Am I the only one disappointed on the way DL died? He becomes a hero, only to be gunned down like a poor sap... And to think, I actually liked his character in this episode... A fire man suited him... I guess all good deeds don't come unpunished.. I hope he comes back one day... After how the writers degraded his character with his death... I just don't know about this show anymore... cry

The writing on this show is really letting it down DL's death was weak, but not as pathetically weak as this whole asinine Nikki arc...she is so screwed up that she has NO redeeming value...and the 3rd personality? SO LAME!! Her Jessica persona was at least her deceased sister...but this one? The show had better get it together, this episode was a MAJOR disappointment! mad

I'm still not completely convinced that he's dead.

We've seen:

- His tombstone (first episode I think).

- Him being shot (but not really on camera - we saw a gun to his chest, heard the bang, saw the blood splatter, but no real indication as to how bad it was.)

- His funeral - but no body. (I don't recall seeing a casket. Was it a closed-casket service or an open?)

We also saw another fireman watch him walk through a wall, then look at him in disbelief of what he saw. Perhaps his death was faked in order to lay off some rising suspicions about his abilities? (But I think Nikki referred to him as being dead in "Out of Time"...?)

I just don't get it though. Why have him survive his gunshot at the end of the first season, only to die from <gasp> a gunshot during the second season? It just seems too convenient, you know?

I'm probably reaching. He probably is dead. But this is Heroes - so who knows?

I hope he comes back, anyway the tombstone is in the third episode if I remember right

"Gina" had just snorted cocaine as was seen in the opening club scene. Then when DL is shot she just goes all numb looking and stares off into space.

I've never used cocaine, however one of the effects that is commonly cited of the drug is the feeling of being "invincible." If DL had to go out like a chump they should have at least had "Gina" morph into Jessica and shred the shooter like a Cuisinart. Also why DL could insta-phase when the killer fast-punched him but somehow missed the window to phase when the killer held the gun against him for about two seconds?

DL's death was LAME. We expect better. And I'm going back to the 9th Wonders cover when Jessica was all supernatural hulked out and scary looking - THAT'S what we want to see done with her power - not this multiple personality garbage.

Yeah, that was pretty lame. When someone said her other personality was a schoolgirl, I thought it was a funny joke. I can't believe that's actually what happened. Well, hopefully she'll be dead soon and we can forget the whole DL/Jessica/Nikki thing. I guess maybe Micah will tell Monica about his dad being a hero and that might help lead to her superhero antics. I'm not sure how I feel about that either, actually. I'll have to wait and see how well it's executed. I'm really thinking about sending them a script at this point lol. The writing has definitely gone down this season.

I thought it was kinda lame as well! The scene when that guys fist phased thru DL's head was flippin SWEET!!!! LaDeeDa I love ya.....the *BLAM! ???? I really like DL's character, tho the family value thing was getting kinda old considering we see too much already. But man, I think DL could have been really cool if he stayed alive. I really thought that maybe Jessica/Nikki was going to be the one to kill him, especially after seeing the "3rd" persona "GINA" (I think that was her name) but then outta nowhere! After last nights epi I wish it was Jessica that was killed instead!

I tend to agree with the sentiments listed here.

Dude, HOW MANY TIMES was D.L. shot on this show? (Answer: 3 separate occasions.) And he's the PHASER!

Honestly, D.L. can phase through anything and he spent most of his time on this show being shot with guns.

I'd have been more satisfied if he'd lost control of his powers and fell into the center of the earth to die in its fiery core than just getting popped at point blank by a non-character.
