Heroes Graphic Novel 7: Control

Anyone else notice that the license plate on the car keeps changing?

Reported as "License #345L757G", seen later on the golf course as UFT122 , and seen at the end as SOMA11.

Can anyone make heads or tails of it? The conspiracy theorist in me says it may be important, but nothing jumps out at me. For a 6 page novel you'd think they'd either get the license # correct or they'd just leave off the license plates altogether or blur them out.

#345L757G - Dunno. At first glance this looks like a color value in HTML but it's two characters too long.

SOMA11 - Maybe "Soma (Sanskrit), or Haoma (Avestan), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *sauma-, was a ritual drink of importance among the early Indo-Iranians, and the later Vedic and greater Persian cultures. It is frequently mentioned in the Rigveda, which contains many hymns praising its energizing or intoxicating qualities. In the Avesta, Haoma has an entire Yasht dedicated to it."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soma

UFT122 - an electronic component:
http://www.datasheets.org.uk/datasheet/UFT122/UFT122.shtml

What does this add up to?

Thanks for looking at this. It got me thinking a little bit. I'm still not sure what it means exactly, but here's some piggy-back research based on Superhiro's info:

#345L757G - It is also one character too long for the Nevada DMV to consider as a valid license plate number. Even their current (Aug 2006) Personalized License Plate Application (PDF) only allows 7 characters.

(just brainstorming here - this theory is really far out there)
If you combine the 3 and the 4 and rotate the L you get a repeating pattern of 757 757 with a G at the end. The Boeing 757 is an airplane designed for Eastern Air Lines and British Airways and entered service in 1983. The last one was delivered to Shanghai Airlines in August 2006. 1050 have been built and 996 are still in service. Although this is a huge stretch, two Boeing 757's were used in the 9/11 attacks. One was United Airlines Flight 93 and the other was American Airlines Flight 77. It doesn't explain the G at the end and I doubt it has any relation to any supposed "hidden meaning". I don't remember the web address of the interview, but I remember Kring saying that the NYC bomb that we've been seeing will not be related to terrorist activity.

SOMA11 - I also found this link about soma that has two interesting paragraphs at the bottom. In the novel, Matt says the guy's thoughts are jumbled or all over the place and he may be on drugs. The soma has narcotic properties that stimulate the nerves.
Quote:
The nerves are highly stimulated, and in this state the slightest effort of will produces very powerful effects. Consequently, if one wishes to step over a small stick or straw, he steps and jumps as if the obstacles were tree trunks. If a man is ordinarily talkative, his speech nerves are now in constant activity, and he involuntarily blurts out secrets, fully consious of his actions and aware of his secret but unable to hold his nerves in check. ... Others run or walk quite involuntarily, without any intention of moving, to places where they do not wish to go at all.

Equally remarkable and strange is the extremely subtle and elusive narcotic substance contained in fly-agarics, which retains its effectiveness permenantly and can be transmitted to other persons

The actual plant used to make "soma" is unknown but is theorized to be the Fly Agaric, or the Amanita muscaria. I also found it interesting as a side note that Fly Amantia is one of the ingredients in the game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I knew before thst Matt has dyslexia, but it wasn't until tonight's episode that I realized that this might explain why the numbers & letters of the liscence plate are different every time! We're seeing it through Matt's eyes!!! idea

Also piggybacking a bit, but in a different direction...

First is the reported license number (345L757G). As mentioned, too long of a license plate number (honestly, probably to keep from having people try to find the person with that license plate - but...). It also seems to have no link. But, I work with computers a bit.

Removing the ones that are over F (G and L), we get #345757. This is the color that results when that number is used. Honestly, this is the weakest point here. Although, if we manipulate it a little... This is the number reversed (757543) and this is if you lower from FFFFFF (getting CBA8A8).

On a stronger point, the UFT122 is an 'Ultrafast Recovery Module'. If I had more hardware knowledge, I might be able to decipher more from the datasheet.

Combine this with SOMA11 - which appears to be the internal code for a Linux Powerpack... If someone that speaks Spanish could look into it here, that would be great: www.trustation.com/eshop.asp?pn=SOMA11
Also a Basic level Swedish(?) Disability Studies course code.
Or, if you go with ignoring the '11', Soma is also the Latin word for body.

So, I've got two thoughts.
First, if you use the lower and the latin definition, you've got a fleshy color (to my eye), an 'ultrafast recovery module', and body in Latin. A body that recovers quickly that color? Claire?
Second, (and simpler) is the hexadecimal coding, computer hardware, and linux powerpack. Just a computer geek artist/illustrator?

Hi guys. A Heroes newbie here, but I found something interesting while researching possible meanings in the car registration plate. It struck Me as important that it was 3 numbers, letter, 3 numbers, letter. so I seperated them into two sections and googled them seperately. The results were... interesting.

345L gave me:

http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1968Natur.220..345L

A website about "Bacteriophage f2 RNA: Control of Translation and Gene Order" (Emphasis Mine)

757G gave me:

http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/abstract/110547038/ABSTRACT

A website about research into "Complex gene rearrangements caused by serial replication slippage" (Again, Emphasis Mine)

Two websites about Genes and mutation... Coincidence? And look at the specific subject matter... "Control of translation of Gene Order" and "Complex Gene Rearrangement".... Can anyone say "Sylar"?

As for SOMA11. That could be interpreted as Somali. Possibly indicating the origins of one of the Heores, maybe one we havent yet met. Or a link to languages, maybe. Or perhaps Mika

And the UFT122 - Ultrafast Recovery Module... does indeed seem to hint at Claire.

Sorry if my musings are way off track... just thought the Genetics link of the long licence plate was interesting.
