"Seven Minutes to Midnight" Episode: 8,Season: 1

The Earth - Mohinder narrates. He's chanting over his father's ashes, surrounded by men dressed in white. He's dressed all in white. He dumps the ashes of his father into the ocean. A woman approaches "Mohinder, you mustn't look back. Your father has moved on to the next life." He cries.
Isaac, in bed. Eden is with him, washing his face with a wet washrag. He's trying to detox, she's helping him. She says she will teach him how to paint without the drugs? That they won't let the mural on the floor happen? "You seem pretty sure about this" Isaac says. She says she is sure, becuase she went through the same thing herself. She looks at his paintings. A new one - w red-haired woman in a diner.
Midland Texas - the Burnt Toast Diner. A waitress Charlie, is speaking to two poilice officers. She completes a crossword puzzle. Ando & Hiro are in the diner. Ando complains Americans are fat because all they eat are waffles and French Fries. Charlie approaches their table. She reads the Japanese on Hiro's jacket - "It means you don't belong here." Ando is surprised that she remembers so much from just reading a book on Japanese. Says it's something her brain has been doing lately, whether she wants it too or not. Hiro asks her to order something for them so Ando doesn't get "FATO FATO!" She orders a cottage cheese plate for them.
A man in the diner, wearing a cap. He looks like...SYLAR IS IN THE DINER - HE WILLS HIS COFFEE CUP TO HIS HAND, IT SLIDES ACROSS THE TABLE TO HIM.

India - Mohinder, speaking with his friend. Mohinder says everyone in America is lonely. He saw things in America he wishes he never had. A beautiful woman, perhaps there is more here for you than you expected Mohinder's friend says. Mohinder starts teaching again on Monday.
Mohinder, a busy street. Chennai University. Mohinder is in his father's old office. One desk drawer is locked. The computer screen comes to life - Mohinder goes to quit the program. Mira enters the room, she said terrible things to Mohinder and his father and feels terrible about it. Mohinder says "What's done is done." She's been promtoed at the company, she's the head of Genetic Research. She wants him to come talk to the partners at the company, so long as his father's research stays packed away in the boxes.
Matt, his FBI friend. She calls him an idiot for assaulting his partner. She asks if he deserved it, Matt says yeah. Sprague is in a holding cell, Homeland Security is coming for him to charge him as a terrorist. She says her job is getting weird, three people including Matt are showing powers.
The diner - Charlie reads to Hiro. She is speaking fluent Japanese. Hiro is surprised, she says it is her skill. He says his skill is complicated....he can teach Japanese to anyone. She calls him sweet in Japanese - the word she uses isn't in the book. "I'm sweet!" Ando gives him a thumbs up.
Sprague, in the holding cell. FBI Agent wants answers, how did he kill the doctor? give his wife cancer? Ted's getting upset...the water he's holding is boiling. He wants her to shoot him. Tense scene. Matt says "Somthign is happening to me too Ted! I could read your dying wife's thoughts!" Matt calms him, the water stops boiling. Matt hears his thoughts "I blacked out, when I came too everyone was dying." Ted has marks on his neck, two slashes. Matt pulls his shirt down, he has the marks too.

Mohinder is reading thorough his father's research, The notebook, the files, the key. He stares at the computer monitor - he was going to quit the program before Mirra came in. Mohinder closes his eyes...comes to and sees himself arguing with his father. He is there, watching himself in the past tell his father that leaving everything behind is a fool's errand. Mohinder moves again...now he sees his father speaking with his wife, Mohinder's mother. They do not see him. Mohinder's father struggles with his decision to go. A soccer ball bounces up, Mohinder stops it and sees a small boy. "Who are you, what do you want" he asks. The boy points to the soccer ball, Mohinder tosses it to him. He comes to, the program still truns on the computer.
Ted sold dialysis machines, he says. He went to the hotel bar, there was a student from Haiti there. He wakes up two days later with cuts and bruises. He buys flowers, they wilt. Matt asks him what about his health, headaches? Ted nods. "The same thing happened to me" Matt says. He tells Ted about the things he hears, things that could end marriages. Matt asks him about the Haitian. They think he changed them. DOD arrives, they want to know where the nuclear material is. "Find the Haitian" says Ted, before they take him away. Matt argues for his friend to bring the Haitian back. "It's out of my hands", she says.
HRG, Mr. Bennet arrives at his office in Texas. Opens a secret door...in his real office there's the paintings, Eden. This is where Isaac is being held. HRG asks how Isaac is doing. Looks at the painting of Claire in danger. "Isaac, this is Mr Bennet, the man I told you about" says Eden. HRG tells him his ability is important, Isaac says it is a curse. He tells Isaac he will help him understand his power, because he needs his help.
More shots of the shadowy figure in the diner. Hiro and Ando are eating, Charlie is in the back in the storeroom. There's a noise...she's openine a large can. *THWWPPT* Blood drips down her head...she falls. There's a scream, her body is discovered by the poilice. Hiro comes out of the bathroom, sees what is happening.

