I think Nathan is ashamed of himself not being able to help his wife or himself, he looks at himself as cursed,and does not see his true potential (at least this is what i am hoping for) Kinda like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable. If he goes bad on us i will have to change my Aatar too! Hey ya gotta luv his sense of humor too, walkin into the diner in his jammys and the cat rescuer comments, come on.......................

I do agree that he is trying to protect Peter, that picture was pretty clear as to what happens to peter, but we all know claire will be there for him to leech off of so................. now to what end does he want to protect Peter? Cause he loves him or his own career, uh..........BOTH maybe. I have hope for Nathan, looks like i may be the only one though LOL

I was almost scared to watch this based on what some of you were saying how huge of a spoiler this was. A few small things answered but the biggest questions still remaining. Good find nonetheless!

Excellent find. It does explain why Nathan lied to Peter about the painting and how Peter discovers where to go. It doesn't look good for Jackie.

I can't wait for this next episode...although I have a feeling that all of the showdown stuff at Homecoming is going to be in like the last few 10 minutes or so...I think Nathan is "protecting" Peter, pehaps because he may know more about their abilities than he's letting on...going back to some of the other threads on this forum regarding their father and how he may have had some abilities, I think that Nathan may be more aware of what their father was involved in, and is trying to suppress Peter from going down the same path that their dad did. I think Nathan, technically accepts their abilities, but does not want to acknowledge them because of fear of kinda "following in their dad's footsteps".

okay i finally got to rewatch the preview and got to see what the painting was.. nice for them to kind of switch up the rotation of the picture in the regular sneak peak after the show because you see peter's face in the standing up position (thinking he went all bad and stuff) but in the painting he is really lying down under the banner looking kind of dead... wow.

I know...pretty sweet how they're messing with us! I don't if I had seen the picture in person, if I would assume that Peter was dead in the picture! It just looks like he's sort of dazed. Simone seems pretty convinced that he's going to die if he goes to Odessa.[/quote]

Peter kinda looks like Niki at the end of the episode after DL had phased his hand through her chest and left with Micah--couldn't tell if she was supposed to be dead or not.

Nathan lied about the painting and destroys it to save his brother and people thinks he is a jerk about it. I know some part of him did it so he wouldn't get embarressed but for the most part he did it to save Peter.

I can totally imagine that peter actually will die just like in the painting, right before a commercial for dramatic effect or maybe even at the end of episode cliffhanger. Then of course Claire comes near the body and he absorbs the power to come back to life. Cool
