OK thing is noone really knows if sylar has all the abitilies yet or how advanced he really is. If he was advanced beyond all others he could just destroy everyone like if they were bugs. I think he might just be talented with his original powers and still tryin to learn the others as he gets them. I think the search for powers within minds of others may be caused by obsession for power rather than him actually be skilled in all the powers. I would laugh if he gets beat up really bad during his first encounter with some of the heros.
nah...I think Sylar is a wuss and his powers are a cry for help. That and he seems to be mentally unstable in every way possible. I mean, taking/eating? people's brains? When did that get fun?
Tt seems to me that the Sylar thing is a conspiracy and several people are in on it. He may not be the only super involved. So anything is possible. We don't even know for sure if we have seen Sylar yet. That guy who got shot may not have even been Sylar.
But I'm going to assume that was him, and that all of the major effects seen at the crime scenes are his doing. Telekinesis could explain everything so far, except for the guy being frozen. And if you really want to stretch, theoretically he could have telekinetically perma-frozen the guy on a molecular level. In which case, that matter would have effectively been made cold and moisture from the air could have been caught along with the effect. Or lost its heat on contact with the cold body and frozen. I'm really stretching though

Ya'..and in this 'universe' of yours there's people who can fly and can travel in time... Now that's a stretch.
hehe well it's a different kind of stretch... more like Sylar would be taking his telekinesis power to a considerable extreme to do something like that... and stopping the vibration of particles to make them cold is a bit more technical than any tv show usually enjoys...
from a tv-standard storytelling standpoint, it's most likely that Sylar steals powers... and the guy who got shot was indeed our first glimpse of him... but there are alternate possibilities which are alot more interesting, and this show has surprised me enough times already... I'm hoping they keep it up
I think he is invulnerable, or stopped the bullets with his Telekenisis
If he could regen, claire would be dead already
If that where true why did he collapse when shot? And why is it claire would be dead already? I keep hearing references to Claire and Skylar and wonder if i missed something?
First post here. Found the link on Hiro's Blog on the NBC site.
Not read through much but one thing no one seems to have touched on with Claire's dad is his ability to be in three parts of the country in the same day. He's in New York. He's in California, And then back home in Odessa Texas with Claire that night.
In E4 his wife hollers at him that he's going ot be late for his plane, but still there's no way to be in three parts of the country flying commercially. At least no way to do it and actually get anything done.
I'm leaning towards this guy being Sylar. Patient Zero. He's obviously touched in the head, and knows that what he is doing is wrong per the "Forgive Me's" that Mohinder found in the New York apartment.
I'm still debating with myself what exactly I think Sylar's ability is.

Are you sure he was in all three places? Maybe they brought Matt to LV to be studied and so he was in Texas in the morning, then LV and never anywhere else. Or am i thinking of a different episode?

Yeah I was speaking of E2, and going off the assumption that Claire's dad is Sylar. You dont' accutally see the attacker of the family where we first meet Matt.
That depends on the technical functioning of his telekinesis. He could keep himself wrapped in a tight-fitting telekinetic field at all times. Or perhaps his telekinesis absorbed a portion of the impact from the bullets reflexively. Either way, it could be likened to a bullet-proof vest. And people are usually depicted as being knocked down or falling over in suprise/pain when wearing a vest and shot.
