Just a thought, but maybe the arrangement of Niki+DL was just to see if it was possible to produce a kid with abilities. It does seem to be a bit of a stretch to arrange a marriage+kid to rig an election to blow up NYC with a human bomb - I'm not saying it's out of the realm of possibility, given the show. but i was just thinking that the Niki + DL experiment was just to produce a child with abilities or to see if it was even possible. Just my 2 pennies.
That's what I thought at first too...but what are the odds that Linderman, who collects paintings depicting the future, and who knows a bunch of people with different abilities (being the head of the OWI and all), would rig a "mating" and just happen come out with the perfect child he needs for his diabolical scheme by chance? Given the context of the show, it's my opinion that it's more likely that he had some knowledge of the events that were going to transpire.
As for the Haitian...I'll go with Action's theory that he met Angela through Claude. Makes sense, IMHO...provided that this whole theory is true.
To go along with your theory, Action, if The Haitian was working for Linderman, but actually for Angela, who is also "working" for Linderman, then Thompson was more disposable than he, himself, thought! Depending on whether or not Linderman knew about The Haitian/Angela arrangement, Thompson was, more likely than not, completely out of the loop!
What am I suggesting? Well, let's analyze this for a second. If Linderman knew and Thompson didn't, then I think (I'm just theorizing here) Linderman's ultimate goal could have been to get rid of all NON-specials, as well as the dangerous specials, everywhere, otherwise, why would he NOT tell Thompson about Claire. Instead, Lindy/Angela told him to do one thing (bag and tag, and put down the dangerous ones) while Lindy/Angela did another (protect Claire).
Now, if Linderman didn't know about this arrangement, here's what I'm suggesting. Angela shared the power of running OWI with Linderman - she was one of the few who followed him when OWI broke off, and they split the power in half. She could not have been above him, that much we know so far because if she was indeed the boss, then she could have just said "Linderman, don't touch my granddaughter," at which point Thompson would have been instructed to leave Claire alone. I'm now definitely thinking that Angela went behind Linderman's back in doing this.
With all of this thinking, guess what - NEW THEORY! MERIDITH AND NATHAN WERE SET UP BY LINDERMAN (AND MAYBE ANGELA) TOO! It's all about Darwin, and mating to create maximum potetial!! Ahhhhh

On another front...I just rewatched (with copious use of fast-forward) 4 episodes with a lot of Angela in them.
My re-collection of glove wearing must have been wrong. She actually did not wear any gloves. (So a retraction from me).
In "Six Months Ago" she touches Peter (a lot) when she gets to the apartment for his party. In "How to stop An Exploding Man" she touches Nathan (a lot).
So maybe this is not Angela in the GN. AF, you might be right, it could be Sophie (?)....
Well, I've got a sort of epiphany, and I need to air it.
Ausiello's spoiler concerining Angela's ability was "Like someone else's ability, but it takes a bit longer to get from point A to point B", or something close to that..
What if Angela is a semi-empathic person?
She can recall an ability, but it takes a lot of concentration, and only for a short time..
With Peter, he only has to think, and he's got the ability, and he can keep using it as long as he needs to. Thus, he's got a more advanced form of empathic response. Angela, on the other hand, has to concentrate, and keep concentrating on the ability in order to use it. So it's like Peter's ability, but not as powerful. There could be some limitations. Like how long she can use the power, how many powers she can actually recall and store. Say she can only keep up to four powers, and if she runs into someone else with an ability, the oldest of the four powers she currently has will be lost to her until she finds it again.. I'm just rambling here, but it seems to make sense, in a strange way..
I'd think that with her ability, Linderman's planning, and Charles' ability, they'd have found a way to nearly perfectly predict what was going to happen when they combined certain key elements together. Maybe Angela could "forsee" that if Linderman and herself got together, they'd make a perfect "Maximum Potential" child. Maybe she could also tell what putting Nathan and Meredith, and Niki and DL together would create. Setting all those pieces into motion required Linderman and his money. Telling what the abilities would be required Charles. Knowing when and where to affect those key people required Angela.
Thus, everything that happened in season one lets us know that Angela is nothing if not a cold, calculating person. Linderman was ruthless in achieving his goals, but it was Angela who provided the plan and impetus for Linderman to act on. I think Charles was there just to confirm vague areas for them.
What do you think? Am I way off base, or does this have some merit?

Haram hasn't been set up as the most competent of characters, however, I doubt he would have tracked Fusor for 11+ years and missed out that a woman was actually dehydrating people. Therefore, I believe that Fusor actually did have the power and that the woman was able to use it somehow to kill him (whether that makes her an empath or a mimic or whatever is yet to be known).
I also doubt that Claude had anything to do with Angela getting arrested for shoplifting. I think the writers simply changed her as the season progressed and became became more interested in things like (is Linderman Peter's father?, How did she know the Haitian? etc).
--- My reasoning for this is rests in how Peter and Nathan reacted to her. Peter spent time with her because he cared. Nathan distanced himself from her like she was a lunatic. Had she been the very smart, electioneering, character we know her as from the beginning then Nathan would have had a completely different reaction. He would have been trying to figure out who was setting her up.

- French connection
- We've been asking for backstory and more info on Angela
- Kring likes to have a connection between the character and the power. Angela is the cold hearted type capable of dehydrating a person
- We've been given stories and answers with major holes in them before, so it could happen
Reasons AGAINST the Accomplice being Angela
- The age doesn't add up
- It seems the accomplice might be an empath or a mimic. This doesn't seem like Angela because I would hate to see a mother and son have the same power, or ones so similar. Also, Angela would not have been so somber seeing Peter dead. She would have simply used Linderman's power to heal him
- Why would the operatives be after her and/or Fusor?

In regards to mating for powers- My belief is that Linderman and/or Angela realized that when two people with powers had offspring the result was better powers. Whether they could predict the powers is unknown. I imagine there were many couples or partnerships similar to DL and Niki that were arranged and/or set up. Micah simply could've been the most useful result for the part of their plan that he played.

Good point. I guess I must have been thinking Peter as not fully being dead. Peter and Claire are in a gray area when it comes to death. However, the combination of her seeing him then and thinking he is dead and her thinking he could survive blowing up do not make sense to me.
Yeah... I agree that the actress is probably way too young for Sophie to also be the accomplice. I had posted on the season 2 thread that it could be possible... We're reaching for straws right now...
UNLESS SHE IS AN EMPATH- which she very well could be and has had a run in with either Kane/Kensei and/or Kaito (our current immortal potential characters).
If that's the case then Sophie could still be the accomplice and Angela's daughter- And be older than Nathan and delivered before Angela got together with Pa Petrelli.
With the father being....??? Kane?

i think after watching the season two clip, Angela may have the ability to ressurect people from the dead.
i think she ressurected nathan to torture him and tell him that he killed his brother and if he did what he was supposed to do, everything would be alright. and maybe she is caging peter so he cant get out. and maybe she is using the Haitian, since he works for her, to surpress peter's abilities so he can't escape
