SYLAR IS TAKING THE BRAINS NOT TO STUDY THEM BUT TO TAKE THE PEOPLE'S POWERS!!!!!!!! HE THINKS HES NOT "SPECIAL" ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST HOPE AT THE END OF THE SERIES PETER KILLS HIM OR SOMEONE KILLS HIM AND SURESHES DAD I DONT THINK IS THE CAUSE OF SYLAR'S POWERS HE JUST STUDIED SYALR AND OTHER PEOPLE'S POWERS!!!!!!!!!! mad

In the pilot, Mohinder absconded with his father's computer before HRG finished going through the apartment. HRG might have known that the list existed, but not what was on it. He did ask Mohinder, "Are you on the list?"

Mohinder and Sylar had mostly worked their way through the original list, with most people on it either dead or missing. I think that was mentioned in the graphic novel about Sylar (I forget the number and name). Mohinder told the FBI that he'd been trying to contact people and not been able to find them.

Mohinder generated a new list based on whatever information you can get from a spinal tap and a PC, but the PC was destroyed. Mohinder may still have the list somehow. Sylar wouldn't have given him the opportunity to make a copy before Peter arrived, but the computer or a disk may have survived the battle between Peter and Sylar. Then Mohinder may have had a chance to take a copy of the list and destroy the computer if necessary.

Well, in this last episode, he showed the freezing ability. So we know that he does have it under his control. Also, he attempted to use TK while using the freeze ability, however, his control wasn't as accurate as we're used to seeing from him, so he's still not that well-versed in using more than one power at a time. I'm thinking that he'll be working on that issue here in the very near future.

The theory that Sylar is taking people's brains to study them seems to make sense but then comes the question, HOW THE HECK DOES HE ALTER HIS OWN DNA? I feel like eating the brains seems to be the theory with the least holes in it. that way he could be consuming their DNA.

Also, I don't think he HAS to study them...he can already see what's "broken" before he takes the brain out......
question for people......did he have a brain in Zane's house somewhere??
I know we had seen the body there, but if we didn't see the brain, it's not like it was in his pocket, so he must have devoured it

he has been hinted to be eating brains on more than one occasion. almost every channel that interviews him has brough up brain eating, and molly walker said that the boogy man will get you and eat your brain...

he definatly needs to eat the certian part of the brain that enables the ability,(in my opinion) and since he doesnt know, i think he just eats the entire thing.(also in my opinion)

the only reason i think he eats the entire brain is because we never saw brain chunks hanging around even in Issac's apartment so im assuming he eats the entire thing

This seems like the most reliable theory, and it also adds to Sylar's creepiness.
