New GN, not bad, but still nothing worth writing home about.
This one centers on Kimiko, Hiro's witty and capable sister. In it, she recalls that her father, Kaito, didn't seem to ascribe to beauty as much as he did in reliving the past with it's heroes such as Takezo Kensei. She would sit and arrange flowers with her mother, and Kaito would read stories to Hiro about the great Kensei.
Later on, he would forsake the company for some of his other hobbies. One was the Yamagoto Fellowship, which focused on remembering those famous heroes who had something worthwhile to emulate.
After her father's death, she found that the company was trying to shove her off to one side while they maintained the needs and operation of the company. She was shown into the hall of the Yamagoto Fellowship, where she found that it was in a sad state. Recalling some of her father's lessons, she employed these in the operation of the company. Seeing that this strengthened her control, she has now resolved to bring the Yamagoto Fellowship back to life. Thus the end of the novel.
Sorry, being behind a firewall prevents me from finding the Easter Egg.. |

Thanks Jorm.... I was going to post a review this morning seeing as how nobody had yet stepped-up, but I waited....
I am still waiting to see what Kimiko's role is going to be in the ongoing saga of the "Heroes" Universe. I do believe, that she will have a bigger role to play. I think this GN gives us a hint of this. |

Hmm. I think the only thing I really got out of this is that Drucker and Hana are most likely really dead, and Kimiko will be improving the Yamagato Fellowship. Yamagato's site will probably be the next hub for the Heroes 360 game.
Nice, but nothing very substantial. When I saw "Kimiko Nakamura," part of me was holding out that she'd discover something about her family's legacy (aka powers). *sigh* |

Remember the rumor about
Adam returning for "Villains"? Well, I assumed that he would be dug up...
From this novel, I get the sense that it will be Kimiko's doing...
How's that for a nutty theory? |

Hmm.... Interesting bit that....
And what did you think of the Easter egg? What did Hiro and Kaito where standing in front of? It looked like some sort of memorial mausuleum (how do you spell that darn word)?
So there might be some connection there..... |

They're standing in front of the pigeon coup on the roof of the Deveaux building. In the 'hole' behind Hiro, you can see the green door that is at the top of the Deveaux building
But what I DID find extremely intriguing is something Kimiko said:
"When he died, I was deeply saddened by the loss... but, I also believed my father was happier now that he could stand beside his hero in the afterlife."
Now, I know that could have purely been just figurative, but do we know WHERE Hiro buried Adam? Could Hiro have buried him next to/near Kaito out of some sort of sign of respect to his father? If so, then the word "beside" could be more than just a figure of speech. Is it possible that Kimiko knows/could find out where Adam is buried, and out of curiosity about this legendary hero, have him dug up? Hmm...
Eh... probably not, but who knows at this point... |

I don't know if Hiro would be willing to confide something like burying their father's killer next to their father. To be honest, I don't know if Hiro will be willing to admit to anyone else that he's responsible for taking care of Adam in the first place. After all, the actions Hiro took in nullifying Adam are quite sadistic and brutal. However, this is one of only three ways I can think of to honestly nullify Adam's influence and ability.
Kimiko, on the other hand, is going to have a plethora of information at her fingertips in taking over the family business from Kaito. Maybe she'll stumble into the files and documents that Kaito has had stored, and be able to unravel the mysteries that surround the Company, and some of the other "old school" heroes.
It could also be that Kimiko will be the one to figure out the significance of all the "trophies" that were in that sealed vault Peter broke into. Who knows? She might go on her own vendetta to release and find justice for those who were brutally used and then tossed aside by the COmpany to begin with.
We'll see. Quite a few different options that she can take from here. It's up to Kring and the writers to make something interesting of it all now.... |

Oops! Pigeon coup..... I meant!
But PK, you're right. And so are you Jorm. I think Kimiko will be pivotal as a leader type person in Season 3. |

I completely agree with you, Jorm. Just a nutty Popkorny thought

I'd like to see that a lot - it would be a very interesting way to give Present Hiro more of a role in the upcoming series... through Kimiko's role as CEO of Yamagato. After all, based on Hiro's own knowledge, Sylar was 'taken care of', and Adam really WAS taken care of, so Hiro doesn't have much to do aside from going back to his job at Yamagato. I would like for him to find out that Sylar is alive and kicking, and for him to reunite a third time with Peter. |
