on the tv.com site... during his interview Milo Ventimiglia (peter)
pretty much gives away whats happening when you see him in that dark jacket/coat/overcoat/parka/windbreaker thing hes wearing... he doesnt have a shirt on underneath and why all the other heros are there...

The overcoat that Peter has on in the global preview (when he wakes up on the sidewalk of NY) is not the same coat that Nathan is wearing when he visits Peter in the police station. If you notice in the 5 minute preview, the jacket that Nathan is wearing is a tuxedo jacket, and you can see that his collar and bowtie are untied. It is also black, while the one that Peter is wearing in New York is dark blue. Peter's jacket is also longer than the one that Nathan is wearing. I'm gonna have to stick by my "Peter's jacket = Sylar's jacket" theory because it's too much of a coincidence that the jackets are so similar, so much so that I think that the jacket must be symbolic in someway (just like everything else in the show, lol). |

Amazing find, Biderbeck! Although, he is indeed actually wearing a shirt under the jacket, it's just really similar to the color pigment of his skin. You can see the shirt bending a few times in the chest area when he moves his arms. Anyway, here is the direct quote from that interview for all of those who are interested in this jacket scene:
Milo: "Peter... he... becomes overwhelmed with all the abilities that he's taking up, to the point of meltdown. He goes into a coma and convulses, and while hes convulsing he has this dream of being in manhattan"
ALSO, Santiago Cabrera (Isaac) reveals something about this as well. He says:
"Peter's having these dreams and he's kind of having, uh, it's all related to the explosion of New York, New York City going nuclear..."
In the interview with Greg Grunberg (Matt), he says:
"We know that there's a bomb coming, we know that New York is under threat, but we don't know what form the bomb is going to take."
In the interview with Ali Larter (Nikki), she says:
"Milo, who's Peter Petrelli, is having these kind of feverish nightmares. And this is something that he is imagining in his head, and we dont know if possibly that he's having foresight of where this could absolutely happen, or whether this is simply gonna be a dream. So, we're all gathering here together, kind of, as Milo would have dreamed us up."
Well, there you have it. My second guess for this scene was TOTALLY that it might be a dream, because of the fact that it would seem impossible to have all of the Heroes coincidentally travel to New York in only one or two episodes. Anyway, while this doesn't really give any insight into why he's wearing this peculiar jacket, perhaps we can make some guesses. Maybe this is a signal to Peter (or to us as an audience) that he's wearing Sylar's jacket because he will soon have to choose whether to use his powers for good or for evil (just like Tim Kring said in an interview). This is my only guess right now - basically that the jacket serves to show us that Peter's character may momentarily walk down an ominous and evil path in the upcoming episodes. What does everyone think?

BTW, I buy the neighbourly-seductive-sexually-appealing thingy, and for the same reason, I'd like to see her "go". I simply don't like Eden anymore.

Oh, Snap! I just thought that if the scene where they all come together is a dream, do you think that who ever dies, only dies in the dream? That would be kinda lame, but I'd rather it be lame and keep everyone alive.

thanks... at first i thought he had on a t-shirt then the lights shifted and i didn't see the collar round his neck anymore...i gave it over to a video glitch but it was buggin me his skin didn't look quite right.... then in the next part of the clip he has the coat buttened up...interesting how the audio dies out right after he says manhattan...possible spoiler he let slip? |

Yeah, I noticed the audio dying out as well. It actually happens in all of the interviews at some point, probably because the characters may have said something a little too revealing. |

Sorry, I am talking about Mohinder (and I do need to buy a bigger Hard Drive for that darned TiVo, I haven't saved any episodes). HRG seemed pretty peeved when Dr. Mohinder Suresh left NY with dads ashes.
And honestly, they've only started doing the voice thing in the last couple of episodes (of course, there is no telling, when amd in what order they were filmed).
Am I still confused? It's possible....!!! |
If Mohinder had nullifying powers, three things would've never happened.
Time wouldn't have stopped on the subway.
Peter wouldn't have come out of the frozen time.
Sanjog would never have entered Mohinder's dreams. |

| i highly doubt the jacket means anything at all seeing that its in his dream and if it does have some signifigance does it not look like future hiro's trenchcoat so maybe he teams up with hiro i mean come on peters only contact with another hero besides his bro is Hiro and the seem to be pretty chummy |

| For all the people who think the hatian guy is gonna remove Peters memory of Claire, this would be impossible because Peter would get the Hatian dudes power to nullify powers so the hatian dude wont be able to erase anyones memory when they are close together, |

I think the debate is still on about what would happen if the Haitian and Peter met up. And I don't think that anything is ever truly certain when it comes to this show.
I didn't think anyone would be able to take down Sylar very easily and boom - there goes Eden and the Haitain in less than five seconds. |

| I'm happy that this whole Peter and Hatian Guy thing got such a nice response =] WOOO!!, but whatever the answer my be, I just can't to see what happens when they meet for the first time and how Haitian Guy's power interacts with Peter. |

| I don't thik the hatian can cancel out peters power...cause when they meet peter won't have an ability to cancel...now when peter mimics the hatian's ability well that will be interesting... |

| I am thinking that MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, that nobody will really recognize the Hatian cause he might put on a Jeff Gordon jacket and they will all mistake him for the driver of the #24 Dupont Cheverolet. |