India -Mohinder's mother is speaking to him. He tells his mother about his "dream" where he saw her persuade him to come. "Your father and I were married for 33 years," she had to let him be who he was. In the dream Mohinder's mother said Mohinder could never take the place of "her." She tells him he had a sister, Chanti, who died when she was five years old. She never told Mohinder because it was too painful. She was "special."
HRG and the paintings. He rattles off stats where people died from the events. "This man here, goes by the name of Sylar." HRG points to the painting. "Sylar is killing them, one at a time. I need you to paint this painting." Isaac says he can't without drugs. HRG puts works out on a table, Isaac knocks them away. "For many years now many of us have been tracking people like you" HRG says. People misundertand their motives. He tlkas about adopting Claire. "Thjis is my daughter we are talking about, I'm begging you." Isaac says he will try one more time without drugs.
Mohinder's office. A small child is there, trying to open the drawer. It's the boy from his dream, the boy runs. Mohinder chases him into an alley....in New York. His father is in a cab. He watches his father die. The man who kills Dr. Suresh has a broken watch on his wrist, stopped at seven minutes before midnight. The can vanishes, the boy is there and hold his hand out. Mohinder approaches. The boy turns his hand over to reveal a key. Mohinder takes it, looks at it. He wakes up. Opens the notebook with the key in it.

Claire is at Mr Bennet's office, Primatech. She has a "paper emergency." She needs a large banner for school. Eden exits his office, "we have a little situation." Isaac can't paint. HRG says now he will do it my way, you will ask him. Eden protests, she would never have to "do it" again. "Do you remember what you were when I found you? You're the easy way, I think we both know the hard way." She takes the syringe and belt and leaves. HRG watches her raptly, she whispers something in Isaac's ear and looks back at HRG. Isaac looks...stunned?
The diner - the police are questioning Ando and Hiro. Her head was ripped open says the policeman. He wants Ando and Hiro to stick around. Hiro says she was killed the same way Isaac was killed in the future. Hiro says there must be something I can do...I can go back. Ando protests, Hiro says he can't stand by and do nothing. Hiro says he will go back and stop her from coming to work. Ando says he can't control his powers, Hiro says he must use them or he doesn't deserve them. "Count to five and I will be back" Hiro says. *poof* Hiro is gone, Ando counts to five....Hiro isn't back.

Matt's wife looks at photos in an album. Matt is there. She asks if he punched his superiror officer. He says he did, one month suspension with no pay. He hears her thoughts "He knows." She confeses to Matt, she slept with him. Matt is upset. "Is it over?" he asks. "Yes, are we?" No he says. The phone rings. FBI agent says he's gone Ted escaped. There is a massive fire behind her.
Mohinder opens the desk drawer with the key. Empty, or is it? Something stuck up in it. A file, Sanhog Iyler. Articles, photos of the boy in Mohinder's dream.
Isaac paints, Eden watches, His eyes are white. Mohinder speaks, narration. Claire is making her homecoming banner, HRG watches. "What?" Claire says. "Nothing." he says. Ando stands in the diner, no Hiro. Photos on the wall...there is a photo with Hiro and Charlie at a birthday party?

Another great eppy and great synopsis SH. Glad to HRG is [I believe] a good guy. Definitely leaves you hanging for the big showdown next week. Is it Monday yet?

