Peter becomes darker this season.
Maya may gain control and lose control of her abilities.
Since sylar will be done when heroes starts filming, there will be more scenes with him.

Adam returns in one of the first six episodes.

Sorry if i have the Maya info wrong. She either evolves her power to the next level to lose the tears or she does not have control anymore. Jeph Loeb's clues are great !!!

Loeb also said that there will be more details in the following weeks.

So that also means that someone's got to heal Maya, since at the end of season 2, she was shot, and dying..

Somehow, I don't really want Maya to make it. Her character to me was pointless, aside from having the handy ability to kill off massive amounts of people in a fixed radius. However, both Sylar and Peter are able to do that much better with the power that they acuired from Ted, so her ability to cry folks to death really doesn't have much of a point in the series to me.... Neutral

He also mentioned that his story will fit right in line with this Volume's theme of "Villains." Plus, he mentions that there will be 12 new characters.

In the third volume of the series, the villains of the show will get a chance to show just how bad they can be. Among them are Adam, Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose), 12 new characters still to be revealed and also someone that Anders feels he would struggle to live up to: the infamous power-snatching Sylar (Zachary Quinto).
