Well, it's not impossible that he could hear them over the screaming soldiers. Just think about it, he should be able pinpoint where Peter was just by listening really closely. Remember 6 months before season 1 started? He could barely even move glass with his telekinesis, and six months and five weeks later, on the day of the election, he throws a van upside down.
Powers, in the Heroes universe, should get stronger over time, and become easier to control. Who says that he can't pinpoint people just by listening? But these powers might have a certain limit to their expansion, also, so that might explain why Sylar didn't just rip the door apart with his head.
Oh, and isn't DL dead by the end of Season 1? Why would Hiro be looking for him now?
Actually, my assumption here is that in this scenario Sylar not only has the hearing, but he's also got Molly's power, so instead of listening to pinpoint Peter, he just thinks about him, and knows where he's at. Mainly because in my estimation, Sylar had two of Hiro's rescued 'specials' powers (Candace and DL), so it also stands to reason that if he was able to get those two, what would keep him from also getting the third? Simple answer: Nothing.
Thus, F. Sylar had the illusion power of Candace, the Phasing power of DL, and the tracking ability of Molly in addition to the Regeneration power of Claire's that he took, and the previous powers that we all knew about.
i don't think sylar got to molly. if he did he would've tried to locate claire, he wouldn't pass on an opportunity like that... as he said, he's not gonna need to look for more powers once he gets Claire's. he did say he thought she was dead but in "thinking" she was dead, he would've known she wasn't if he had molly's power.
when HRG and Matt talk, HRG says their deal is that HRG turns in the dangerous ones while he gets to protect the harmless ones. so it may be that when Hiro asked HRG about the ones he send to HRG (DL, Candace and molly), HRG could've not send molly w/ matt, as hers isn't an "active" power.
i'm surprised that sylar had matt working for him, i would've expected him to want matt's ability. same thing goes for the haitian. wouldn't the haitian be able to stop sylar, blocking his powers?

I'm guessing that the Haitian doesn't know that Sylar is the president. If he knew, he'd probably block all of Sylar's powers all at once, to end it, but he doesn't, so he feels that he doesn't need to block Nathan's flying ability, since it's basically harmless... adding to that, if the Haitian is indeed oblivious to the fact that Sylar's the president, then he'd think that Sylar is dead because of the bomb, correct? So, even if he had his suspicions about Nathan, he'd still be driven by the commercial fact that Sylar's dead in his time.

not to mention that those are people that nathan hired if sylar killed nathan and took his spot, he couldn't kill off his own people and not expect the entire world to try and investigate what happened. he had to keep his identity on the down low
i don't know, being president he'd have the "executive" power (not talking special ability) to do pretty much anything... and if it came to that, having candice's ability he could create any illusion...
although one thing is true... sylar (as nathan) wasn't directly working with the haitian, so it may be he needed parkman as a mediator... i guess i'm also surprised matt would "sell-out"... i'm guessing since he asked HRG abouth janice and matthew, perhaps matthew has an ability and he's doing it all to keep'em safe...
I couldn't figure out why Parkman didn't know Nathan wasn't himself. During one of the commentaries, someone pointed out that Sylar mostly dealt with Matt on the phone. I think there was an exception in Isaac's loft when Matt came in to tell Mohinder and Nathan that there were two Hiro's, and Sylar told them that he wanted Mohinder to kill Hiro. Matt either still didn't catch on, or as Baylor and others have said, Matt sold out.

haitain= didnt (unless...the haitain was the one that dragged sylar to safety at the end of the finale..following orders from mrs petrelli) (and she knows about candice too! so she coulda just got them together, offer sylar all this power etc)

mohinder basically says "theres a time traveler....TWO of them possibly..he can bend time and space! he's gonna go back into the past to kill sylar!"

i think futuresylar/nathan had a backup plan....i seriously think we're going to see future sylar again at SOME point... did u see when mohinder goes "hiro can kill sylar.." then he cuts sylar's black string....remember?
nathan/sylar just looks at it fall like "ahh yes....i know" thoughts?

I dunno if anyone else noticed this, but to me, at the end of the fin, sylars bloodspot looks EXTREMELY like a wolf to me, maybe this is foreshadowing WHY he didn't die when he got shot before, and why hes still alive now?
maybe he has to be stabbed by silver, like a werewolf?
or maybe he's just exhibiting more of that 'cockroach-like' behaviour that we've seen from him before. After all, cockroaches have been known to live for weeks without a head, what's a small stab wound?

he wasnt pretending to be dead, they were drugging him. cause it was after he failed taking eden's ability, they hooked up that one thing to the back of his head to keep him in like a drugged resting state. i guess he figured out how to avoid that like he figured out how to get out of mohinder's IV contraption. which means he didnt do anything with the cockroach. i think its just a motif that the creators throw in there.
The reason i was thinking stabbed by silver is perhaps the reason that hiro was given that SPECIFIC sword is that it has silver in it, unlike the one ando bought and that he borrowed and stabbed sylar with.
Maybe thats why he was so worried about getting it, without knowing it somehow, or thats why issac painted it that way?
But then again, it does sound kinda lame, the reason i was saying that though, is perhaps his regen ability gained from teh werewolf sucks by comparision to claires?