Imagine if Hiro, even in a joking manner, said that he could bend space and time when he said he had a special talent? Sylar was going there for the girl ( I forgot her name), and killed her. But it would have been a double helping if he knew what Hiro was capable of. Then Sylar would have TRULY been unstoppable!
As far as H.R.G.: he is def a good guy, and some of us guessed right when he said that Sylar killed Claire's biological dad. We also see that Sylar killed Chandra Suresh. They made the point of showing the watch that the had on in the present and past. It also seems that Sylar's method of killing has increased from hands on to no need for hands. This seems to show he definitely gains powers by eating the brains of other heroes. The only question I have is this: Who should Sylar want to kill more...Claire, for the ability to heal, or Peter who has the ability to use other Heroes powers to an even greater extent than the original Hero? There are others to include but we know for a fact he meets at least these two the preview for next week.
I would think Peter, simply for the fact that he could defeat Sylar and that Sylar might grow to be afraid of him, making Peter a very real threat no matter how powerful Sylar grows.

He didn't say "No". He said "I don't know".
Although we know from his interview that they eventually get back together.
Folks, I couldn't disagree more. As I have said before, IMHO, I think that the producers are taking completely the wrong tack on this show. They have frontloaded all their special effects in the first few eps, and now they have the very first ep where there are absolutely zero SFX! This is not what is going to keep an audience. If this show just turns into another quirky nighttime soap the ratings are going to plummet. Nobody would pay $10 to go see the Xmen talk to each other about their problems... they wanna see havoc! And the same thing applies to this show.
what a great episode, i loved it too.
too bad for red-haired Charlie, she did not get a lot of screen time but i loved her already.
i like how Hiro keeps on having to deal with more more ugly situations. i can now see how he's going to go from geek-hiro (genuine and naive guy) to samurai-hiro (confident and sword-wielding).
i'm happy to see Eden got powers too. i kinda guessed it a while back, that she could be a seductress or persuader of some sort. i like the fact that she doesn't want to use her powers (apparently some sort of voice-hypnosis thing)
i'm really liking ted also. a classic tragic character, can't help to feel bad for him, i'm hoping they'll find a way to have him stick around for a few more episodes
anyway i got a question : when or where has it been said that sylar needed used brains to get/copy powers .
to me it seems that he only have telekinesis so far...
also could the cheerleader he's going to kill really be jackie, since she kind of took all the credits for Claire saving that fireman, Sylar could mistake her for the "special one" and end up eating her brains instead of claire's
the sanjog character looks really interesting. his/her powers seem to deal with sleep (see the file Mohinder finds) and dreams, and/or revealing the past.
there are two things i don't get by the way :
- why didn't Peter give Hiro & Ando a real date/place of meeting ?
- how does mr Bennett know Sylar is going to kill Claire the following night. i mean how did he found out when it was going to take place ?
OK I thought that the picture at the end wasof hiro and the waitress at her birthday party. see early in the episode she says to Hiro and Ando that she got her deep knoledge about a week ago, when she got that book. when she starts speaking in Japanese Ando goes, "You learned all that in 6 days?" So maybe Hiro went a little too far back. As in at least a week back.
So we still have no clue how Sylar cuts open heads. One thing I noticed was he got from his seat in the far corner to the back room with no one noticing. How the frag did he pull that off, use telekeneisis to make everyone look the other way? Possibly some sort of super speed power, but wouldn't that make a nice breeze? Maybe he has a teleporting power like Hiro. It was never said that each person has a diffrent power. He could have found another teleporter and taken his power. Interesting...
When i first saw Sylar in that bar.... i almost fell from my chair... and i was shocked to see Charlie (?) bleeding... she was soo nice, and i was happy with Hiro @ her... :'(
Mr Bennet really isn't a bad guy... Still i dont say hes good, i dont like the way he decided to finish all Isaac's effort to leave drugs...
I am really curious what that mark on Matt's neck comes from

BECAUSE as Claire's father, he may know when the homecoming is, and on one of the pictures we can read a part of the world "homecoming"
Why do you think that Sylar killed Claire's parents? What MrBennett said was only that their intentions were misunderstood and a woman died and left baby Claire for them.
Or i missed something?

Well it would seem that they were working together. I mean HRG did know for some time that there where special people in the world. It would seem thatPapa Suresh had found an easier way to find the specials.
