Speaking of "brains in a bottle" (a new song by Creepstina Aguisylar), didn't Sylar has "pickled brains" in his apartment?? man I wish I could watch old episodes from work (during the time that I visit the boards )
Wow. Was this like talked about in dialogue or was it just something that you could see in the background? because i do not remeber this at all.
there are bottles in the apartment about 30 on the shelves but nothing big enough to hold a brain. certainly not a brain in one piece anyway
From CBR's "Behind the Eclipse" Q&A with the writers (for those who STILL dont get why Sylar survived bullets, etc.):
Janet also wondered a bit about Sylar. "We know the powers Sylar has from the people he's killed that we've met on the show. We don't know a lot about the people he killed that we didn't meet that FBI Agent Audrey referenced 'he's left a trail through X # of states' to Parkman or the abilities of those people. So, does Sylar have some kind of regenerative or super strength ability already? He has survived the fall with Peter in 'Homecoming,' being shot at, and some other incidents that seem hard to otherwise explain."
Sylar doesn't have any regenerative powers. If you remember in “Fallout” he falls with Peter, and steals away, but can barely make his way up the hill. When he does, he's easily dispatched by Eden and the Haitian (When Matt and Audrey get there, they see a good amount of blood as well). In fact, HRG tells a limping Sylar, “we've sewed you up the best we could.”
As far as being shot, we've seen he is able to stop bullets or at least slow them down see our symposium on this last week. But in the webcomic “Roadkill,” we see he's not healing Claire-style and needs a little help.
As for super strength, his telekinesis seems to be pretty strong.
So send people to this post when they say "Sylar must have some sort of invulnerability" because thats incredibly stupid (seeing that he wanted Claire's ability so badly) and it makes my brain hurt (no pun intended:))
Future Sylar, i believe, had killed Molly Walker aswell!
i just kinda thought of this and decided to put that out there...
Reasons I think so:
- Sylar killed and took the two others that Hiro tried to protect, DL and Candace, when Hiro was asking to get DL, Candace, and Molly Walker back. Who says he didnt get the third?
- And Sylar was able to just reach through the wall and pull Peter out without even peaking in to see who was where, if he was thinking of Peter he would know exactly where he was so he can just reach in and yank him out
it all makes sense to me now... what do you guys think? Future Sylar did or did not get molly?
unless he just wasn't looking that hard. Maybe he figured that since he was "Nathan" she would come see him sooner or later. Or maybe he thought as Nathan it wasn't too terribly important yet. He's the prez so he's cool with that for now.
Sylar desperately wanted Claire's ability, attempting to secure her power twice as I recall. So I highly doubt that since he became Prez (as nathan) he'd just brush off acquiring her power especially if he had Molly's ability.
"I've been waiting a long time for this"...didn't he say something like that? I take it he always wanted her ability but since she was in hiding, he couldn't find her.
But if he had Molly's ability...wouldn't he had found Claire a lot sooner in Ep.20?
What if molly died in the explosion in new york. she was in the building recovering from her disease.
Maybe she does in this "loop", but in the GN, she was helping Future Hiro after the explosion right? (correct me if I'm wrong). Either way, I don't think Sylar/Nathan had her ability in "five yrs gone".
It is uncertain whether or not Sylar had acquired Molly's ability in 5 years gone, but we are led to believe that she was not killed in the explosion, as Hiro asks HRG for her location. Hiro lists Molly as one of the ones that he brought to HRG for hiding and hiding her would not be necessary until after the explosion.

Don't forget he could have "heard" right where he was
Also, it could be assumed that Claire was dead, as nobody was supposed to know where she was, save HRG and Matt. Howver, even Matt didn't know _where_ she was, only that she was alive. Given the time frame, I don't think Matt spoiled HRG's suprise until that specific episode. Thus, Sylar had no reason to look for Claire. After all, if he had Molly's ability, he'd have to think about that person in order for the ability to work. If he thought Claire was dead, then what would be the point of trying to look for her?
I think Sylar got all three. After all, Hiro specifically asked for Candace, DL and Molly. Of those three, Sylar showed that he'd gained the abilities of Candace and DL, so the assumption here is that if he's got two, then there very well could also be the third.
wow, everything i wanted to say, but u just said it first...
and i think this whole enhanced hearing thing is kinda over rated, sylar would have to hear their hearts beating over the screaming soldiers pounding on the door trying to open it
Well, it's not impossible that he could hear them over the screaming soldiers. Just think about it, he should be able pinpoint where Peter was just by listening really closely. Remember 6 months before season 1 started? He could barely even move glass with his telekinesis, and six months and five weeks later, on the day of the election, he throws a van upside down.
Powers, in the Heroes universe, should get stronger over time, and become easier to control. Who says that he can't pinpoint people just by listening? But these powers might have a certain limit to their expansion, also, so that might explain why Sylar didn't just rip the door apart with his head.
Oh, and isn't DL dead by the end of Season 1? Why would Hiro be looking for him now?
