Where we get to meet Penny Logan and her mother Connie. They work for the company. Penny is the one without powers. Connie, her mother, is the one that has powers. IT appears from observation she is able to duplicate someone's face by touch, BUT NOT ON HERSELF. She uses her touch to change her daughter's appearance.

So Penny and Connie are first shown bringing in a man who when he gets nervous emits a nerve gas. By disguising Connie as a homeless woman, they take him down, and bring him into the company. When in company headquarters, Penny seems to be interested in Thompson Jr. But he only has eyes for her mother. Apparently not only did her mother get the power, but she also has the looks. Penny is not that good looking, though she does have a decent body -- she has to maintain her physique because she is a non-powered agent.

Their next assignment is to capture a teleporter who has been eluding the company for some time. Momma changes Penny's appearance to match the teleporter's girlfriend who is somewhat of a looker. But before they can get in, "Evsdropper" calls him to warn him not to answer the door, it's not who he thinks it is. Ultimately, Penny and Connie triumph and bring in the "teleporter".

Back at "company" headquarters, Penny states that the assignment is over so that her mother must "change her face" back to the way it is. But her mother gives her a gift. She leaves her, her looks, for however long they last. Penny "lusts" over Thompson Jr. They meet at the company watering hole, and after a few drinks, end-up in bed together. But Penny wakes up with her "old face". What will Thompson think if he wakes-up and sees her?

This is one of the better GNs so far. As has already and repeatedly mentioned they have been getting better and better. I totally enjoyed it. I can't wait for the show to be back!

Let's see what happens to Penny, and I think Evsdropper is going to make another appearance. Great stuff!

Another good GN! Anything is possible now. I mean if there are "specials" who can change the apperance of people then everytime something happens on the show, we're going to be like, was that really them or someone pretending to be them. The story of this GN was good. I especially liked how they emphasized the strain on the mother/daughter relationship. Not sure why they did it but we know there are some other characters who have issues with their parents.

I don't know about the rest of you, but this proliferation of powers is somewhat disturbing to me. I mean what's next? The power to have a pizza delivered to one's home in thirty minutes or less? I know the show is driven by special abilities, but it seems that the constant addition of new powers may impact the the show's ability to tell a coherent story. Just my humble opinion.

wow, i kinda agree with masterchef...

i've been watching s1-s2 again...turning on new friends to the show, its awesome, one of the biggest let downs was a friend that LOVED s1, the finale not as much ...it was sad when he' ask questions that WE asked live such ass

"why didnt she (claire) just shoot peter? cant he heal?"

then he began to see s2, it was frickin awesome until...he saw the ending to the eps BEFORE the finale (its hiro saying "u chose the wrong side then peter!" or something...then he runs at peter with his sword yelling) then the episode ends...my friend= "OMG I GOTTA SEE THE NEXT EPS NOW! PUT IT ON NOW!"

needless to say...i agreed but inside i knew what was gonna happen...sure enough he's like "what the heck?! why'd they make it seem like peter+hiro were about to fight?!"
-i had to simply reply "ratings" =[

point is...i dont know what any of this had to do with the novel...except that i agree with the post above me, too many weird SPECIFIC powers like "i can make anything green into red"

Thus, I hated this GN...
Let's hope the thrift-store power-spree is only for the GN's
Come on, Nerve Gas body-odor? MILF mom playing with her ugly daughter's face? And Thompson Jr as the predictable type we've seen in countless bad movies.
Who is responsible for this nonsense?
If they put this crap on TV I will likely stop watching...
Not interested was I.

Therefore,
They need to rediscover the power to captivate and keep us interested. Kring used to have that power, but it seems to be wearing off.

hmmm.... all of my M&M's just turned green. Holy Sh%!, I've gotta power!

Sorry folks, I was out with an injured knee, but now that I'm back, it's good to see that sanity is still hanging around here..

I agree in part that it seems like they're trying to force-feed us new powers. I also agree that it's making things quite trivial now. "Ho hum. Mr. Whatshisname has the ability to flash-cook anything into a five-star meal. What will they think of next?"

Work with what you've got, please! Use the characters and the powers you've already introduced, and build some stories and ideas around those! Quit adding more water to the mix, because it just makes it bland.

Anyway, I like the GNs still, because one, they're a far cry from the crud we were reading back in season 1 and 2. And second, because it's still giving me something to feed my Heroes craving. However, if they keep diluting the powers, and broadening the storyline, they're going to lose quite a few viewers before they even get a chance to air season 3!

Stick with what works. Then quit playing with it.

End of story.
