mean that the world would look the same way in her eyes as it would look through Hiro's eyes when he slows down time. Reminds me about when I was reading up on Quiksilver and how he eventually got bored with the real world because it moved too slow for him.
Sorry for giving the wrong props, LED!! Lol, kudos on the scientific velocity explanation!! I feel like a goonie now, haha.

Lol, I agree Circ, but I think we mustn't forget about what this show is supposed to be about: "Ordinary people with extraordinary abilities". It's still an ordinary world, and I think the writers need to maintain that connection to an ordinary world if they hope to succeed with their series catch phrase. IMO, certain things still have to make sense... I hope the writers don't one day decide to break all the rules and send the Heroes into space to pursue aliens or something... ~le sigh~

Still could happen since this is somewhat a live-action version of DBZ, except a helluva lot better story, a lot funnier, and more realistic, with a few exceptions. Just as long as they don't blame these abilities on some type of radiation, or an alien from a far superior planet injected them with "super DNA", or possibly an alien mated with a human (just realized another connection, Trunks and Goten became SSJ at a really young age, much like Micah and Molly learned to control their abilities as well).
Here's something I just thought of, what if Sylar is Angela and Adam's son? Thoughts?
Lol, silly Def, Darcy said Angela & Adam's son, not Arthur
I think that's a pretty cool theory... but I really don't want Adam to be related to everybody. Thus far, it's sort of implied that he's related to Niki somewhere along the line, and if that's true I wouldn't want him to be related to anybody else on the show, especially not Sylar. But if he's not related to anybody, including Niki, then I like the Sylar = Adam's son theory

Anybody put a list together of heroes powers? ^The Villians from Level 5 that escape? There has to be some serious bad asses which is why they were locked up to begin with. Another "Mimic" maybe? Another Sylar? Another Time Traveler? We'll more than likely see some "super power" duplicated; however, there have got to be some serious others that we'll be exposed to.
