I think the superstrength thing is right, it's just that it goes out of control or he develops multiple powers. We shouldn't judge yet though as it may turn out really good!
Super strength, wall crawling, webbing / cocconing, ....etc
A formula that may manifest abilities fast
he knows something that Kaito was trying to keep out of the public's hairs
Or maybe mohinder just knows alot and knew what to look for.
Kring did say Peter needs to sit down with mohinder to understand what powers he has. Kring said that he has more powers than the fans were introduced to. -- Last WGA meeting [ the day the strike ended]
So Mohinder may have a great grasp of the field of abilities in general
So the question becomes this...where's he gonna be shooting the webs from? I can't see them copying Spidey completely by having the webs come from his wrists, but they might.
Before I respond to any other posts, I'd like to first (and most importantly) address the Mohinder issue. Firstly, Thanks for the spoiler vid, Ally!
IMO though, after careful observation, Mohinder will NOT be gaining a spiderman ability, and I saw nothing from that video that indicates Mohinder will develop one. Sure, there was Maya trapped in a web, but notice the hand - it pulls away at the web from Maya's face as if this person is investigating the area.
But why does the hand (presumably Mohinder's) cover Maya's mouth, you ask? My THEORY is that Mohinder isn't supposed to be there - Maya was captured by a villain with 'spider' abilities, and Mohinder broke into the "Spider's" layer in order to save Maya. He puts his hand over her mouth so she doesn't scream and attract attention. Kristin's spoiler about Mohinder developing Spiderman abilities was a complete false alarm IMO.
To take that theory one step farther, I think Maya is captured by KNOX, and it would definitely make sense especially if Knox is an animal/insect mimic. KNOX COULD BE OUR SPIDERMAN. Regardless of whether this is true or not, I think Maya is definitely captured by someone with a spider's abilities (not Mohinder), and is being held captive. I think with his newfound super-strength, Mohinder goes after Maya in order to save her. The writers would definitely not bestow two powers onto a once non-powered human. Call me crazy, but I'm fairly certain the scenario I mentioned above is what will happen. I couldn't tell ya why though...
I agree that Victoria Pratt's character and her presence in Season 2 was utterly pointless especially since they didn't show us her ability. The writers better step it up hardcore...

As far as the villians go, it seems more and more like there's gonna be a 1 to 1 main hero to main villain ratio, which to me sounds pretty cool. The everyone against Sylar in season 1 and everyone against Adam and Peter in season 2 was cool, but I feel like it's time to introduce more villains to balance things out. So itll be Hiro against superspeed girl, Matt against his dad possibly, Sylar against Claire, Peter against his future self, Monica against Knox, and Jessica against who knows, possibly Adam/Kensai.
There are only a couple that I disagree with - the first is Sylar vs. Claire (I think that they will both be working on the side of 'good' and will be teaming up with HRG, even if just for one mission), mainly because Sylar lets her live and spoilers indicate that we will see the 'good' side of Sylar. I agree that Peter will, at times, be against his future self, but only at times. There are spoiler pics with Milo Ventimiglia and a "Present Peter" stunt double, which to me indicates that they will be sharing a lot of screen time together, and it didn't look like 'hostile' screen time either. I think it will probably be a lot more than just Monica against Knox - my guess is that it will be the whole lot of them combined to take down Knox and his ability, as well as the other 11 escapees. But Knox, no doubt, will be the ring-leader.
As for Echo, the only person I can see taking him on efficiently would be The Haitian (who can nullify Echo's ability), or Nathan (who can actually travel faster than the speed of sound, which would mean he could travel faster Echo's screaming sound waves). The reason I don't suggest Peter is because he'll probably be pre-occupied with Future Peter/Knox, and the reason I don't suggest Hiro is because (1) he's preoccupied with Daphne, and (2) by the time he tries to stop time, his head would probably bleed out because of Echo's screaming. Matt could take Echo on, but he'll also be preoccupied "finding himself" - whatever the heck that means.

As for Nathan Petrelli. How does flying go to the next level? Super Sonic? Skin becomes resistant to Friction due to being able to also fly high speed?
As Action mentioned, Nathan can already go supersonic (he broke the sound barried in "Hiros"), and his body must already possess some kind of resistance to friction (he was shirtless while flying tens of thousands of feet in the air at super sonic speed in "Hiros"... if his body wasn't resistant, he would have gotten frostbite).
I think Nathan will just be able to fly faster, that's all - maybe faster than the speed of light, which would make him able to teleport. But perhaps he'll only be able to 'teleport' in a straight line, since he still will be travelling by using the 'flight' ability. Meaning, if anything is in his way, he'll still crash into it. Rather than focus on Nathan's "level 2", I think it's more useful to focus on his purpose in Season 3. I think Nathan will be like Hermes, the winged messenger, carrying people, or messages, or things to places whenever need be, which means he won't be much of a fighter. That's just my thought at least...
...unfortunately, though... as the saying goes... "Don't shoot the messenger"... (but that's already been done once... the writers wouldn't risk doing the same thing over again, WOULD THEY?!?! lol)

I have to believe that Hiro should be able to go back in time and to just before Daphne takes the paper and be able to get it back.
Yeah, that was what I was referring to a few posts ago regarding how Hiro is going to take down Daphne - as I mentioned, I think he'll have to efficiently and quickly learn how to turn back time for a single entity (like he did with the bullet in "Unexpected"), and if he masters that, he'll be able to force JUST Daphne 'back in time' (instead of the whole environment), in order to take advantage of her at any given moment.
I would go with your Mohinder theory, Popkorn. It's just that Kristen at E! Online already confirmed that Mohinder is going to be getting spider-like abilities.

Kristin's been wrong (or slightly off, rather) on more than a few occassions... she works for E!, not for the cast/crew of Heroes
yea she made a lot of mistakes over teh seasons with her niki/jessica/gina spoilers i remember. even for season 3 shes changed her story a LOT of times on spoilers even in the same passage.
How come it seems like each season, the abilities seem...duller? Or less impressive. Or just plain weird. Like I don't get why they'd give a character the ability to shoot webs. It's just...sad really. I like that they're introducing super-speed (if you exclude the GN's that is), lightning was good last season, Monica's could have been better, but Maya's was just so bizarre. The energy wave type abilities (we've seen a prisoner shoot a blue one, and F. Ando shoot a red one) are a bit sad. What are they gonna call them? Red be called death wave and blue be called spirit wave? I think a good ability might be magnetic control, like Magneto. But if they give somebody the ability to morph into animals, they should call it "Cellular Recomposition". I don't know, just my rant of the day on abilities.
wowwww, awesome vid, and i 100% agree with popkorn
i think the vid makes us THINK mohinder has spidey-abilities now, but i think its just superstrength..and he goes to spideyvillain's place to rescue maya..
i will be angry as all heck though if....if its knox =[
i've been pretty clear about how i hate the knox=animal mimic theory, if its knox..damn, it is knox =[
popkorn, thats an awesome theory, i just didnt want an animal mimic, but i guess its better than 'spider guy, wolf guy, eagle guy, frog guy' (or girl) rather...just ONE animal person
The founders imprisoned these 12 because their abilities were ones that could thwart and disrupt their own powers, and keep their plans from moving forward.
The biggest threat to the company is not just people with powers, but people with powers that can stop their heirarchy from being able to use theirs effectively.
So, you catch them, drug them or whatever you can to keep them unable to use their abilities, and then lock them away for a nice, long time..
What do you think?
A possibility, or am I seeing more pink elephants??
