In this one, we pick up on an old GN thread.
Linderman's just gotten back from Vietnam, and is still wrestling with the spectres of what he's seen and done. Unable to use his ability to it's fullest extent, he's horrified by what he's seen. The death and carnage everywhere have shocked him into a walking corpse for a while.
Linderman meets an enigmatic woman, who seems to be able to reassure him, and get his thoughts back in order. Hiking and camping help him to center his thoughts, and bring him back to reality.
However, when hiking with his friend, they come upon a deer dying from a gunshot from a hunter. Using his ability, Linderman heals the deer, exposing his power to the woman.
Noting his ability, and writing it down in a small notebook she carries, she tells herself that the woman who set her onto Linderman's trail was correct, and with Linderman's ability, she'll be nearly invincible.
Attempting to touch Linderman, she tries to steal his power, but he fights back, and knocks her out, seemingly to die.
Taking up her notebook, he scans the entries, and follows the trail of bread crumbs back to one name that he recognizes.
Arthur Petrelli. |

Hm. I hope this won't come true as I like the image of Sylar murdering people and eating their brain, but could this be a more advanced version of Intuitive Aptitude?
I thought so at first, but that power involves 'knowing things how work', and Linda's power seems a lot more simple. You touch the person, your hand flashes blue and then bang: new power on a silver platter.
I'm glad the GNs are delving back into the past about the founders, I'm itching to know more about them! |

| I'm wondering like I have from the start if Linderman is really dead after all. I mean I guess just because they have a GN about him doesn't mean he's alive, but I just thought he was too big a figure to kill off that easy. Questions I have are, Who sent the girl? What power did she have? Who are the other people on the list she had? Why the names on the list ran off the page onto Linderman's hand? |

I thought this! My theory is that Linderman's old hero Adam will try and help him with some wonder blood. When he gets out. He will! |

Actually, the girl reminds me of another GN we'd had some questions about.
Remember when we had Claude's GN with his previous partner before Noah? They'd been hunting another 'special' that drained the victim into a dessicated husk.
My guess? That the one they'd been hunting actually got away, and this one that was after Linderman was actually the one that Claude and his partner were supposed to have eliminated.
I don't have any concrete proof, but something tells me that there's another plotline under the one we're seeing, and bits and pieces of it are starting to show through the cracks that we've seen in the "plot gaps". I'd have to say that if this is the case, it could really be a mind twist for some of us who have been up in arms about some of the gaping problems in the story and plotlines.... |

While I hope that I am wrong because Linderman was a pivotal role in the story, I fear he is dead. Unless the Adam resurrection can apply ( fingers crossed ). The purpose of the reintroduction of Linderrman in this novel, is to show us what Arthur Petrelli can do. Think about it this way, other than Angela, who is a person in the graphic novels that the writers can have interact with Arthur and not have the outcome be outlandish and unrealistic to the us the reader? With Linderman's prior experience in past graphic novels we are ok with seeing them together. This novel was like a gateway to Arthur in my admittedly long winded opinion.
To answer the one question I feel is the only one I can answer, Linda's power is something along the lines of tactile power absorption. Many people think on other forum sites that Angela sent Linda after Linderman. I am on the fence on that until hard evidence presents itself. Good questions though can't wait until they are answered. |

Either it was Angela Petrelli, or we are meant to think it was. Regardless, the plot thickens.

I'm guessing either power absorbtion, like Peter, only requiring touch, or something slightly more sinister - like power theft. Note that she did say would "steal" his power. She also tried to ambush him, which seems to indicate he wouldn't like what was going to happen - it would probably hurt and might actually take the power away from him. Otherwise, why not wait until he was asleep and just take it from him then. She didn't seem to have any trouble getting close to him...

Good question. Ask Dr. Suresh.

Huh? Did I miss something? I'm not sure what you're getting at with this one. I don't remember anything running "off the page onto Linderman's hand"...?
And did everyone notice the pile of bones in the fire on the last page. He definately didn't just leave her for head. He killed her and incinerated the remains. She's not going to be making any appearances on the show I think. |

| On the page that show the names on the list. The actually writing is off center. The writing runs off the page and onto Linderman's hand. I'm not sure if this was an accident/mistake or if there is something else to it. It just stood out when I saw it. |

I'm also leaning toward the mindset of this series starting to reveal the enigmatic Arthur Petrelli.
After all, we've gone through two seasons now, and we're still no closer to knowing who this man was (is), or what he was (is) capable of..
The same can really be said of Kaito as well. Even though we've seen his death, no information was given to us to let us know what his power was. Thus, his character is still also shrouded in mystery as well.
I'd like to see some kind of "unveiling" of some of the more obscure powers and characters that have been in the show. It would really make the Heroes universe that much more detailed and interesting in my eyes, at least.. |

No, it doesn't. I normally download my Novels. It says:
<<Daniel Linderman
Denver, Colorado
Power: Healing>>
In a latter page he finds similar information about Arthur Petrelli and his location, BUT no information about his power. Obviously, since he has been targeted, and obviously, he knows him, he figures he needs to go talk to him.
To me this seems to be the spark behind the idea of the Creation of the OWI.
The only unanswered question is "who Linda was"? If she was a power absorber (at least a 98% possibility, where did she get her information?
I think -- and I hope -- with this series of novels, until the FALL the writers try to bridge the gap, that Season 2 SHOULD have bridged telling us what has happened in the last 2 years. |

Seems like the chapter revealed info about SG being hunted before the company. Also, Linda suspected that Linderman and Arthur had a ability, but she had to confirm it.
Linda thought "just like she said. After i steal his power ... no one will be able to stop me "
So, she was told by a woman that Arthur and Daniel had powers. She watch Linderman heal and wrote down what his powers were.
So i guess she was going to get close to Arthur and write down what power he exhibited .
She never knew what power Daniel or Arthur had.
So, Arthur is probably a evolved human.
However, ....... Linderman's power must be more powerful than i thought since she thought she would be invincible. Maybe he can heal or revive himself? |

| According to Joe Tolerico, Linda Tavara's backstory "will be covered in an upcoming three-story arc." |
