its noah, and some of the effects being part of the company has had on him...it shows him reading an eye chart with "eagle eye vision" he reads all the letters etc etc
he has to go on a mission with the haitian (who doesnt speak) i thought the scene change from city to city with neither saying a word was HILARIOUS (good ol haitian!)
anyway...they know its a guy on a killing spree, not sure of his power (infact neither am I)
they get there..not sure why the haitian doesnt cancel his powers, i guess it has to do with that blocking mental powers (but he can block peter's etc bah) anyway...noah shoots, i guess hits him but doesnt kill him...he loses his vision (it gets not as good) and has to get glasses, then it cuts to the scene where claire is picking the glasses and chooses the hornrimmed ones ala s1
i have NO idea some of the stuff that was happening..i guess the flash, and light stuff ...i didnt understand what his power was..if its just super strong blinding light...how did the ppl die? i guess i'll just wait till this threaad gets bigger hehe..
overal, i liked it, the ending was kinda sad to me...but without it..we would have never had HRG |

This Novel made no sense to me, but I guess HRG aka Noah, now, no longer has 20/20 vision....
Ok.... Interesting. So, how did this happen, and why? Explain it please!
The most useless Novel EVER! |

From what I gather, Noah is taking down someone kind of like Ted. Able to create radioactivity from his body. The flash was just the start.
Second, Noah didn't shoot the man, he shot down the chandelier which fell on him, allowing the Haitian to capture him alive, thus the reason he was cursing Noah's existence while he was recovering at the Odessa HQ.
The flash of light damaged his eyesight. Causing him to need glasses in order to continue on.
The basic tie-in for this novel is the reason why he had glasses to begin with. As far as his health history is concerned, Noah shouldn't have had to wear glasses. Because of his job, his eyesight was damaged enough to force him to wear them. Thus, he had to explain off his "growing old" to Claire, to throw her off of the REAL reason that he needed his glasses.
Now: A Question that's going to nag at me now is this:
Will Noah need his glasses this next season? After all, Claire's blood healed his gunshot to the eye, you'd think that it could also heal his eyes, and restore his eyesight as well..
Anyway, not the best GN, but at least I'm still getting a Heroes fx from time to time! |

agreed...and wasnt he NOT wearing glasses in FiveYearsGone?
what u've answered that i didnt know was..the chandalier thing, the fact that was yea, most likely a "ted-ish" power, but with light rather than radioactivity..
thats about it, cept..you DID raise a good point about the blood healing his eye...it SHOULD fix his eyesight, now let's see if they address it it could take 1 sec of dialog with mohinder or someone handing noah his glasses "no need..with claire's blood i no longer need glasses" |

| Problem is, that near the end of Season 2, he came back to Claire, and he was wearing his glasses. So unless it's a ruse to keep them in the dark, he's NOT healed, and will continue to wear the distinctive Horn-Rimmed glasses. We'll see... |

| I didn't care too much for this GN. Pretty basic info that's really not crucial to the plot line. I guess it's kinda of neat to see why he's HRG, but not so much. Oh well. They can't all be great. I'm wondering though if this guy will appear as a villian on the show next season? |

| Did anyone notice that the last three letters of the eye chart were H R G? And if the guy's power was like Ted's, why didn't he cause more damage and stuff? |

Well, I'd like to see the guy that HRG caught being released and being able to wreak some serious havoc with the company, and folks in general.
However, I'd also like to know why certain characters would have a specific axe to grind with characters as well.
Maybe there's one who's going to be hunting for Adam, sensing his presence, and knowing where he's at.. Maybe to try to "steal" his ability..
Or the flashman being directed at HRG for his capture and incarceration..
I don't know if I'm really liking some of the pablem stories that they've given us, like Matt's sob story. Yeah, it might explain the brain that was preserved in the vault in Odessa, but why else would you tell the story? Is someone going to try to steal that brain, and download the info that's been jacked into it? if so, it would make more sense.
Anyway, aside from us knowing that HRG's not been telling Claire the whole truth, this GN really didn't do much. However, since we know already that he's not been truthful about his actions, this GN was basically a waste of our time and resources.
I'd like to see more GNs with a bit more story to them than letting us know a bit more of the personality of a well-known character. |

Hmmm ..... level 5 and delusions of grandeur? Hmm..... angela called peter, nathan, and arthur by the same reference. Also,Hrg .or the company. labeled Howard Grigsby as having delusions of grandeur.
Peter, Nathan, Arthur, and Howard have delusions of grandeur?
Ok, Arthur has ability. |

C'mon, My Friends! While the novel may be seemingly pointless, did anybody pick up on the most coincidental part of the novel?
That they were saving a family named THE BUTLERS?!
Heh... everything has a meaning in the Heroes universe... maybe there's a reason behind The Company chaging the "Bennets" to the "Butlers."
And in regards to the guy's power, I think he was just able to emit light. Not heat or radiation or anything, in my opinion. He specifically says, "I am the light of the world." And I'm sure Noah was not sent to kill him. Killing is the very last resort. HRG and the doctors were even ordered to keep Sylar alive (the worst killer of them all from what we know). IMO, none of the artwork was indicative of heat or radiation - just of light. For those of you who watch Dragonball Z, I imagine that this guy's power is like Krillin's "Solar Flare" ability.
I think it's a cool ability to introduce into the show. It'd be a good person to have on your side to create a distraction when fighting the good guys. And considering that he's now in a level 5 detention cell,
he might be breaking free thanks to Sylar in "Villains," and there's a chance that we could be seeing him next season.

"LEVEL 5!"-
Remember what a certain someone said in one of the preview clips for "Villains"?????
(Quoted from Ally in the General Spoilers thread)
Angela: The prisoner that escaped on level five is our most dangerous. The most powerful. Rapists. Arsonists.

Yeah, I used to love DBZ. Heroes needs some guys with tails to throw each other into mountains and have supersonic fights. Too many special effects though, I fear.
And maybe, the guy's ability is the same as Ted's, but he started with the light and needs to get to other kinds of electromagnetic waves, but Ted just started being all radiation and heat because it fits his personality better. |
